  2. Here? In thailand? Good one. Situational awareness. Look around, if most thai people are wearing masks, wear a mask. If they're not, feel free to go maskless. Health minister admonishing foreigners for not accepting masks....
  3. Wow, I haven't seen the Asean Now crowd so up in arms about what one black man did since Colin Kaepernick took a knee. Chris Rock crossed a line. Will Smith did too. I'll refrain from casting one of my limited supply of stones on this one.
  4. Looks like he's taking a tablet? Paxlovid? Favipiravir? Sildenafil? And what's with the garlands? Are those stinkbeans? Time for a fifth rebranding of the "party'?
  5. None of your assumptions/statements relate to an eSIM per se, other than the installation thing. It's just a software SIM, enabled within your phone by your service provider, saving you the bother of finding a physical SIM and isntalling it. All other actions are the same. Just make sure your new phone supports the eSIM from your provider(s). No. No. No. No.
  6. No. No, not currently. Can you share any background? Using the SCB Easy app, or web portal? What are you trying to do? Transfer, Trade (SET), or pay a bill? Do you have a thai mobile number on record with SCB? I could not use the app on a new thai phone number until I registered it with SCB. Is this because you are presenting a non Thai IP address? I can access my SCB account via the app and web without any 2FA. 2FA (SMS) was required to install the app initially. In theory/practice, assuming you had a thai mobile number registered with SCB, and had international roaming and/or WiFi calling enabled, you could receive a 2FA SMS OTP in the U.S. from https://cms.scbsonline.com/2FA/2FA_detail.html Prepare before using 2FA Due to 2-Step Authentication (2FA), OTP must be used via the mobile phone number that the customer has informed to the company. Therefore, if the customer's phone number is incorrect or is a foreign number will not be able to access the investment system If the customer has changed their mobile phone number or using a foreign number Please update your mobile phone number with SCBS up to date. and is a mobile phone number in Thailand only and recommend that you act immediately
  7. My guess is that this a daily or single transaction limit imposed by your card provider. I'd review the card agreement where these details are normally covered. WISE clearly shows their fee(s). Visa and MC do have an uplift from the mid-market rate, ~ 0.2xxx %. Right now 36,000 THB would draw 981.77 Euros from your bank account via WISE (low cost transfer), and 981.62 Euros via a VISA-issued teller advance. Obviously you need a local bank account to utilize WISE.
  8. Yes. Seeds, of any type, kind, source, are surprisingly legal, at least until 9 June. This loophole has been in place for a long time, and is related to "bird food" I've been led to believe. I think this loophole will be closed. You could probably still source higher quality seeds via the illegal grey market. So people have been able to legally source seeds, either domestically or from abroad. Advertised openly on FB. CBD-dominant plants/seedlings are a result of imported seeds as there are no high CBD "local" strains. I think the home-grow plan is to provide approved seedlings and/or seeds? At least that's what I've seen mentioned in articles recently.
  9. The larger visa agencies have employees. At least one popular agency reported (March 2021) that one of their employees had been stealing from customers, other agency employees and even the co-owner for "five months". I'm reluctant to post a link to that story. So things can be stolen. And seen quite a few reports of passports being temporarily lost, and even passports switched - given to the wrong person, both at immigration and from agents. Personally I'd ask the agent what they recommend I do in this case? Can the passport be found, perhaps by paying an extra fee? Or is it truly lost, and is it OK for me to file a police report and apply for a new passport?
  10. ...under provisions yet to be announced, but which in draft form call for registration BEFORE growing. The registration process has yet to be detailed but is expected to involve many, many, many ministries, agencies, local administration and police. Those who plant without asking for permission, will be sentenced to imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 300,000 or both imprisonment and fine. Registration fee is not specified yet. "Flowers", or any bit with a THC content of greater than 0.2% can only be grown for sale to the GPO or other approved "medical" entity. I've seen, and posted, some of the draft ministerial regulations, and - it should come as no surprise - the rules and regulations are quite involved, and anyone who was expecting full legalization on 9 June 2022 will be disappointed. Why they're doing this, in this manner, is beyond me. Just when I thought I understood most things thai, they throw a curveball, most surprisingly when they don't have to. Ministerial Regulations for Permission and Permission to Manufacture, Import, Export, Sell or Have in Possession of Narcotics of Category V, Only Marijuana, B.E. MR_summarizeCannabis261164V3.pdf
  11. Another calendar marker... The Offer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyAXDLrY1gw Paramount + First three eps drop on April 28. Ten eps total. About the making of The Godfather.
  12. Perhaps he/they have experience being arrested? Maybe because of a bit of "gardening"?
  13. Can't wait to see this, Apple TV+, six eps, first drops on 1 April (reviewers have seen the first two eps) Slow Horses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9ZJChzPn0U
  14. Explainer from local thai pro-cannabis activist and businesswoman, Chokwan Kitty Chopaka, posted today on her FB page: After almost one month of explaining, clarifying, answering questions and even arguing with non-locals and locals alike regarding Cannabis in Thailand. I've come up with a simple explanation/answer to all those questions that is understood by all... "It's election season again" Clarification to that statement: - Yes, Cannabis will be removed from "Schedule 5 Narcotics" on the 9th June but THC is still listed in "Schedule 2 Psychotropic Substances" where having it in your system can still result in prison time and fines. - No, Cannabis is not decriminalised in Thailand, with reason as above. - No, patients can't grow 6 plants and use them within the household, due to difficulty licensing process where even if they were permitted the flowers will be given to the hospital to be made into medicine, where the patient can then access it via doctor's prescription. - No, you can't grow Cannabis at home. Currently there's many cases of arrest for production of Schedule 5 Narcotics such as, a grandmother got arrested for growing 1 cannabis plant. - Yes there are licensed Cannabis producers in Thailand, but they have to invest in the licensing process and grow facility then donate all of the flowers to the hospital to be made into medicine. They can then sell the leaves/stems/branches/roots to make an income. - Not all Cannabis oils and tincture (CBD and THC) that you see around Thailand that's being sold online or at random shops are legal, some may be legal as raw ingredients but not considered as consumer product legally ie. No FDA approval, use at your own risk. For legal medical oils and tincture usually you will need to get prescribed from a legal cannabis clinic and the products are produced from government departments or hospitals. Also beware of fake clinics, or real clinics that prescribed illegal products. But I see cannabis café everywhere!!! Cannabis Leaves, Stems, Branches and Roots are legal from licensed producers in Thailand for consumption. Hopes that helps explain things.
  15. SCB Easy runs fine on Android 11 and 12. No recent comments on the PlayStore re: problems. So pretty sure this is specific to the OP. Says Android 6 or higher. I did just update my mobile number, installed the app on my new phone and it works fine. I think you need to be on a mobile data network rather than WiFi at initial registration. And you need to be using the number/SIM associated with your SCB account. No clue what the OP's issue is? Need to see the error message. I have to say, SCB is much easier to deal with re: providing service at a branch other than your home branch. Bangkok Bank, at least for me, always decline service after looking at my branch prefix.
  16. In this climate? Saran wrap would be more breathable.
  17. I've been buying these for a while, sizing is western (U.S.) and accurate. https://www.limillustbkk.com/gildan-ultra-cotton The premium cotton version is a bit "lighter". They have Hanes, Champion, Fruit of the Loom. Gazillions of other retailers on Facebook. I've been buying short-sleeve shirts on FB at auction (new, but factory-seconds I think) for a while. Awesome stuff, name-brand ready-to-wear, bids start at 80 baht. I'd ask the price at the tailor for twelve, then report back. We'll advise if it's "fair". What is your budget?
  18. Don't let them leave this time until you can successfully connect all devices to the "new" router. Both WiFi and wired. Write down the names of the two WiFi networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and the passwords. Write down the router address (probably 192.168.1.1) and the username and password for the router. They were from 3BB? I suspect it's a simple configuration issue, but a new router won't hurt.
  19. What does the message say, exactly? Android? If yes, Android version? When did you last use it successfully? Current SCB EASY Android version is 3.53.0, updated March 17, 2022. Long press on the icon, press "i", force stop the app, then open. Update the app. You have the same SIM/phone number as you did when the app last worked?
  20. The largest shareholder anyway. In the vein of the Rabbit Card, how about a Dragon Coin?
  21. What is "This"? Exporting cannabis? To other Asian countries? Yeah, good luck with that. Or do you mean encouraging tourists from other Asian countries to come to thailand to smoke ganja? Yeah, good luck with that.
