  1. If a girl was not ignorant and naive in the first place, they would not be in a bar anymore. So you can expect to get the BS stories if discussing certain subjects with these ladies, let alone a mama san. I recall a similar conversation between a guy and 2 girls in a bar recently, who thought that if they married in Thailand, they automatically would get everything if the foreigner died, even if this was money or wealth in other countries and bought / earned before marriage. They kicked him out too after he told them to be wrong, it seemed like this broke their dreams or something. One just got married and was the mamasan / owner.
  2. I guess you don't know many girls then, because the majority barely makes that. Not to mention that it is obvious that this can only be earned for a limited duration, nothing will be saved up usually, no retirement is build up etc etc etc etc. If you put that in perspective, even girls earning 50K in reality only earn 15K, if they would save it up accordingly to the limiting factors such as age, in that job. Not to mention they are usually wasted after doing that, never can do a normal job again + health issues of years long drinking shots and more.
  3. Based on what? Your subjective opinion? Anything could sound like anything in that case. This is what is reported so far.
  4. Obviously isn't it, this is the same in many western countries, most offline retailers are gone and if you do buy it you pay quite a bit more. Renting a building, all the extra staff, aircon bills for the building etc etc. To pay all those kind of costs, aside of usually having free delivery or installation services, makes it easily 20-30% more expensive. But can be worth it too, warranty handling for example.
  5. Same for me, knowing I also came here at a young age already so it was not really about a budget, just whatever I can make each month. If everything is going good, I often also do more fun things which results in higher expenses. While if I am very busy, or when money is low (which would result in getting busy too), my costs can be low. In terms of budget it doubled from what I used to need but that is also because I now have a child and pay rent for a bigger place etc etc. Otherwise I could still live on almost the same figure as I could 10 years ago. Mainly because I also know much more places, or where to get what for the best value etc. Also confident that if I lived this same stage of my life back home, my wife would need to work fulltime too, and we would still live way poorer than we are living here while spending average. If something is way above my expected budget, it is the time you can lose for little things like bureaucratic stuff, visa. stuff etc. That's not money but time is money so yeah whatever.
  6. The german lady had approached his parents in the past for doing business together in their sea food business. The parents felt something was off, specially as no money was paid upfront and it became quiet, so no deal was ever made. The parents later on learned that the german lady now still got in touch with their son, and the son claimed he made some profits on a land sale in the south of Thailand with that lady. The parents then stopped paying attention to it. So he likely got to know Olaf via the german lady, could indeed be that he is innocent and used or forced. At least this is what was reported before in the news.
  7. I recently had a issue with them too and stopped using it entirely due to my old iPhone being broken and I didn't have the backup for the 2FA key there (as i used it rarely and didn't have active holdings, more to transfer in usage). Instructions to recover or reset it seemed super reasonable and so I did, twice, to at the end get to hear I have to do it again because I not reply their final email within 24 hours, even I did and proved I did. This is Thailand.
  8. Yeah they are all normal nice guys, the same with the former president that died after he married in Pai right. That there are some normal people in it too, or in home countries, says zero about this specific club and them in Thailand.
  9. Even a browser takes a lot of resources nowadays, the laptop is just <deleted>ty. That your virus scanners says nothing is no guarantee btw.
  10. Just shoot him after 10 years in prison. What a idiot btw, to hide there in a motorbike club.
  11. I had a friend who was also asked this weird thing in Malaysia, to book an entire 60 days somewhere upfront. When he supplied the same documents in Laos, they said this was not needed at all. It's ever changing and confusing for tourist visa, just a mess if you ask me. Specially knowing everyone just makes fake bookings or cancels them after anyway.
  12. Is depends, let's assume a less busy and for that reason also more reasonable rent area: If they are open 24 hours per day and would get 15 customers per 1 hour on average, spending only 100 baht each average, this would be 36,000 baht turn-over per day. Let's say the franchise owner receives 30% of this as a margin, that is 10,800 baht. He would then need to pay 6 staff 500 baht = 3,000 baht per day, electric 2000 baht per day, rent 2000 baht per day. Total: 7,000 baht per day costs and a profit margin of 3,800 baht per day. Just a random example, there would also be some additional income from ATM's and stuff potentially. Or for providing all the payment services. 15 customers per hour with 100 baht isn't that much too, even in my quiet area there is easily 15 per hour at night hours. Still have to consider you first have to obviously invest to have a 7/11 too, so depending on that cost it earns zero until that is paid back. And as of investing, it requires 'significant' cashflow, which might be risky (but that is doing business), depending on your net worth.
  13. Sherlock homes here in action, who would think each savings account uses different identification. its not as if you stash millions on offshore account lol.
  14. Thats a joke right? Of course they dont, thats maybe only for very few in big cities. To even be able and do it you need a yearly fresh up course too.
  15. I think so, i saw one of those garden cutters with the evidence too, so suspect they first did fingers or toes. Maybe he died by accident from torture when the money wasn't enough. Dumb and dumber regardless, just kidnapping him would been less jail.
  16. Millionaire? Rent and a cheap car alone are easily 1500 a month already, that's 18K and another 12K you do not have to spend on food, entertainment and that kind of stuff. Not that expensive or crazy at all.
  17. Why would someone wanna open a 7/11 franchise in the first place, you can make much more profit opening your own grocery shop.
  18. So what happened? What a useless post without any information.
  19. That's the entire reason we have this problem, we did not have proper songkrans during covid years. Now we pay the price.
  20. I don't know what kind of guys you talk about, might matter where they are from or that they simply pay someone. Or they have been simply lucky so far, sounds unlikely to me, with all the jealous thais around it too. But caught working illegally = bye bye Thailand fast.
  21. I just wonder if the same thing was done but with 'normal clothes' on, would it be an issue to that point? I doubt it. And then let's say a girl would have done it, but she wear a very short dress or a very short mini skirt on, it is totally fine. Even you see just as much flesh. Super stupid in a way to do this somewhere in public regardless, he could just have done it from his hotel room.
  22. She rents the stall from JJ for 1800 baht per month, she doesn't own a square centimeter. So the point is that they usually would sell their spot for ''key money'' or ''goodwill money''. You never really own it, just as long JJ keeps renting them out only. No you can't run a stall yourself of course, you are a foreigner. Anything a Thai can do, they need to do. You can only be the owner, or be for example the manager in a bar, you can't actually make drinks or sell t-shirts yourself. You could be supervising, checking up, delivering stock, and do that kind of stuff, if you also have a company and work permit. Otherwise you would basically need to just be (silent) owner.
