  1. Surely Paveena has her wires crossed on this one? The mother left her child with the rapist step grandfather who just happened to be a security guard? He could have had any job but would still have been a child rapist in the family.
  2. It appears after a phone call chat to NatWest there is an alternative account type that will continue to have no fees for international users so I will go with that for now using Thailand as my mail address. I have only a small deposit so fees made no sense to me. I sometimes find it useful having a traditional bank as their statements can be used as proof of my address.
  3. Not sure why this is in the business forum and not the jokes section? But to your ludicrous point, if you bought BTC at its ATH you'd be down 40% in less than 3 months. It has no intrinsic value, and is just based on the hope someone will pay more for it that you did. That's not rocket science either.
  4. It depends on the juristic office rules? In our condo there is absolutely no renovation noise allowed outside hours of 10am-4pm on a weekday and non on weekends. That was when people didn't work from home, might have changed since. I was working from home and the neighbor was renovating drilling and vibrating the walls so much items fell off my shelves. Our walls are not thin, I cannot hear the neighbors otherwise. You're meter won't be of any use in such cases. It's bloody obvious when you will p off the neighbors.
  5. Correct, money in bank method at CW. I do the bank statements because when I previously sat down to do my extension, armed with just a bank letter and copy of bank book, the immigration officer told me to go and get a statement. I wasn't exactly going to say to her that DrJack54 has been telling us since forever they aren't required?
  6. My NatWest bank in the Channel Islands, under new policy, is about to start monthly charges since my account is classed as International and using my Thailand mailing address. Until now it was always free. I am looking for alternatives with no fees. Is Wise a good idea? What would be the drawbacks of using Wise Account vs traditional bank account?
  7. How does this help the op when you @DrJack54 keep banging on and on about not needing statements for retirement extensions over many threads? I do my extensions at CW, just like you, and statements are required, we aren't all the same. I tried the KBank PDF statements, they were available for 12 months using the phone app before when the web site only offered six months history before the update mentioned by op. However the PDF prints by me were not acceptable as the bank has to do them for you and sign them as true. I showed my PDF's to the bank and they rejected them saying the process costs 200THB, must be done by a teller, and it's that or nothing.
  8. Wise advice based on your comprehensive medical background I'm sure. But I would say in Thailand you get what you are offered, as they aren't exactly rolling them all off the production lines here themselves to pick and choose.
  9. Currently I am getting LINE messages from a Thai Hospital in a chat forum all in Thai language and all in a large images. Like a screen capture of a Word doc saved to jpg before sending that has nothing but lines of text in it. I've seen this on web sites as well. Now I have to do an OCR on it and try and extract the text data to a translate app.
  10. Why? My guess would be because you cannot find an ATM and have no cash?
  11. Just curious why do so many Thai web sites and Line Accounts use graphics for text? Why don't they just use text (in this case in Thai) like the rest of the world? At least then the browser translators would work!
  12. I have a Wise account in GBP and USD. The web site says 'We’re sorry, cards haven’t reached Thailand yet' and has been like that for years.
  13. That's because opinions are only true by those that hold them and how does it help matters? How about more statements on getting the teacher home in her unfortunate situation. She seems like she needs help.
  14. It's got nothing to do with 'rubbish immigration offices' that you mentioned. It all depends on how the bank accounts are used. If the account bank book has many consolidations, as did mine in the past, a full itemized 12 months statement is needed. Each person is different and not the same as @DrJack54. In fact my next visit will be different to my previous and I will not provide a 12 month statement as I have now since opened an account solely for immigration with no significant withdrawals or deposits all year long that will be each itemized in the bank book alone.
  15. Yes. It is all explained in posts prior to yours.
  16. Not sure if you've overdone the Xmas turps but what a ludicrous comment! Besides that I do my annual extensions at CW and they also insist on a 12 months of statements from my bank along with the bank book.
  17. I don't think anyone allows access to money you don't have? Credit cards all need collateral of some kind. Those with a regular job may use that, others need a fixed account in a bank. I have both a CREDIT and DEBIT card from my Thai bank. They are not the same, a hotel check in made that clear to me.
  18. As expected the black Pajero driver sees it clearly, brakes and still crashes into it.
  19. If its his 3rd extension money needs to be in the bank all year using the 800/400k rules, not just 3 months as you surmise?
  20. Exactly. Not surprised: at all with the colorful use of skin color in these news reports. Tone deaf comes to mind. Surprised: Omicron has to be in quotes.
  21. Isn't the new online 90d report system supposed to fix that error of theirs?
  22. This is worse than before with old system, at least with old system we got rejected immediately?
  23. Thanks. I'm over 60, had Zostavax and would get Shingrix in a heartbeat once travel eases. Zostavax seems pretty useless in my case.
