My name is Colin Neville from Dorset, I am not ‘Bob’

If he is from Dorset, then electronics is limited to: red to red and black to black, switch it on and stand well back! -
Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?
herfiehandbag replied to RSD1's topic in Political Soapbox
Ah the eternal dilemma - Donald Trump and the size of crowds! I have suggested before, perhaps Ms Stormy Daniels should be deputised to adjudicate on the matter - she does have some experience in the matter of estimating and describing size! -
Labour's Britain: A Landscape of Bluster and Inaction

I presume that "remediation acceleration" was something to do with the De Lorean car in "Back to the Future"? John Humphreys would have had a field day with that one! -
Have you considered that without that massive immigration (of which Mafia and criminals were a miniscule proportion) the population of the USA would be largely Native American ( brown skinned), Hispanics (brown skinned) and African Americans (brown skinned). The horror! America is entirely built on immigration - with a strong tradition of displacing, oppressing and in many cases slaughtering minority communities. The MAGA enterprise is quite simply an early 21st Century manifestation of those "traditional values", which let us not beat about the bush, are largely racially driven.

I certainly think that was the case until the candidates "down ballot" were decided - Trump certainly wielded the tremendous influence you describe over the various primary and selection processes. Now perhaps not, if he disowns Republican candidates then that may rather open the field to their Democrat rivals. Mind you, I am not sure that his thought process would go that far!

Of course there wasn't, just a Mother's Union meeting which got a bit out of hand! Dr Goebbels would be proud of you! -

I believe that is so - however if he becomes President the pressure on the various states to drop cases will be immense, probably irresistible. . -
The one on November 5th will be absolutely crucial. Frankly, everything else tells whoever commissions it what they want to hear.

Thai doctor vows to create "Hitler Room" to gas hospital smokers

No, no, no! e-cigarettes are harmless (a bloke enveloped in a cloud of steam like a fragrant Stephenson's Rocket told me so) and weed is positively beneficient, alleviates countless conditions, and is good for young children. Anything who says anything else is in the grip of rampaging reefer madness! Perhaps next, drinkers should be locked in a room until they have consumed their own urine? -
Sadly, and it is wrong, but because it happened in Africa, was very largely an internal "Belgian" affair. King Leopold II took and ran the Congo as a private fiefdom, to serve his business cronies. Once their foul behaviour became known in the first years of the 20th Century the Belgian government took it over, stopped the worst excesses and managed it as a conventional colony. It was not as well documented, and did not require, no attract, a major, unprecedented international military and political alliance to defeat the regime which imposed it. King Leopold II's colonial activity was brutal, savage, but not based upon any political, social or really racial creed, it was simply brutally exploitative. None of which excuses it, or justifies modern day holocaust denial.

How much time do I spend ironing? As much as is necessary. Standards my dear fellow, standards! If we let them slip, how will we end up? Chaps will be sleeping in their vests and all sorts of ghastly things like that, quite unconscionable - it is extraordinary how quickly the rot can set in in the tropics if we do not maintain standards! Of course, man made fibres such as polyester ( as I believe they call it) don't need ironing, but no gentleman would wear them, do you wish to be mistaken for a politician? Someone persuaded me to try nylon sheets once - frightful business, terrible elbow burns when cornering!

He does indeed, he has huge legal bills to pay. -
Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?

He has broken the law to suit himself in his personal and business life for years. His wealth protected him. When he moved into politics he continued to do so, but his wealth no longer protected him. In fact his wealth was exposed as something of a paper tiger, yes he has assets but they are so leveraged that he can no longer raise cash on them - he is effectively bankrupt. So now he is running because his political activities allow him to raise cash, delay his legal problems, keep him out of jail for the time being and in the hope that if he wins they will go away. He is running for himself, and to stay out of gaol.- 236 replies
