  1. I understand that all Swiss males have to undergo basic military training and keep a weapon at home
  2. It's the Thaiger reporting what do you expect🤣
  3. Yes the owner should pay for illegally blocking access to the beach and this is a way of showing remorse
  4. But he did get a licence which is now revoked and an investigation is ongoing as to how he got it when as you correctly say foreigners are not allowed to own guns. Police corruption seems likely
  5. Wrong man, you are commenting on an entirely different incident not relevant to this thread
  6. Wrong man, you are making an observation about an entirely different person and incident that happened the same week in a different part of the country
  7. Yes, apparently her father is a political activist with Media contacts and influence
  8. Not first class, surely there is room in the wheel wells of the aircraft if he hangs on tight to the landing gear and wraps up warm 🤣
  9. Yup, I'm a devious lateral thinker. Edward DeBono would be proud of me
  10. Probably well deserved It's a dangerous place passengers lose their legs due to dangerous badly maintained machinery. Poor or zero maintenance is a very typical Thai trait. Having said that I found all the staff very helpful and accommodating
  11. Here's a thought, maybe he wants to get locked up as protection from the ex wife's family (if he was as violent with her). Her offer to bail him puts him back on the streets and vulnerable to attack. Also he may have run out of money and can't afford a ticket home so deportation would-be a gift
  12. He is a multi billionaire he can afford his own personal medical team. He can have all transport outfitted to accommodate his medical needs. He can build his own private hospital wherever he goes without making a dent in that fortune. He probably gets better medical care now than before he was released.
  13. Charities are allowed to sell services and make a profit, as long as all the profits are put back into running the charity. As chief exec of the charity he can pay himself anything he like. His salary would classed as part of the running costs. I would wager all the profits go to him as salary.
  14. Understood, thanks Barry
  15. Yes, please post the video others would be interested. I honestly missed the bit where you said you had a video
  16. Not all police are lazy ours are very good. I think the fact that you had no evidence i.e. your word against his was a factor in their lazy behaviour. I also have personal experience of being threatened with a machete, by my noisy next door neighbour. I went to the local police station and made a formal written complaint. Unfortunately I had no video or photographic evidence, just the word of my wife so the case would not have held up in court. However the local police chief paid him a visit and the noise has since stopped.
  17. Unfortunately she isn't legally married to him
  18. I think you are on to something there. Possibly because you must keep twice as much capital in a Thai bank with a retirement visa. My Conspiracy theory is that his superiors have told all staff to try to get farangs to convert to retirement so more money is brought into the country😂
  19. You are wrong. The basic condition of the retirement visa is that you must not work. The visa will be revoked if you do.
  20. Only UK nationals under retirement age need to do this. UK nationals on state pension can enter the country without having to prove their financial status. I also entered the country on a one way ticket it is not a requirement for retirees. The requirement to show financial status is to stop young yobs coming here and causing mayhem, which is apparently what happened before it wss introduced
  21. I sometimes wonder if the victim blamers and Thai bashers on this forum are actually in Thailand. Perhaps they have had a bad experience here and won't come back and now express their hatred from their home countries. I accessed this forum from the UK for 2 years during the COVID lockdown.
  22. So it's the whormoans that caused his behaviour?
  23. Toblerone is no longer manufactured on Switzerland
