Harriers are still in use by the Spanish, Italians and the US Marine Corps. The Thais got nine Matadors (Mk1 Harriers) refurbished from the Spanish, and within 2 years there was only one left operational.- 56 replies

The PM has already stated that he wants to wean Thailand off tourism in favour of industrialisation of the Eastern Seaboard in their Eastern Economic Corridor dream. IMF and World Bank fronting up the money for the biggest boondoggle ever. Their vision of a developed country by 2036, again, the PM's words, does not include foreigners in their warped little minds, even though they still won't be able to do anything without foreign investment or expertise, as their education system is so bad that it would take decades to render significant improvements. This tourist tax is just another way for them to continue to pay for their budgets to enrich themselves through 'commissions'. There will be absolutely nothing in terms of benefits for the people that pay it and things will continue as usual.

Naked woman found walking along Sukhimvit in Pattaya late last night

Sounds like a total legend. Didn't even let that get in the way of him having a bevvy. Maybe an old Army buddy of mine. We shat ourselves all the time back then, and boy could we drink. -
As the esteemed former British Ambassador to Thailand Sir Anthony Rumbold said, "Nor do I object to our providing the Thais with various specialist services from time to time. But teaching and in particular language teaching is by far the most important of the fields in which we can help the Thais. Every pound spent would bring more direct benefits to the Thais and indirect benefits to us than many pounds spent on more grandiose engineering or road-building projects. We can leave these to the Americans and the Australians and the World Bank. If we concentrate our little aid effort on education we would be working in a domain in which the Thais have for generations been used to following our lead."

Thaksin hit by storm that could sink Thailand’s main opposition party
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think you got it wrong it was the old guard that were trying to Thai-ify the Malay majority in the South. Do you honestly believe he was 'commander-in-chief' of the Thai armed forces? Maybe in name only. You are still not getting it that the Thai military is above the law here. -

And it was the Army that perpetrated Tak Bai. Thaksin just happened to be PM at the time. -

If history repeats itself, why did you support the coup? The other 16 didn't work out well, why were you under the impression this one would be any different? -
Thailand Named #1 Destination in Asia for Global Retirees

Problem is, when Thais read this garbage they are likely to believe it and think it's true! Probably why their national news outlet is regurgitating it!- 145 replies
