  1. Perhaps the Thai baht is overpriced? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index
  2. Thanks. I should still have until Apr next year to renew normally, but I will do a walk in as I cannot predict when I can make appointment with various travel plans ahead. I will try this week and report back on success or not.
  3. I have a QR code for passing the driving license video from about 4 months ago and at the time made a booking online for a September appointment at Bangkok#3 DLC. However I cannot find a record for the appointment now or know how to retrieve it online? Is it possible? I visited https://gecc.dlt.go.th/ which seems to only offer options to make a new appointment in months to come. The site also seems to remember my pp number/name but I used my Thai ID# when I booked the appointment as I couldn’t see how to use pp# at the time. Should I just go and get a medical and do a walk in? Will they take me on any day? I cannot go in September now anyway as I will now have to be away at that time. My 5Yr DL expired last April.
  4. I've heard of Tukcom but not TUTCOM if that helps?
  5. Sorry, I thought you meant you honestly believed water alone could not do this. The Hamster video above is clear.
  6. Your answer is in the o/p. No storm water management control to start with.
  7. I've recently had a 5th jab, all from the Thai govt free of charge, started with the two Sinovacs which was all there was at first. Main reason is its a condition of employment required for occasional work in my field which is overseas and requires an up to date vaccine record to be considered. I need to feed the wife and kids, 'nuff said. I couldn't give a hoot about the anti and pro vax agenda driven narratives.
  8. It's a monopoly of brown envelopes as its the key route out of Bangkok to the south. The construction projects never end.
  9. We live in the NE of Bangkok district. They still have rice fields nearby and it is very pleasant, so you don't have to live in another province to find quiet. Just hear the birds in the garden/parks. It takes 40 minutes to drive into the CBD along expressway when not peak time, but we tend to park and ride the BTS if we have to come in, which isn't very often these days.
  10. They have regulations in my condo that there should be no gas cooking. They haven't put a ban on EV charging yet. Just a matter of time I guess.
  11. Crypto value is based on a greater fool theory. It's value is hoped to increase based on some fool paying more than you did. There just aren't enough fools around these days with money to burn.
  12. Agreed, and this was my point. The o/p doesn't state any of this. It does state however: Preferable to getting drafted into a genocidal war.
  13. But the op says "The airline’s Moscow-Phuket service was suspended in March following the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which triggered European Union sanctions against Russia, including aviation sanctions. " so Thailand must have followed the sanctions until now?
  14. If nothing has changed, which I agree - nothing has changed the Russians are still invading another country, why isn't the news article quote above still in place and sanctions still in place?
  15. The war is still happening so what's changed?
  16. I am wondering why a former professional snooker player is involved!
  17. Probably missed a few of those missiles dropped by the Tatmadaw as well since the coup last year.
  18. My money is on a new one being built. There's more money in it. The Rama 2 road is a never ending construction site, I have never driven it in the past 30 years without some road works some where or other.
  19. I read the full story in o/p and no where does it say the flight from DMK took 4 hours! If anything it took 7 years? Such is the standard of news reports we rely on. >> "the decision to evacuate the passengers was made more than an hour after the 7-year-old Nok Air flight DD108 skidded off the runway."
  20. This is in Thai but it seems to imply the passengers were stuck on board for ages as "the official stressed that it is a rule of thumb to not stand on the runway. Plus it's raining now afraid to get wet However, everyone insists that they are not afraid of getting wet." Surely after a runway excursion like this the crew must enable a fast evacuation of the aircraft within the regulated 90 seconds in case of fire?
  21. What difference does it make what they are bombarded the world with? They shouldn't be bombarding us with anything. There are already international space norms for breakup of space junk so that it mostly burns up before hitting the ground, and the Chinese are notorious for ignoring this in their rocket designs. They also have most of their country lying outside the current hit zone.
  22. Why not phone them and ask - their help line is very good? KBank has been around 77 years, why would you think it will fail you now you are building a house? I am sure there are many other pitfalls to worry over in that respect.
  23. I am guessing based on the original post you are not qualified in medical sciences. Therefore why question those that are? Just get jabbed like the rest of us.
