  1. I said "product shrinkage", not "shrinkage".
  2. Your posting history suggests otherwise... Incidentally what was the purpose of italicizing the word "are"??
  3. And I have my own personal rule of not sending sensitive documents via an insecure email channel to a company I don't trust.
  4. I always feel honoured when I get a response from Captain Pedantic. Thank you ????????????. I refuse to send a copy of my passport to Lazada, yes. There is no justification in asking for it in the first place.
  5. Who say? Anyway, giving in the hope that you will receive something in turn isn't kindness, it's investment.
  6. When did this buzz term get invented? I'd always known it as "product shrinkage". Anyway, regardless of how you label it, it's not a new phenomenon by any means. (also what does any of this have to do specifically with Chaing Mai?)
  7. Sorry. I understand that you only quoted the first line of my post when you originally replied to me, but I was working under the clearly -erroneous assumption that you had actually read the entirety of the post. My bad.
  8. They refuse to issue a refund to me for an order that is showing as "packed" via any payment method/wallet/voucher unless I send them a copy of my passport. I agree that service is generally good, but this semi-fringe case seems to be totally unaccounted for in their procedure guide.
  9. Right. So Tories 0 and Labour 1. Pretty much backs up exactly what I was saying...
  10. A person would need to be naive to question a claim based soley on assumptions with zero evidence to back it up? If that's your definition of naive then sure, I'm naive as they come ????‍♂️
  11. No. The OP said that he's glad that he has made people think. I see no evidence of that. If he just believes that he has made people think without seeing any evidence then he should state that it's his belief, rather than state it as fact It helps to read a post and, if necessary, spend some time trying to understand it in context, before replying to it.
  12. Unfortunately not necessarily true. I ordered a brand-name mouse in January. The official store immediately set the description of the product to "packed" so that I couldn't cancel. The product has yet to ship and Lazada refuse to refund me unless I send them a copy of my passport.
  13. I wouldn't count them. Why would I?
  14. You seem to both believe that you're smarter than everybody else, and also take delight in that belief. Congratulations, you'll fit in here just fine if you ever actually make it. I find it alarming that you work in a hospital. Do you make the same kind of comments to the patients?
  15. Can you quote any post that shows people have "thought and taken notice about life"? All I see is a bunch of posts on the topic from people who have clearly already spent the time thinking on the topic, and a bunch of posts pointing out what a shotty thing it is to say to people. I of course haven't read the thread in depth so I'm happy to be proven wrong. Please feel free to validate your claim by quoting some posts where people are considering the topic for the first time because of something you've said.
  16. This seems poorly timed to me. While the chances of this happening are still probably remote even under a Labor government, there's absolutely no way the lot in charge right now would ever agree to it.
  17. No he doesn't. You know that movie isn't a documentary, right?
  18. Considering your own mortality is fine. Going around telling others that they are going to die soon isn't.
  19. Randomly telling people that they'll die soon, when they are most likely already well aware of that fact has nothing to do with "being a realist". It's called "being a (censored)" (edit... Bold font nothing to do with me...)
  20. I managed to get an Ed Visa while having previously had a Non-B in my passport. The ed wasn't directly after the non-b (about 18 months had passed between the non-b expiring and the ed being issued), so I don't know if that makes any difference.
  21. I would imagine the shock is more to do with the fact that you've made a wholey inappropriate statement than anything else. Who on earth goes around reminding people that they're going to die soon?
  22. Why would the flight have to originate from the UK? There's nothing to say that Thailand needs to be the first stop on your travels. Even if it did need to be from the UK you could always buy a ticket from the UK to Thailand and then get a refund or change your destination. I wouldn't imagine that there are many people who don't make any transactions in their home country while travelling but, again, why would a traveller need to proove that they're spending money in their home country? I'm not debating that. I just don't think that the documents that you listed as being potentially problematic would actually be so.
  23. @georgegeorgia Are you in Thailand? I can't really make out from your posting history what your motivation is. You just seem to enjoy pointing out where you believe people have gone wrong. Are you perhaps trying to vindicate the decision to pass up on an opportunity to move here in the past?
  24. How is that fine?
