Doctor Warns Another Big Covid Wave Is Looming

It is. I see Covid a the Brown snake in the back of my garden. Very unlikely it will kill me or my kids, while I can't ignore it completely. -
Doctor Warns Another Big Covid Wave Is Looming

You could also prepare for your demise. Right now those who analyse the excess mortality figures, over the last 3 years come to the conclusion that Covid isn't less lethal than the Spanish flu, of 1919. And would have been a lot worse without the vaccines. -
Obviously you didn't read my post, especially the last paragraph: "So to be constructive I am going to apply with the BOI as soon as they launch the scheme, if I can actually match their requirements. My pension is about 100k I I am under a Corporate Cigna plan, which is unlimited with a maximal copayment of about a 3000 Sfr. I think it will be fun, and I'll keep you posted. Pretty sure I'll end up getting another Thai Wife extension next January." So yes. The only hope is that under current plan applications will be processed by BOI, they will issue a letter to TI, who will stamp the passports. That would still leave the yearly report hurdles, where IO could come up with any corny requirements they like.

And, how about mystery, Chang, Leo, etc? Some guys are just too much..

Once more a lot of nonsense in thread. I had a Macbook pro, that got damaged by some gross battery swell, mostly due to my negligence, as I had left the laptop on charge permanently for years. I brought it back to the shop in Robinson's Buriram, where they replaced the body, the battery, the keyboard and fixed the screen. They charged me only for the standard battery replacement package fee as they considered that the battery swell was an anomaly. The only negative was that it took a couple of months as they insisted on replacing the original Swiss French keyboard. Also, I am on the market for a laptop for my wife for when she completes her masters, whenever I look at the Dell XPS range (to compare what's comparable) I come to the conclusion the Macbooks aren't that expensive at all. And BTW @skippybangkok these guys are great, but be aware that you may void any warranty if you get non Apple repairs done.

Five-day-long weekend to celebrate two major Buddhist holidays

No booze guys, for two days... BTW would anyone know for sure if the Kings birthday on the 28th will be dry too? -
Have you actually seen in my post the question mark after "sex, drugs" ? It was meant to reveal my uncertainty about what happens in this place where I have indeed never been. The possibilities I have raised, were based on the reputation of this area to attract mostly dodgy backpackers. But it remains that "real (healthy) backpackers would be way better off hiking the Lake district instead of some degenerate concrete jungle.

Avoid this place.. Question you motivations, sex, drugs? If you are still stupid enough to come during the beautiful Northern summer, just bite the bullet.

Or just wait a few weeks. With BA.5 on the rampage in Europe and US and on the rise in Thailand, it is likely that prices will drop. It'll be risky though, as the drop will be followed by cancellations and quarantines. Covid isn't over, go hiking in Lake District, healthier.

Strangely you are describing my nightmare. At her last cardiology visit MIL left home for Buriram hospital at 7am and was back just before 7pm. A full day of waiting and queueing for one scan+visit. I am 70, and have various chronic conditions which require about 30 appointments a year, I'd die if had to rely on Buriram hospital for that. I travel to Bangkok 3 or 4 times years stay in a good hotel, not to far from Bumrungrad, and rarely wait more than 30 minutes for my doctors, who always apologise when late. All that in cozy, quiet and air conditioned settings. The cashier giggles at my stupid jokes and Cigna refunds before I pay my credit card bills.

"New normal", it's getting a bit frightening.
Boomer6969 replied to Boomer6969's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I dunno who's obsession that would be, I mentioned "pre-Nazi Germany" i.e 1919 to 1933, of which my mother, who was living then in Bavaria was telling us stories about. Learn to read... -

Got my (wife's) new CRV last week from a Bangkok dealer last week. Nice, the only negative so far being that stupid electric handbrake, I don't see any advantage, they just throw in these stupid gadgets to attract idiot customers. I dumped the old (2016 model) one for 630000 to the first interested buyer. Who, interestingly came from Bangkok too. His GF had seen the car on Facebook, wanted it, and ordered him to "go and get it". TIT. Oh!, another thing: there is a thread by "Webfact" on stagflation setting in in Thailand.... -
I don't see the need for your nitpicking here. My point is that I make a single transfer on the first business day day of every year for the total amount of my UN pension of the previous year. I do this to cover my rear side tax wise. So to be constructive I am going to apply with the BOI as soon as they launch the scheme, if I can actually match their requirements. My pension is about 100k I I am under a Corporate Cigna plan, which is unlimited with a maximal copayment of about a 3000 Sfr. I think it will be fun, and I'll keep you posted.
