Opticians who do Prescriptions without purchase!
ChaiyaTH replied to scottiejohn's topic in Chiang Mai
You don't, its called service. -
Chiang Mai governor already explained that 'Songkran' is seen as a event by government to promote Thailand, hence it was said to last a few weeks now. This is not for water playing but events in general aka another Bangkok failure idea. The actual and official holiday however is not changed at all, the same goes for water playing which will be 13, 14 and 15 only. Gonna be hiding all 3 days to be honest, the pollution fked me enough this year to never want to experience that again too. Not really interested in people throwing dirty water on me, to get rid of their aggression fueled by alcohol, to then get sick after.

Any exception to the two a year land crossings?
ChaiyaTH replied to Yagoda's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Visa run services in the south seem to somehow be able and bend the 2 times a year limit when crossing with them on Malaysia side, i Believe 3 instead of 2, otherwise it is always 2. Russians and Ukranians also need to stay there for like 3 days before returning. -

I think your best chance is to drive by some local coin or QR payment operated washing machine places, often there is names and phone numbers or LINE id's of these companies that make them or maintain them. I have seen various ones when I was using them in Bangkok (the last one I saw is very cool; can pay QR code as well it does the powder itself, so nobody can mess up the machine). But i'm afraid most actually usually sell or lease washing machines as a ready to use one here, never seen people manually converting ones, but it seems to very easy on YouTube to do. Let me know if you know more, i'd like to learn about it. I always liked these self operating devices including snack and drink vending machines.

It's called marketing bro... lighten their loading lol. It's in a way shrink flation, the old average price but now without checked luggage. Guess it depends on ones holiday, I would just wear good jeans and a proper shirt and jacket, as that not counts as weight already, then in my carry-on luggage some extra jeans and nicer clothes. Save the rest to go on a shopping spree, spend up to 5000 baht instead in Thailand for some shirts, shorts, swimming pants and underwear, flip flops. But yeah that is not helping reverse travelling.

Two thai men, stabbed each other, they are however ladyboys. Women is the wrong wording here.

Are we in the middle of a hoeflation ?

It sure was greener back then, it often looks yellow now. -
Picture of Israeli soldier holding Thai flag causes a stir
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah that is very comparable to a warzone with a genocide taking place... The brightest comment so far... It's likely some israeli loser with a girlfriend here, who wanted to show off this to her. Hope he gets punished by his superiors ASAP. Imagine how much this could even threaten the local working Thai farmers, as their 'enemy' might now think Thailand agrees with them. -
You promised us updates later on, you better get back here asap or there will be consequences.

Fraudulent calls and messages surge by 18% in Thailand in 2023
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well yes, but that doesn't make it less annoying, and I actually end up not answering calls from people who got my number for business that way too. So I have to check the number on google every time, it's usually known as a Spam call there. -
Are we in the middle of a hoeflation ?
ChaiyaTH replied to MrPancake's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I've been watching massage shops many times, they do hoe flation for sure if they get the chance to get away with it (apparently most times), as they always sell 1 hour but I notice tourists coming back out on average in 40 minutes. For the general hoes many seem to have lost their mind, asking 2-3K short time even. Not even worth it at that point to ask what Long time would cost. Guess they figure it is still worth it as long 1 idiot per week is paying that, as that is still equal to what a job would be. But that is a sad income for such type of job, knowing the duration of doing it is limited too. Guess there is not too much brains left these days, at least in the earlier days, they seemed to have a logical business mindset with reasonable prices and volume. Now all volume there is, is their body size due to weight and noise. Latest thing seems that they even think we need to pay a reservation fee upfront, or that we will have to meet them on set days and times, that suit them, while we are the customer + asking still 2-3K 55555+ -
Robot arm crushes worker to death in Chon Buri (video)
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I wouldn't want to even walk near a self-operating machine like that, in a narrow corner, like the employee was doing. Just because all these machines make me think of the terminator. -
Canadian man arrested in Buriram for 2,955 days overstay
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
The French part explains most of the behavior I guess lol. There is a lot French here that seem to live on a shoe string, I sometimes also wonder how many of them are X years on overstay already. -
Might as well die in that case, if one feels stable and healthy, and knows there is something that could popup any time, or not, there is little risk to travel a few weeks there. Might as well die or not travel if fearing it at that level. He could even just leave the country and never come back again, bailing on the bill, at his age, lol.

Aussie arrested in Koh Pha Ngan after joyride on stolen motorcycle
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Not the brightest one clearly, if he only went to the mainland and started driving elsewhere he might have had a chance to enjoy some months or years longer lol. There is some strange Disney land type of thing on Phangan that makes everyone believe they can do whatever they want there, and in reality they actually get away with most, it's entirely different than Thailand. -
Reason why cannabis is going to be banned again
ChaiyaTH replied to Jayaroi's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
That is nonsense, I smoke daily since 16 years with also breaks of 2 years and shorter periods of 6-12 months in between. Sure if you didn't smoke for a while (or long time), you will get high instantly just as you likely get drunk after only 2 glasses of wine. But once you have your 'base level' again, nothing really changes after how much or how strong it needs to be to get the same effect. Same as with alcohol, you might be able to drink X more but that's it. You describe some extremely rare cases of a serious hardcore level rasta pothead, like snoop dog, who would really not be cool with anything much less than his grade weed. Even then, he would be just fine without any withdrawal issues in the average Thai dispensary, even he might hate it. Changes the brain chemistry? Ehh ok, I guess many things do that, including social media usage of 12 hours average among Thais. The difference as always is between use & abuse. And for some people weed doesn't work, for others it does. Same as some only drink beer, while others only drink wine, and others only hard liquor. While the one drinking beer would be going bad on hard liquor, the one drinking it thrives on that and gets sleepy on beer etc etc etc. Idiot people are the ones whining doing something they don't, to protect their own insecure choices. -
Checked a bit on the internet, it is a nightmare... I got quotes for saying I wanted a travel insurance for 1 month, being 78 years old, to Australia only, 600-1000 dollar quotes... I would just go without insurance in that case, it is even the same to fly back here business class and then go to a public hospital. I'm paying 1600 baht a month for 250K USD coverage being early 30s..

Foreign woman criticised for urinating on Bangla Road, Phuket
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
BTS and Metro is the worst if suddenly needing to go, you often need to leave the entire stations and find some business nearby. Often results in losing 45 minutes time, time is worth nothing here... I never take long duration busses for this reason too, or not if not having a toilet. I'm one of the worst; I want to go during stops but don't need to, to then needing to go 10 minutes after leaving again. -
Foreign woman criticised for urinating on Bangla Road, Phuket
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I nearly pissed myself quite a few times in Thailand when drunk, due to the lack of public restrooms. A few times i pissed inside central areas in bushes or corners, no other option is there.- 119 replies
