The affordable health care act has been a success with 45 million people now insured. Would you rather that they not have access to affordable health care? -
You are the only one praising Trump's stupidity.

BREAKING: Trump indicted again in election interference case
Patong2021 replied to FriscoKid's topic in Political Soapbox
How is it lawfare? A federal grand jury reindicted Donald Trump on four felony charges related to his effort to subvert the 2020 presidential election. A jury of Mr. Trump's peers was presented with evidence and they determined that all the evidence presented to them met the standard of probable cause, meaning that there was sufficient evidence to support the charges. Either the evidence was adequate or it was not. In this case it was. So, now explain how this was lawfare, since a jury of Trump's peers decided. -
Didn't Trump go visit a little fat despot in North Korea and proclaim him a good guy?

Why is it a mistake? How is it misogyny? The interview format is no different than what Trump and Vance did after Trump selected Vance as his running mate. Are you aware that the two of them did a joint interview on Fox? What is different between what Harris and Walz are doing compared to previous interviews? Barack Obama and Joe Biden sat for an interview with 60 minutes after Biden was selected as the vice-presidential nominee in 2008. Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine did the same in 2016 Joe Biden and Harris did a joint interview on ABC’s 20/20. Your political bias is showing, again.

I watched. She seems to have done quite nicely here. It was a skewering.

The promotion of brown rice as a "healthier" alternative is not supported by the actual dietary facts. Yes, brown rice can contain slightly higher levels of some minerals and vitamins compared to white rice. Unfortunately, the consumption of the whole rice negates that benefit. Brown rice has higher levels of phytates and lectins, which bind to vitamins and minerals, interfering with their absorption. Rice hulls concentrate the herbicides and pesticides used in the growing of rice and also, hold the heavy metals like arsenic. Brown rice contains the rice husk and rice germ. These are difficult to digest and are rough fiber, the fiber that snags, tears and irritates the gut. The end result is that brown rice can cause more digestive distress than white rice which is easily digestible. The nutritional reality of all rice is that it is a quick source of glucose, with white rice being a faster source than brown. ideally, rice should be consumed infrequently, unless one has heavy caloric requirements, i.e. field manual labourer, athlete. Healthy noodle options are available. They are not fried.

Yes, one should not be over confident. However, you interpret according to your personal bias. The fact is that VP Harris has been trained at staying on point and in delivering the facts in a manner that a group of typical voters can understand. Juries are picked from voter registration lists. As a senator, VP Harris had experience in talking to a wide cross section of Americans and with political adversaries. Former president Trump is a salesman, and arguably was a very good one at that and a master of self promotion. Unfortunately for him, his style is very 1980's/ 1990's and has not kept pace with cultural changes in the USA. All Harris has to do is to rattle off her points in a digestible manner and to build her case. Trump will do himself in with his bluster. If set up right, Trump will be like Captain Queeg addressing the court martial hearing in the Caine Mutiny.

Kuwaiti Tourist Apologises for Obscene Act on Pattaya Balcony

Haha @ morpios. Someone is french. Morpions are body lice, typically found in the genital region, aka "crabs". A very embarrassing infestation. -
As part of those measures that capped drug costs, a provision of Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act requires drugmakers to pay rebates to Medicare if they hike the price of a medication faster than the rate of inflation. It is separate from another provision under the law that allows Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices with manufacturers. This means that many patients will pay a lower coinsurance rate for the 64 drugs covered under the capped drug costs already announced. This measure applies under Medicare Part B, for the period from July 1 to Sept. 30 “. Therefore , there are indeed cost reductions. Your incessant misrepresentation of the facts serves no other purpose other than to alienate people who might otherwise be willing to consider some of the Trump campaign program platform. All you do is demonstrate that the Trump supporters are lacking in honesty and integrity. Worse yet, is the fact that the Medicare cost capping was delayed because of republican resistance to limiting price gouging by pharmaceutical firms.

The Biden administration has delivered cost reductions to 19 million Americans. Effective 2025, m,edicare beneficiaries will have lower prescription drug prices with insulin capped at $35, free vaccines, and out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs capped at $2,000. What part of this do you not understand? It gets better. Medicare Part D cost-sharing for certain generic drugs will be capped at $2. It will include common drugs like statins to treat high cholesterol, beta-blockers for high blood pressure, and platelet inhibitors to prevent blood clots. The President is also trying to get Congress to limit Medicare cost-sharing to $2 for high-value generic drugs for all Medicare plans, but the Republicans are blocking that change. Thanks to the President’s efforts, more Americans have health insurance than under any other President, and are better protected against surprise medical bills and junk fees.

Thailand’s new anti-smoking rule burns Thai vendors’ profits
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We know that does not work. Even high taxes are not effective. it just creates a profitable opportunity for criminals. What we do know is that education works. More young people today never start smoking or vaping than in previous years because they have been educated on the addiction. Fair tax also works. The government could easily add another 20-50 baht to the cost of tobacco. I think a pack is less than 150 baht. Ridiculously cheap compared to alcohol tax approach. -
Heavy Rains Cause Landslides in Phuket, 1 Dead
Patong2021 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Phuket News
Understood, however, the soil where this occurred has a history of instability. Many years ago I was mountain biking in Kata-Karon area and learnt the hard way just how unstable the soil is when the path where we were standing, not biking, just gave way. It's a red soil that doesn't hold water well. I was told that there is a high concentration of clay that makes it unstable and its acidic nature is not conducive to many tree species. If we go back in Thai Visa forum, I can remember the threads warning of the dangers of building homes in the hills of Patong for this same reason. -
Ok. Please identify which statements are factually incorrect. If the statements are accurate, then you are denying reality. Why are you doing that?
