Britain’s Leadership Crisis at a Time of Global Peril

Yawn. Britiain along with France have nuclear arms. No one is going anywhere near them ... unless they want mutual destruction also. -
Thailand's Casino Bill Targets Tourism, Limits Local Entry
DonniePeverley replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Tourism tourism EVERYTHING tourism - this is basically a tourist state now. A Population of 60 million being a tourist state is crazy -
What's the law here regarding cannabis use. I get you can buy it, but can you just smoke it openly anywhere you want ? I am sick and tired to the chore of tourists just smoking it around everywhere. I'm walking with family, and you get these morons standing on a pavement just exhaling it of their mouths. Yeah we get it you hip, you are on holiday, but have some respect. Bad enough having to inhale black diesel smoke from those red public busses, then have to walk past these tourists. Is there no enforcement here on smoking marijuana in public ?

Thailand's Tourism Boom: 5.5 Million Visitors and $8B Revenue
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
2024 tourism statisitics INDIA - 13 MILLION VISITORS - income generated from international tourism 38 BILLION (without domestic tourism income) Thailand 35 MILLION VISITORS - income generated from international tourism 48 BILLION (however it is not known if Thailand adds domestic tourism to this total) Tell me Thailand isn't just allowing cheap visitors to wreck this place for hardly much net increase revenue. India also has a soul destroying visa entry requriements to even countries like UK, USA. Thailand's borders are open to the world. THERE IS NO NEED FOR CHEAP MASS TOURISM. Thailand is turning away quality tourists. -
You can't have these harsh enviromental measures that punishes economies - albeit they are well intended - whilst the rest of the world ignores them (or moves very slowly with them). Either the world moves together or you can't punish yourselves. The EU was once level economically with the US, but is now miles behind.

They appear to be targetting instaed Benidorm British crowd, indian sex pests, and draft dodging Russians. The thought of any retireee moving to Phuket with all the mayhem going on there is for the birds, or crazy retirees who haven't thought about everything fully. The tourist policy, with open visas, is ironically turning away quality tourists.

And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal

Where is the utopia where you can have amenities but without the Benidorm Brits ? -

It's not just the sheer number of tourists, but the quality of the tourists. I have never met horrific people like this in my life. It's like you take the worst set of Arabs, the worst set of Indians, draft dodging Russians, and the Benidorm Brits and bring them here to create chaos. -

Thailand's Tourist Boom: 4.8 Million Visitors So Far
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nothing to do with racism. It's to do with managing your countries ability to absorb so many tourists. Thailand's infrustructure cannot cope, and allowing so many people to enter at one time (especially during peak seasons) dilutes local culture to the point it is erased. Throw into that people staying here longer and you are effectively over powering Thailand and it's people. I do understand Thailand wanting to have diplomatic ties to China, and allowing visa free access - but the cost is a huge implosing in crime. The one that makes no sense is the visa removal for India. India does not even let Thai people enter their country without a visa. How can essentially all of Africa require Indians to have a visa, but in Thailand they can just walk in ? That's how crazy it is, no one else has such a generous visa policy as Thailand, and it is this that is creating the chaos. -
Donald......and the rest of the world.

Where's the freedom of speech in Russia ? He never mentions that. Didn't he sue Bill Maher too for something he said, which was a joke. Where was the freedom of speech there? Lets face it ... all this talk of wanting 'freedom of speech' is just another way of saying 'we want to be racist openly'. -
Tourist Brawl in Phuket Sparks Debate on Visitor Behavior - video
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
That's one of the issues. The soft policing approach, terrified to upset tourists. It's ruining life for those who don't get drunk and look for violence, or break the law. -

Looks like the Benidorm British crowd. Influenced by social media to come to Thailand instead of fighting in Benidorm or Magaluf. -

Feel for those who bought condos and moved here. Now unable to sell those condos. Most just getting offers to rent out only. This place is ghastly now. Thanks Sretta -
Thailand's Tourist Boom: 4.8 Million Visitors So Far
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The numbers are true. What is more misleading is that these are cheap tourists from cheap countries with low GDP's. Despite China's power in the world, the average GDP per person is still very low. India's GDP per person is even lower than Thailands. -
Thai PM Considers Easing Alcohol Sales Rules to Boost Tourism
DonniePeverley replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
How much more tourism do they need to boost ? We are already seeing Phuket being descimated by unruly behaviour, and now they want to add fuel to it. Horrific.
