The UK offers dual citizenship for the racist pensioners in Pattaya. Realise Thailand and many countries would not offer this as soon as you leave their shores. 10 of the best universities in the world are in the UK, and 18 in the top 50, with very little to pay for UK citizens. Compare that to Americans paying up to $60,000 a year to study ! See what Thais have to pay. Free health care through taxation. These racist pensioners in Thailand know full well they have the security of returning home. Compare that to Americans who require insurance and lose everything if they leave. It's the income in the UK and generous Benefits that allows you to live a life of calm in Thailand. And you know who is picking up the tab in the UK to do the hours you don't want to do - it's migrants. Now go away.

Relocating to Chiang Mai, worried about burning season
DonniePeverley replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Chiang Mai
That's devastating to hear, as whilst reading up on homes etc we really began to like it. April isn't too bad as we can leave, but February, March is awful. And some are rite, how can you live in indoors like that ? What would be the point in actively going into that type of zone. Still trying to work it out. -

So it seems March and April are an absolute disaster in Chiang Mai. With January and February being bad too, but similar to Bangkok. -

Things that annoy you in Thailand

To get into the UK from India you need to go through a torturous visa process, meaning you tend to get a better quality of visitor. Thailand lets anyone in. -

Benidorm Brits. Horny Indian men who have no shame in soliciting infront of families. Racist British guys in Pattaya pontificating about immigration and Brexit. Cheap backpackers who take up much needed tourism space. Follow the flag lemmings. Taxi drivers. 'Influencers' who lie about the cost of living in Thailand and sell unrealistic expectations. The group involved in removing all visa restrictions. -
Report British Woman Arrested at Heathrow for Cannabis Smuggling
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
By that logic then other countries should just allow vast swathes of illegality to enter Thailand then? There is usually international law and order protocols to this. Plus i imagine if there are any fines to administer they are taken in Thailand. Unless of course there is some other explanation why they keep missing all these large quantities .... -
Finance Foreign Nationals Face Account Bans in Bangkok Bank Crackdown
DonniePeverley replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Bloke in my condo was telling me his app been locked. Turns out his account is set to be closed. He used the DTV had an agent open his account. Now has to fill in reports to try and get his money out. I've always said do not put in large volumes into a bank account here if you are doing through 'illegal routes -
Report British Woman Arrested at Heathrow for Cannabis Smuggling
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This is becoming absurd now. It's clear there is some crime syndicate involved. Thailand clearly has a problem at it's airports with detecting this sort of thing. How can you miss this volume ? -
The US has massive lawsuit nature with regards to free speech. Go say something against someone and you will be sued. Try supporting Palestine and see what happens over there openly. There is no such thing as free speech there. Is there free speech in China, India? There are curbs on free speech in Thailand too. These are just trouble makers online who are pushing this narrative that the US intends to take action on these matters, on the usual social media platform. It's utter nonsense. FREE SPEECH usually means I WANT TO BE RACIST. Me thinks the broader picture is that there are US social media apps (obvious which few) who are fearing regulation and heavy fines are coming for them.

You will struggle in a court room as airbnb rental is illegal in Thailand. However, your 'landlord' will also struggle as like i said it's legal to rent out short term like this.
