  1. My takeaway from this request for a special master is surprise that the court order implicated the current president so directly. This is contrary to repeated claims that Biden was not involved in this latest witch hunt against the man the democrats are terrified of running against. I think this latest attack on Trump would have more chance to succeed if it weren't so obviously political, which the court order shows is the case. Maybe they should have redacted this to protect the democrat narrative? Oh well, better luck next time! "On May 10, 2022, NARA informed Plaintiff that it would proceed with “provid[ing] the FBI access to the records in question, as requested by the incumbent President, beginningas early as Thursday,May 12,2022” https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/master-order/bd04012fd4a34767/full.pdf
  2. Highly abusive and defamatory comment there against the most beautiful and classy first lady we ever had. Seeing such terrible false comments made against Melania makes me think this latest witch hunt against President Trump is falling apart at the seems causing such lashing out by the disappointed.
  3. The timing should not be a surprise. Doing this at the start of september is genius, it leaves plans to keep Europeans warm this winter in tatters and causes maximum disruption and fear. It leaves no time to build new coal or fossil fuel generators or reopen mothballed nuclear plants. If only Europeans had been warned of the dangers of relying almost solely on Russian energy imports to keep the lights and heaters on. All these government agencies around the world and literally NOBODY knew it was a dangerous situation? If anybody did warn about this danger, please accept my apology, and name the one person that raised the alarm(and was mercilessly mocked for doing so).
  4. What you say about Rittenhouse may be a popular narrative of the left. I well remember the threads where this narrative was set in stone. But it is factually incorrect. "In a post-verdict tweet, U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-New York, called the outcome "heartbreaking." "Justice cannot tolerate armed persons crossing state lines looking for trouble while people engage in First Amendment-protected protest," he wrote. Part of that statement -- the claim Rittenhouse was armed when he crossed state lines -- was repeated by many in the wake of the verdict. But that information is wrong " https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/nov/26/jerrold-nadler/nadler-wrong-claim-rittenhouse-crossed-state-line-/
  5. Well well well. A couple of months pass and a whistle-blower crawls out of the woodwork to seemingly confirm the minority voice here, that something is indeed very rotten at the head of Twitter. And I love it how CNN casually bury this little gem (that makes the mar a lago accusations look as serious as jaywalking. "alleges that some of the company's senior-most executives have been trying to cover up Twitter's serious vulnerabilities, and that one or more current employees may be working for a foreign intelligence service." but the main item of interest is the claim that Twitter is NOT having knowledge of how many bots are in play, and nor do they even want to know. hmmmmm Looks like Mr Musk will be winning this court case they said he couldn't win. "The whistleblower also says Twitter executives don't have the resources to fully understand the true number of bots on the platform, and were not motivated to. Bots have recently become central to Elon Musk's attempts to back out of a $44 billion deal to buy the company (although Twitter denies Musk's claims)." quotes from https://edition.cnn.com/2022/08/23/tech/twitter-whistleblower-peiter-zatko-security/index.html
  6. I see brick weed for sale on facebook marketplace. All sellers seem to have 3 different kinds, gold, red and blue if memory serves. Do these signify different qualities? I can remember one time getting some exceptionally fine brick weed. It was nice dark green and a bit sticky. It was a fantastic smoke and I went back the next day to buy another block for spare but they had sole out and back to the usual dry, seed-ridden stuff that smelled a bit moldy and was their usual product. I would love to buy whatever it was I got that time. Feel free to post suppliers you had good experiences with for brick.
  7. SOMEONE already tried that. It was unpopular with opponents of the GOP(surprise, surprise), and was used as a tool to batter him with, so bit late to suddenly want or expect the current guy to do anything. To be fair it was easier for Trump as he did not have any complicating matters there. "Democratic presidential hopefuls hammered President Donald Trump over his trade war with China in Thursday’s debate as fears grow about the conflict shaking the global economy. The 10 candidates on stage in Houston portrayed an impulsive president with little concrete plan to force Beijing to change what Trump calls unfair trade practices." https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/12/democrats-in-debate-criticize-trump-over-china-tariffs-and-trade-war.html Surely China and Japan have enough weaponry to wipe each other out a dozen times over? I notice the art of negotiation and making deals has really fallen apart around the world recently. It's all force and military might and invasions over the delicate art of the deal we so enjoyed recently and the relative world peace it led to.
  8. Yes, he allowed reporters and media people to question him freely and he always answered them, unscripted I might add. Even dreadful hacks like Jim Acosta always was allowed to ask his silly questions and show-boat in front of his fellow media types. That was democracy, that was an honest capable President respecting his adversaries, and showing he was mentally on top of his game. As for thruthfully, well a member here posted a link to some site that had collected Trumps greatest lies. One of the first ones was something about he remembered the weather wrong on some day, he said there was no rain, yet others remembered some rain on that day. Wow so awful. The 30,000 lie claim was a big lie. "President Donald Trump, according to one well-publicized tally, has told 10,000 whoppers during this presidency. His falsehoods include such incredible claims such as accurately stating the number of new jobs since the election. Or Trump saying he signed executive orders that he did, in fact, sign. Or claiming that Sen. Bernie Sanders, who wants corporate taxes to increase, worker wages to rise, and stock buybacks to end, wants 401(k) values to “dissipate.” https://www.marketwatch.com/story/washington-posts-10000-trump-untruths-is-about-25-fake-news-2019-04-29
  9. quote "It’s a battle between old school Republicans and the extreme rightwing. " Here we go again. The MAGA movement, contrary to what you may have been told, is NOT extreme right wing. The aims of literally making America great again are putting America first, creating a good economy that everyone will benefit from, do not start overseas wars and conflict, strong borders and the same immigration laws for all, low taxation, protecting free speech from threat, protecting unborn babies, protecting school children from predators, honest and open governance that is willing and able to answer questions, going strong against political censorship by big tech, etc etc. None of this is "extreme right wing" it is just good old fashioned common sense.
  10. Thailand will not have to get involved in the South China Sea scuffle, and nor should they. Thailand has been very intelligent by refusing the western narrative that you outline above - that the issue in Ukraine is 100% Putin's fault and that NATO are angels and their behaviour 100% perfect and certainly they didn't trigger Putin. An "undeniable" fact that is of course denied by many. I'm not usually praising the Thai government for their maturity in decision making, but here yes, well done.
  11. Yes, it would seem this is intending to push farmers to using middlemen rather than selling directly to customers and earning decent money. After banning online sales the farmers will be forced to accept low prices for their product and middlemen will be making the most, and I can hazard a good guess who these middlemen comprise of. Everything here happens for a reason.
  12. "Trump said the senior senator from Kentucky should spend more time and money helping Republican Senate candidates get elected and "less time helping his crazy wife and family get rich on China." Well Trump does have a point here. In fact, I believe after the mid-terms and the GOP taking back the house we will be spending lots of time discussing and going after politicians who are earning dodgy money from deals with the Chinese govt and related firms. This should be popular because we see accusations of corruption all the time here, even without evidence, so this is something we can all get behind.
  13. Yes, flew Thai to LHR a few weeks ago. Must have waited 2 hours for my bags to arrive on the carousel. In fact, I had given up on them and was filling in a lost bag claim, lad at the counter said been big problem with all baggage but Thai in particular. Finished filling the form and then saw my bags arrived 555 There were huge mountains of luggage piled up all around the hall, no idea what was going on there.
  14. It's a bit late for that Chomper. Events on the evening of August 8th has changed American politics for ever, and yes, in a very bad way.
  15. This sneering condescension is most unpleasant. People have different views on just about everything, hence the concept of a debate forum. To dub people with differing views to yourself "stupid" reflects on you more than them. Wray was a huge disappointment. I, for one, am interested in reviewing all his emails/mobile phone records/written documents after his house is raided in a few years time along with all the rest of them. What do his private messages reveal about his motivation for this dreadful raid?
  16. Well she has worked for one proper company in her life, unlike most politicians. Truss had a brief stint at Shell so she will understand that the world needs more than theoretical renewables for future electricity generation. I'm hoping she is more realistic than Sunak who did that ridiculous virtue signal when he introduced a windfall tax on North Sea energy producers, folly like that can lead to dramatic price spikes in the future than would make this years rises look irrelevant. Super bad move Rishi.
  17. An easy solution, if dishonest, would be to call this inflation the "Putin price hike" and adamantly refuse to accept a shred of responsibility. Then if inflation stalls month on month or even possibly slows down call it the Truss Discount.
  18. The American public views the unprecedented raid on an ex President's house rather differently than most posters here. When a MAJORITY of voters think there is a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI who are using the FBI … as Joe Biden‘s personal Gestapo, the country has a huge problem. This coming just when it seemed a government could not possibly get anymore incompetent and untrustworthy..... "Roger Stone, an adviser to former President Donald Trump, has said there is “a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI who are using the FBI … as Joe Biden‘s personal Gestapo.” A majority (53%) of voters now agree with Stone’s statement – up from 46% in December – including 34% who Strongly Agree. " https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/public_surveys/biden_s_gestapo_trump_raid_hurts_voter_trust_in_fbi
  19. Agree with this. It would seem she was no angel. But, it is possible she was accused and sentenced for an exaggerated version of events. Sadly, there are many young impressionable foreign pretties on the island that tend to make a beeline for powder boys. Bad judgement in men doesn't deserve a life sentence.
  20. Before rushing to judgement, there is lots more to this sorry tale. Believing the authorities here in regards to court cases/justice issues generally results in misunderstanding. More info here https://www.thesouthafrican.com/news/breaking-freeashley-ashley-oosthuizen-george-22-thailand-life-imprisonment-18-february-2022/
  21. More false assertions. Michael Cohen was NOT imprisoned for "exercising his First Amendment rights to author s book"
  22. My quote from Comey about how sane prosecutors would treat her hammering to destroy evidence was removed. It is very relevant because a)she was not President and b)she actively physically tried to destroy evidence. So difficult to no charge Trump for a lesser "crime" on every level.
  23. Its an unwritten rule that ex Presidents are left alone and allowed a quiet and dignified life after serving. If other ex-Presidents are left completely alone after making monstrous decisions based on false evidence that literally led to the deaths of millions of people in the middle east, then other ex Presidents will be left alone over paperwork issues that caused zero deaths and zero harm. It is all a question of comparative seriousness of the alleged crime. In my mind killing millions of people is worse than possessing some documents in safe storage that may have been reclassified after Trump left office. You "one law and nobody above it" is a troll. You know full well the democrats and republicans are held to different standards. Allegations against Republicans without evidence get major air time and discussion. Allegations against Democrats with mountains of evidence are censored across social media.
