Kiwi Brothers Slapped With 5 Charges For Assaulting Policeman
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Seems the most likely scenario. Hopefully the parents tell the brothers' side of the story to the NZ media, and we get to hear it. Got to be more to it than we are being told. -
Torture, coercion, and extortion is common with the Thai police, see the recent exposure of Joe Ferrari as a prime example. Not sure why folk here are so quick to believe their version of the events. The Deputy Police Chief is currently facing charges of corruption related to an online gambling syndicate. 🫣

Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Statistics in the UK are properly collected and measured, this is not the case in Thailand where deaths in hospital, after an accident are not included. -

Wrong. I was invited, by letter, by the Thai Govt. as a foreign expert to work in their petroleum industry. -

Wrong. Thailand has the death penalty and the method is lethal injection. Prior to October 2003 it was death by firing squad (well, one guy with a machine gun). -

I'm still pretty handy, but I would not have got involved at all. There were hardly any Aussies here even back in the late 90's and early 00's. Mostly Yanks and Brits. -
Looks like a fly tipping area. No way they would be daft enough to have a landfill there.

It is fine if they need foreigners to work on construction sites etc. for less than the minimum wage though, right? -

The locals don't want to do these kinds of jobs. -
Immigration releases statement on crackdowns on foreign offenders
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
There has just been another well publicised incident today involving two foreigners, one a 38yo New Zealander. Apparently, they assaulted a cop after speeding through a Police checkpoint on a motorbike. The cop followed them to a noodle shop, where he was assaulted, and his gun was taken. There's photos of the cop in a headlock and one of the farang brandishing his handgun. The two foreigners have been arrested. This stuff is not gonna be good for us law-abiding farangs for sure. -
I would suggest only 95 and above. Putting 91 in it will damage the engine. Can always go higher, but not lower.

I know a lot of them are deep in debt and like to work selling sexual services as a sideline. Usually on dating apps etc. -

A lot more accidents happen in Thailand, and a lot more people are killed or injured in them. I see accidents daily on my commutes to work and through to Bangkok, something I rarely saw while living in the UK. -

Move Forward Dissolution Bid Part Of Thaksin’s Secret Deal
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Thaksin's Lese Majeste charges won't come to fruition. They would have been part of the bargaining chip to get rid of MFP. A case of better the devil you know for the military. It would not surprise me that retaining the unelected senate is also a condition of his return. It has all been worked out, and the Thai people are being taken for absolute mugs yet again.
