  1. Any sort of bastian this country had with it's culture has been slowly erorded these past few years. This will be another kick in the teeth.
  2. Every country has bans on what speech they ban to keep society harmonious ... American the country that has free speech written into their constitution bans the following free speech - incitement to imminent lawless action, true threats, obscenity, defamation... and many more sexual topics. That's not free speech is it then? They are deporting students for supporting Palestine. That's not free speech. Thailand has many laws too on what they will not allow you to say. Essentially what i am finding online is that there is element who clamour this argument for free speech in the UK and America, but what is translates to is, is that they want to be racist and they don't like it how they can't. Most of the free speech laws were not made by Starmer or the current government but years ago. They are designed to protect minorities from racist idiots who can target innocent people for no fault but of the colour of their skin. You go to Germany and you can't say certain things around the Hollocaust. There are strong laws on anti semitism (rightly). Is that a ban on free speech ? Why not just let live and love one another? Why you so hateful ?
  3. I literally a saw hundreds of thousands of farmers protesting against the government in central London a few weeks ago. Now would they be able to protest in Dubai, Singapore, China? Where is this bastion of open free speech you want available to you ?
  4. I'm reading free speech in America is not around anymore with recent arrests. Try and speak freely in Thailand and see what happens. Go to Dubai and try there too. What about China ? Go protest whilst your out there and see what happens. In the UK we can protest say what we want, but just no hate speech - ie racism. Which is fair.
  5. Absolute nonsense. Once you allow 4 to open, that's the box opened. Then slowly with a few backhanders they open everywhere. Mark my words, see Cambodia, there will be regions changed and dedicated to casinos. Wall to wall casinos. Pure filth.
  6. It's a huge tourist draw. Why do they want to get rid of something that brings in tourism? Tourism is there only booming industry.
  7. What happens is that they completely take over. You open pandors boxes and they will build them everywhere. Can you trust the thai administration to curb them? Not a a chance. They'll build so many for Chinese launders that the y will build them on beach zones if they can.
  8. Absolutely nuts. Did they not see the mess in Cambodia ? Singapore is a complete different market. You have executives, bankers, living in Singapore. The visitors to Thailand are cheap mass tourists on budget holidays, with crumbling infrustructure - it's going to do exactly the same as what was happening in Cambodia. When you open this can of worms they will not stop and be building everywhere. Then destruction.
  9. Indian restaurants. Indian tour groups. Indian hotels. Indian nightclubs. Indian restaurants. Everything set up for them. How much of that is going back into the local economy - only they will know. But it's crazy how much of an influx into one city it has become. Even middle class indians i know are appalled.
  10. Tourists have to remember this isn't Magaluf or Ibiza. Awful what's happened. Social media toss pots fuelling this mantra to come to Thailand and live a lawless free party lifestyle. It's all fake nonsense. These tourists do not behave like this in Dubai or Singapore, yet feel embolded to misbehave in Thailand. The policing has been too soft too.
  11. I don't like cats. Or dogs.
  12. Some of the mice are rats. And these cats are terrified of the rats.
  13. Agree its terrible. It depends on how squirmish and disturbing things will become with mice around your home. If you can tolerate them then fair enough, try something else. If they start breeding and you simply cannot even sleep in your home out of fear - then you have to take extreme measures.
  14. Must be the same for Indians. They've turned Pattaya into an Indian city.
  15. Glue boards work. The last thing you want is them breeding.
  16. Dare a lying TikTok 'influencer' to do a video to say 'move to Thailand' again on my feed.
  17. I don't think Thailand is in any position to be hypocritical and lecture anyone or worry about the problems - they actively allow 40 million tourists to use planes to travel into their country. No attempt made for quality tourists, they actively encourage more mass cheap tourism. As a result they are already damaging their beautiful islands and coastlines. Servicing 40 million tourists is a hell hole for the enviromental. Think of where that rubbish, plastic, sewage all go.
  18. Apart from range rovers, scottish whiskey - anything else the UK exports ?
  19. It's the eco system. They start of as Coyote girls who don't go with customers but just dance. They then get older and go with customers. Then they become bar girls. Then as the years advance some end up on the streets, but most will go into massage - which offers a happy medium between a brothel/safety/and a semi profession. Not that i would know.
  20. I didn't mean sexual. I was referring to the poor quality of massages in some areas - particular tourist zones. I've been getting massages long enough to know that when they begin digging in elbows, as opposed to hands, they are tired and it's a short cut. The objects are also sometimes used to be lazy.
  21. The only thing Thaiand is importing from the UK is the Benidorm drunk Brits on a budget holiday, who make no attempt to fix into the local culture, and the older variety being racist.
