  1. And I suppose if I ask you to name the 8 best cars in the world you will tell me to do my own ressearch again. Your patriotism is indeed heartwarming. Go uk! I cant wait for the first electric austin marina
  2. Leading the way? Again, show me a british ev. Tesla is leadiing the way, vw is a close second. china other manufaturers also have evs rolling off the line. https://www.statista.com/statistics/541390/global-sales-of-plug-in-electric-vehicle-manufacturers/ between saic and geely-volvo, china has 6 percent of the global market. The uk isnt on the chart. Sovetem doesn't even rate a kickstarter page or a website. as for aerospace, they are present as a respecatble 4th with a revenue of around 18 billion comapered to the us, france and germany at 136, 54 and 42 biion usd respectively. To say they are leading the way is somewhat optimistic. https://www.statista.com/statistics/263290/aerospace-industry-revenue-breakdown/ I have no issues with the uk leading the way. But even in an opium dream, they aren't. Not even close.
  3. Im sorry quoting you directly lacked clarity, and didn't provide you the context you require. Alternatively, I could just ignore the linguistically challenged. (That would be you)
  4. Im sorry you are having trouble understanding words. Thank you for the many screenshots. they confirm I am not mad. Let me recap for you. You said to the op: Maybe your ideas about chinese cars are outdated. I said to you: Maybe their (the op's) ideas about the world were outdated. (It is rather common here on thaivisa.) Now, in case you still don't get it -- I was agreeing with you and taking it one step further by suggesting the op likely has many outdeated ideas. Are we clear? I am sorry to have taxed you.
  5. Funny you should say that. I just goggled sovetem ev. It seems they lack a website or even a wikipedia entry. Set to do big things for sure.
  6. Have they built a car yet? How many do they currently employ? Its great they are shot of the, EU, the tarrifs on every car they sell to europe should bring them a signifcant competitive edge in the tiny european market.
  7. Your reading comprehension is inconstent. Where do I refer to china in the context of the post I responded to or the op? Do try to keep up.
  8. Kinda like the union jacks that often emblazon the entire roofs of the german mini. For the more patriotic amongst you, that must sting.
  9. Many onsite seem unable to accept that manufacturing is a global endeavour, what amuses me is where they draw their lines.
  10. Like bmw with mini and rolls, volvo and lotus with Zhejiang Geely, and bentley with vw plus im sure a few more I missed. britian certainly doent have a rich history of hanging on to its marques. your use of chinaman in another post however is cute. Reminds me of my grandfather, but like Bmc/bl he has been dead for decades. your insitent jingoism would do him proud. don't the indians (tata) own jaguar now? the worm has turned. Hail Brittania. I wonder what is worse, buying a legacy or selling your heritage? It does after all cut both ways.
  11. Maybe thier ideas about the world in general are outdated. Look where you are posting, archaic thinking is hardly uncommon hereabouts.
  12. And a firm grasp of the obvious was demonstrated.
  13. I envy the writer their firm grasp of the obvious.
  14. An asshat is an asshat, professional or otherwise. It doesn't take much time out of my day either way. Besides, I quite enjoy stepping on toes myself.
  15. What a stupid response. ATM, credit card and debit card fraud is worldwide. I also strongly doubt the entire population was involved in this, especially since they were the primary victims. In fact nothing I have seen indicates that this was perpetrated by thais, though if it was kudos for a remarkably tech savvy crime.
  16. If you had looked more carefully you might have also seen that ubiquitous shotgun was rusty, uncared for and likely inoperable.
  17. I dont think it acceptable at all. It is clearly against the current policy and I think 5 years is a pretty reasonable slap on the wrist. With the family and freinds I have here it would be devastsing. Nor do in think a single dolt whose crircumstances I neither know nor care to understand is worth all the strident righteousness you bring to bear on the topic.
  18. Gee smokey, thanks for the language lesson, though despite the fact that you are the ringing voice of reason im hard pressed to understand why you would feel the need to bemoan uk immigration policies here. Perhaps you were using this topic to grind one of your favourite, apparently factual, axes? I sure you had no unspoken agenda, though.
  19. Not sure how they managed to get past the crowds of people frequenting all the other unopen bars in the area to make their arrests. A word to the wise people, only frequent bars with clear cut police connections.
  20. If lisa has any sense, she will steer clear of anything tondo with this government. As for the opera singer, what the absolute fock are they thinking?
