  1. I went to a restaurant where they served the food in this manner. In far less ridiculous quantities, thankfully.
  2. I personally would be much more concerned if she did know all about the visa options available to foreigners...
  3. "I flocked up my time living in Thailand, and am unable to believe that anybody else could possibly have done a better job of it than me" A little narcissistic, don't you think?
  4. You can have plenty of fun on a 1000bt/day budget. Just not every day.
  5. I'm not sure if the alcoholism aspect is fiction, or not. Of course the person in question likes to troll. But is the alcohol dependency part of the fiction, or is it what triggers the trolling behaviour in the first place. Anyway the person has had plenty of people try to reach out to him. They've had plenty of good advice and chosen not to take it. What more do you want to do to help? People are often self destructive. Unless they really want to change, then they won't.
  6. He's suggesting that the viewer/photographer is not turned on so much by what is on display in the pictures. Instead they are turned on by the fact that they're not "supposed" to have access to what they're seeing.
  7. The last three orders I made from grab, the status has gone from "in the kitchen" to "out for delivery" and then very quickly, before the bike has even moved, the status changes to "delivered". I contact the driver and always get the same message "I pressed wrong". The driver always eventually delivers my food (so far) but it's annoying having to message back and forth to get things sorted. Has anyone else noticed this happening? Or did I just get unlucky three times in a row. It's possible that the driver's app has changed recently for the worse, causing the drivers to accidently update the order status. But it's also possible that drivers have realised they can jump the queue by behaving in this way. Any thoughts?
  8. I think what's going on at the conference is going go be too much for Sunak. I don't see him having any choice but to call a general election. Unless he really believes he can hold his nerve and hang it out and get his India deal sorted before facing a no-confidence vote, he may as well save face and go out on his own terms. (bold font nothing to do with me)
  9. It's such a ridiculous question there's no point me really answering it. I'm sure you'll come up with yet another ridiculous response. I'll indulge you this time but then I'm done... If we had to ensure all current circumstances were 100% identical to a previous situation before we learned anything, we'd never be able to learn anything at all. History teaches us (those of us who are genuinely interested in learning) that dictators are never satisfied and appeasing them only stands to make them feel vindicated in their quest. History tells us that no war-hungry leader has ever stopped after conquering a single territory.
  10. Maybe "many of us" have learnt from history....
  11. That's how I expected things to work. The poster I originally quoted said that he was able to start the bike while the fob was still in his house.
  12. So in summary, you don't mind your friends calling you a cant. But you do have issues with Thais calling you Mister?
  13. Okay I guess. Although I suppose it could gradually come to a halt over time. When I briefly rented a keyless bike the ignition was, as far as I recall, was just an on-off switch. What's to stop the theif turning the switch, and then starting up the bike when you're in a shop?
  14. @AhFarangJa has already called you up on the numbers, but even if your claim were true, the big difference is that @Crossy is much less likely to jump over you with dirty paws (without any prior invitation) then proceed to slobber all over you or, indeed, all over the products that you may choose to purchase. I will not be shopping at Lotus any more. I doubt they'll miss my custom, unfortunately. I'm sadly pretty sure that this will appeal to far more people than it puts off.
  15. This is concerning. This surely can't be the way it's supposed to work? Otherwise anybody popping into a 7/11 would be at risk of somebody getting onto their bike and riding off. I thought that these things were supposed to have extremely short range?
  16. Even if it was possible, which we've already established it isn't, no bar girl has enough money spare to pay the sort of money that would be needed to get you on an immigration blacklist!
  17. Not to mention small prizes are paid automatically into your bank account anyway. I think only prizes of 100,000gpb (I could be wrong on the exact threshold...) need to be claimed in person. And that sort of money is worth getting on a plane for.
  18. Is this in addition or as a replacement for the existing lottery?
  19. Go and find 300 random Thais on the street and offer them an Indian curry for 80bt. I doubt you'll get a single taker. I doubt you'd even be able to give them an Indian curry for frew. Indain food is not popular here for a variety of reasons.
  20. I don't believe the gap exists, so I certainly won't be going for it.
  21. I don't have a wife I don't know if @scubascuba3 has one or not, but when he said that prices "need" to come down, I assumed he was talking about restaurant prices.
