Thanks. I'm over 60, had Zostavax and would get Shingrix in a heartbeat once travel eases. Zostavax seems pretty useless in my case.
-
Yes, I will go when all the COVID restrictions are gone, maybe in years to come. My Thai hospital said it could take 10 years for Shingrix to come to Thailand, they had no idea. I wonder how global authorities can allow GSK sole monopoly over this vaccine if they cannot keep up with demand? Maybe in time to come someone will post experience of where they got this jab from their Thailand base cost effectively.
-
Everyone in the US over 50 is recommended to get this but AFAIK it's not available in Thailand and not sure it ever will be? So where do Thailand based people go? Singapore? Anyone with experience recommendations, hospital names, for cheapest options? I understand its two jabs so would mean two return international flights. Tried the local based Zostavax alternative (now stopped in US) and not impressed. According to Google: Shingrix is a non-live, recombinant subunit vaccine approved in the United States, Canada, EU, UK, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore to help prevent shingles (herpes zoster) in people aged 50 years or older.

They got people living in tents on Koh Pangan? -
Is this the paid for Moderna's from registrations back in June? I registered then before any expat vax government services has started and THG only accepted my Thai ID# at time, not my foreign passport. I have since been given a vaccine ID# from two free govt jabs using my passport ID. Does THG match the two ID systems to give you one vaccination certificate like you seem to have in the photo?

AFAIK there are prepaid cards (debit cards) and credit cards. Never heard of prepaid credit cards. Although perhaps you refer to credit cards where you need a fixed deposit upfront as collateral? I have both a debit card and a credit card of this type from K-Bank. You just have to leave 50kTHB in a fix dep account for the credit card. The debit card just works as long as there's any balance in a savings account.
-
Sorry if this is a daft question, must be having a brain fart! I've got 50,000THB in a fixed account used for a KBank credit card. AFAIK I can go to a ATM take cash out on credit (say 5000 THB) with the credit card and put the cash in my other KBank savings account. Can I do the whole process online instead of going to an ATM? If so how - cannot seem to find any way on the web site? Thanks.

is booster vaccine required after two Astrazena jabs?
Hamus Yaigh replied to fvw53's topic in Health and Medicine
You will need a 3rd jab only when the govt has any stock to give. Until now there is none with only 70% of country done first jab. -
MorPhrom App not working? Where to get vaccine cert?
Hamus Yaigh replied to Hamus Yaigh's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
If I try today, mine works on WiFi again! The logon/pwd page pops up for a split second, but then the app automatically logs me in. -
MorPhrom App not working? Where to get vaccine cert?
Hamus Yaigh replied to Hamus Yaigh's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Thanks guys that helps. It seems the app now only work with mobile data. I was using it off the home WiFi always before. I needed access as I got a booster jab #3 last week and only way I know of getting vaccine booster cert is to screen grab the cert off of this MorPhrom app as they give you nothing on paper at the vaccination center (Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok). -
Does Mor Phrom app still work? I tried yesterday and it logged me straight in with displays of my vaccine certs, but then it says there's a new version of app? Now when I try it doesn't log me and asks for ID# and password? I have no idea what pwd is supposed to be, don't recall having one before. If I select forgot password, it asks for ID# and phone number to send an SMS to. I enter both and nothing happens. For ID# I use the Thai ID number assigned by vaccine authorities as this is what used to display next to my name when the app worked.

Opposite side of what? You get off BTS heading north east into Morchit and A12 in on same side on street below?
-
I just did. It's quite clear on the web site. Foreigners with 2 Sinovacs can sign on for a AZ booster. All others won't be allowed. You cannot control the situation in a country that has limited vaccines and doesn't have any other stock. Only way if you want to pick and choose is to get your own in another country, You come across as an authority on this when most likely you aren't? Your confusion at @Will B Goods post about getting a Sinovac jab as being better than nothing compounds this thought. It's not a buyers market, you get what you are given end of. Personally I'd rather be vaxed than not. YMMV.

80,000 Thai truckers to go on strike on Monday over diesel prices
Hamus Yaigh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai truckers going on trike in Thailand is nothing to do with Thailand? -
Agreed. In our area the regular school fees of 53,000THB per term were not dropped for the entire period of home schooling. Parents were expected to pay this to secure exam results and passes through next term. They did so and then promptly removed their kids from the school. Sad. Big school and lots of interaction of kids. Now it's home schooling at a quarter the fees or less with another provider.
-
Many kids in our area of Bangkok went to a private English language school nearby with foreign teachers. The school would not reduce fees at all and have changed to home schooling since start of year. Many parents have now withdrawn their kids for other cheaper online alternatives going forward next term.

COVID Vaccination Experiences - please post here
Hamus Yaigh replied to Sheryl's topic in Health and Medicine
Thanks, good to know its recognized by MOPH. So all I need is my Thai partner 'to arrange' a booster like you, as the current registration process for foreigners / Mor Phrom apps doesn't allow for boosters! -
Phuket immigration very strict on retirement extension requirements

Well that's not true is it? He has to make a small deposit or withdraw on the day of the bank letter and update the passbook on the day of extension to shown current balance is still valid. -

Thanks - did you do this with same pink card ID? Did the AZ booster jab get added to the MorPhrom app?
