  1. looks like he stayed at hotel very close to an intersection he fornicated. How stupid of him, as cctv cameras are on all the major roads and especially intersections. Still, it took police several days to go through all recordings. Most probably tens of officers spend hundreds of hours to solve the case which ended with 5k fine. Yet less time they put into serious crime, including road accidents, happening in Pattaya
  2. instead of giving warm new year encouragements and congratulating his subordinates for job well done in the past year, he instead gives strange warnings to public and his agencies. How would it boost public confidence in an organised celebrations, if he talks about fires, brawling, drugs and weapons? He even points to hotels as venues, where there is a risk of those dangers happening, as if hotels are not suppose to be safe place of rest and entertainment through all year. His nasty attitude is surely dampening joyful celebration mood. What he failed to mention, unlike Prayuth, as well as some governmental agencies, that princess is hospitalised since 14th december and her state is unclear. Prayuth said he wan't celebrate NY because of that going on. Those agencies ordered cancelling parties. Imagine what effect such ministerial statement and news titles "No ban" had on public in some other countries around the world. There would be outrage he involves himself in matters beyond his competence
  3. shame that this whistle blower is charged with premeditated murder of Billy in 2014. Billy was Karen community activist organising against forceful eviction from their lands within the national park https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/national/40018923 Chaiwat was discharged from service earlier on, when first charged in that murder in 2020. How he knows details of what's going on within his former employer? For how long he knew about it? Why he did not disclose it at time he first knew (or participate) in that corruption scheme? Whistle blower is usually an insider who is clean from corruption or any wrongdoing. But it's clearly not the case with Chaiwat. More like revenge against his former employer
  4. if there is war escalation, with new more advanced military equipment being deployed, there is possibility of 3ww. That increases chances for nukes being used, as many countries will be involved in active fighting
  5. nice move to boost tourism from china, but vaccinations don't start working immediately. Rather after several days and weeks. Also they are usually 2 doses, with minimum 3 weeks between them. Just introduce mandatory covid insurance for those coming from China and sell that insurance at airports. Many countries have surplus of vaccinations with short expiry date and many were offering them free, including to Thailand (thailand have not replied at time to some of those offers). Many were wasted already in 2001. I think thailand is still manufacturing astra zeneca and production can be boosted, but again, most likely there is a large stock close to expiry
  6. the most can be done is to introduce compulsory travel insurance. Even just $10k, that would be ample for shortish uncomplicated hospitalisation. Thai even can sell it on arrival. To immediately activate this insurance they would need an ATK test at the airport or at any clinic. That move will automatically boost medical tourism, not only for private, but also for governmental hospitals. Win win situation, not restrictive to an average tourist or traveller
  7. there are 2 parks (by gate 1 and gate 8). Airport workers use them at brake times. Not many passengers know about them. The one on the north side (gate 8 ) can be seen from conveyor belt 22 (I think) level below. There is also an observation deck at level 6 (stairs or lift from level 4), overlooking runways. That place is also empty.
  8. he is described in this article as "a staunch royalist". He also always supports establishment parties. And not th first time he attacks paentongtarn. Some more details about his past antics, which includes suing former USA embassador, in the same article https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/royalist-mp-wants-miss-universe-thailand-punished-for-insulting-thai-flag/
  9. in the trial drive she should go to the BMW service and check service records. Surely that car was poorly maintained, if radiator bursts and all the other systems need 300k repairs. She also should know that having an exclusive car costs a lot, as parts are imported and few garages are able to fix that cars. Her "celebrity lawyer" cost her additional $$$, as should was able to place complain without any lawyer help. The garage can claim, that it was her who neglected necessary repairs, as she did some 25k within the last 5 months
  10. if they were not traced within hours by street cctv, police are not going to spend more time on them. Probably they see similar stories every night and won't have time to do some real work, like looking for criminals
  11. so he was traced by his rental motorbike registration number and warrant was issued. Still, how father of those kids was able to clearly see see motorbike driver behind his pick up and how he was able to record on his smartphone while riding. Pretty impossible and also dangerous to do. Hardly believable.
  12. yesterday he asked "to be careful", looks like today he clarified a little and escalated it to "be prudent and observant". He also declared he won't celebrate. So he is not sure of developments which are beyond his control and urges public to scale down NY parties. Pattaya major yesterday cancelled countdown, but today u-turned. Still, some activities before countdown are cancelled. Things are changing rapidly and radically, leaving punters confused. Khaosan did also cancel countdown event, that is not mentioned in an above article. There would be likely disappointment to many, who expected this year somehow better then those last 2 covid years
  13. surely this warning of being "careful" and his declaration he won't celebrate, would dampen all NY parties. So even if those celebrations are still going on, they would be scaled down in different ways, shortened. The last night the mayor of Pattaya reinstated NY countdown, but not some activities on the previous nights, which were planned. Punters would be afraid of such u-turns at any time, even with a very short notice. Indeed, it can happen, that Prayuth or some minister will state more openly not to participate in public celebrations. Even online rumours on social media can have effect. Situation is very delicate for all organisers, even more so for the government employees. That's why people will try to organise their private parties, so they can carry on music and dance through night. Many crave for it after the last 2 NY celebrations cancelled by covid
  14. he gave an interview to AP, it's very confusing what he meant. Looks, like off the bat statements, nothing planned yet. Peace talks are usually behind close doors, that was the case with serious negotiation in April 2022, which were very close to signing. "Ukraine’s foreign minister said Monday that his nation wants a summit to end the war but he doesn’t anticipate Russia taking part, a statement making it hard to foresee the devastating invasion ending soon. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told The Associated Press that his government wants a “peace” summit within two months at the United Nations with Secretary-General António Guterres as mediator. The U.N. gave a very cautious response." https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-zelenskyy-business-eb86ba6fe45717c11edaa1390fe70307
  15. by large they are domestic flights and majority is not tourism, but visiting family for new years holiday. with high petrol prices it's cheaper for individuals to get airfare than drive.
  16. so they are investigating themselves. Likely they won't be impartial. What about ministry of defence and later even the parliament defence commission to check how those teams were working. The navy botched rescue operation, just finding 4 alive, many dead bodies and many still missing.
  17. he meant to watch palace statements on princess health. That pattayanews make clear: "His position is presumably out of respect for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha who remains unconscious at a hospital." "Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Monday the government doesn't have a specific position on whether to hold or cancel New Year party and both government agencies and private companies can decide by themselves. The remark came after the Education Ministry, the Office of the Court of Justice and a few agencies cancelled the party out of respect for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha who remain unconscious at hospital." https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/posts/pfbid02ikb27EKJMwfAxg215UTA9oy796uNhbYQZFdUHCU3zg2cho7664fbWXTiaDnh7Mbsl
  18. today's. Looks like several other governmental agencies, on top of the education and justice ministries, have also cancelled their celebrations, but in some other way than ministerial orders. "Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Monday the government doesn't have a specific position on whether to hold or cancel New Year party and both government agencies and private companies can decide by themselves.
  19. Khaosan ha s cancelled countdown, but the rest activities are going on. All pubs, clubs, restaurants are opened and each one will have countdown, music and all night parties. If central would cancel, they will lose their 500mln investment and not any music concerts, after midnight party will take place there. They would have to dismantle music stage and cordon off an area, to prevent party goers from polluting their grounds. Tourists are cancelling rooms and activities now because they are scared they will lose their payments, if they delay and try to cancel at the last moment. There is also a possibility, that their bookings might be cancelled by hotels, restaurants etc without refunds or only partia refund. So they prefer make already now some alternatives, rather in their locations and communities. There are secret orders from the ministry of education and earlier from the ministry of justice, to cancel new year celebrations. Some schools, including the governmental ones, had already cancelled xmass parties, that yet before ministry order and even they are not connected with new year celebrations. "The Education Ministry issued a "most urgent" directive on Thursday for all its offices nationwide to cancel New Year parties out of respect for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha who remain unconscious at Chulalongkorn Hospital" https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/posts/pfbid026XiBMZvPxVmdKDLRW5jzc8ugwJv4AV9R2h5vo69nyXJLV6GZsATmytYcJ1ZQdpk7l "Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said Tuesday there is "yet" a request by the government for the private sector and the general public to refrain from having festive holiday parties. The remark came after the Office of the Court of Justice decided to cancel new year parties and asked its officials to make merit for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha who remain unconscious and hospitalised." https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/posts/pfbid029vccp39eT7nQevPDfdGvyf7ojSwrSrU2jAMz5ALAPxhHFVf3r2ahk9UGNdBAe2YRl
  20. there is a short video from the ship from Sunday evening, just before sunset. There were no clouds, good visibility and calm water. I gather she lost engines during storm in the afternoon, started to drift and slowly taking water. Once she lost engines they should call SOS. One earlier report said that not rafts were deployed. There was one found later on, apparently empty. I don't follow news closely, but looks like reports are contradictory.
  21. prawit is the sole candidate from palang pracharat. For some 1.5 years he is preparing alliance with pheu thai. Prayuth has just left the PP with some very few supporters. He should do so much earlier, after being stabbed at censure debate in september 2021 by prawit's protege - thammanat flour minister. Anutin with bhumjaithai is likely to join prawit/pheu thai. He just got himself some 40 defectors from the democrat party (that including former MP's), but still small chance how many of them they will be able to get to parliament. Elections very likely will be delayed by months, so maybe now middle of the year or later, with a wave of mass media and state propaganda nationalistic frenzy shaping opinions towards establishment parties - but how successful can it be with younger generation voters? Pheu thai has cancelled planned rallies to the end of this year, postponed them indefinitely, without giving new dates. Some other parties will follow that trend. Move forward might do well in bangkok and around, in large cities, but they will be crippled by article 116 sedition and all the rest thrown at them at random. Likely just after an election, aimed at those doing the best at ballot box. Similar fashion to the last time
  22. there were several sailors rescued (one group was 3 sailors who shared 2 vests, that included a nurse with first aid kit - the 4th drowned just minutes before and second group was 1 survivor and 6 bodies). They also found an empty raft. so very few are saved, it's a week now, only bodies being washed away on nearby beaches
  23. in bangkok makro is cheaper than markets. At the back of fresh section you can get expiring veg and fruit for half price - carrot 11b, mushrooms 35b, peppers 50b, red potato 30b, chinese cabbage 15b, onion red and white 17b per kg. I usually buy many kg each, sometimes all they have in a container. You need time to check and eliminate spoiled ones. Same bakery, dairy, fish (just got 5kg salmon belly 100b/kg). Some of it goes for my dogs. Possible to dry or freeze some of them. Also you can cook and freeze, to prevent them spoiling. Also at makro there are 3-5kg traders packaging, selection around 10 different vegetables. Some 10% cheaper from the regular price. I do get them if there are not any discounted ones. Supermarkets also have fridges, freezers, shelves, trollys with discounted food and goods. You have to know where to find them. They have yellow stickers and signage Sometimes damaged packaging, end of stock. Sometimes much less than 50%. but wife also buys at large weekend farmer market
  24. I gave you a link to a belgian fundation which offers free advice, that including on palliative care. Emailing them them some medical documents cost nothing. Ketokonazole is 3b, some other repurposed anticancer OTC medicines are from below 1b, at each pharmacy. Yes, there are anticancer medicines for $$$ per pill or shot, but there are alternatives
  25. so just a year ago he attacks people with a sward, and now was walking free?
