Thanks for that info Georgealbert but seriously when are the meters and pipes checked? If they were serious they wouldn't use PVC pipes. They even use galvanised piping here too which is prone to electrosis.

Foreigner Attacked in Phuket After Alleged Assault on Transwoman

More to the point Bob, they're as soft as pensioners turds. -
Hi there, I just picked up my water account for April. While I was checking the amount I noticed a 50 baht extra which is for the water meter maintenance. I was a Plumber in all my working days and I've never heard of that happening before. Since when do we pay a maintenance fee on something we don't own? It's not the 50 baht that concerns me, it's if this fee is charged on every water meter in Pattaya, who pockets the money? May I add is this fee monthly or annual?

Intoxicated Pattaya local injured in street food brawl

Give the bitch a slap, there's times when Thai birds lose their status as women, especially when drunk or drugged up. -
Thanathorn Continues Senate Candidate Search despite EC Warnings

I'm not disagreeing with you but the party that can rouse up 51 % or better are the winners even by dubious means. I'm sure Teflon Tony would've been sending his instructions from overseas. I think that the MFP members are rather inexperienced in Thai politics they need to recruit some serious political head kickers like the other major parties have. In saying that I may I repeat, if the MFP received 100 % of the votes at the election, would they be Government now? Any person who lives in Thailand believes this are dreaming. -

Return of Rental Deposit.

How much is 2 months rent may ask? Live there as long as you can before he asks you for the next months rent. Make sure you tell nobody of your intentions and do a fly by night when it suits you. I had to put up with this $hit many years ago. So I bit the bullet and bought a condo, the rent I've saved is more than what I paid for the condo. I have a Thai wife so at least it's hers if I were to pass on before her. -
Thanathorn Continues Senate Candidate Search despite EC Warnings

Unfortunately the MFP gained the most votes but didn't win the election. They needed 51 % of the votes to form Government. That's when the dirty deals were done behind closed doors and PTP got the numbers and are now in charge. It begs one question, what if MFP got 51 % of the votes required would they now be the Government? I'm sure they wouldn't be as the EC etc would implement ways to prevent this. -
I walk around the Wongamat area for 2 hours every morning starting at 6.30 am and tour buses have taken over the area. Most are driven by guys with a Thai motorcycle mentality. Every road law is broken, exceeding 40 kmph, parking where there's a red and white painted curb. Park or over take where there's double lines. Also never reduce speed let alone stop when they come to a stop sign. I still wonder why people need a drivers license in Thailand considering how these cretins drive.

Thai mobile phone provider wants too much money
NONG CHOK replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I was a wake up to their games years ago. Since then I've used DTAC around 1,800 baht per year for unlimited WIFI and 100 baht of free phone calls every month. The prices some companies show online are only a bluff, when you put it to them the price comes down. Most short term farangs just pay and don't queery the price because it's still much cheaper than the countries they came from. If anyone decides to follow my advice buy your SIM card online from Lazada etc don't buy it from the provider. You will save 400 baht plus. -

Thai tourism sector proposes 300-baht tax to counter over-tourism
NONG CHOK replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Next thing there will be a nightly tax for farangs sleeping with their legally married Thai wives. If there's any extra hanky panky picked up by spy cams there will be an additional surcharge. -
What's the best day to go to the DLT office in Pattaya?
-
As I go for my long daily walk every morning in that area I see every thing that's going on. It appears that work has started on the extra large land behind Space Hotel. Yesterday when I walked past the open gates they were digging the foundations and trucks were removing the soil. Now tour buses have taken over that area and many are driven by people who have a Thai motor bike riders mentality.

One other point worth considering is that the old Best Supermarket and the Peace Resort may have been built on long term leased land.
-
Everywhere in Naklua is being knocked down to build top of the range hotels, especially on the Wongamart side of Naklua Road. I'd say Best Supermarket along with the Peace Hotel were forced to go. Maybe the offer was to good to knock back. Give them a month as it's been one hell of a job to move all their stock. I'm sure things will change once things are settled down. One up side is the new shop has a superb alcohol section.
-
There is a car park there but it's hard to say how many cars it will hold.
-
Its going to be replaced by another multi story hotel complex similar to the Space Hotel.
-
Hi there, I walked past the new Best Supermarket this morning, I noticed that it officially opens tomorrow Sat April 20. It's opposite the Susco servo between Sois 25 and 27, It's over the road from where I live. So that will be less stress on my old legs.

Fire Breaks Out at Former Nightclub in Sattahip
NONG CHOK replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Where I come from in Australia we call these situations Jews stock takes. There's a large coffee shop around the corner from me in Naklua Road where a fire ocurred and since the rebuild it's totally deserted. Prior to the fire it was a very busy shop. -
Songkran festival ends with 243 deaths in traffic accidents
NONG CHOK replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I live in a soi 50 metres from Naklua Road just near the new Best Super Market. I noticed this morning at 6am when I go for my normal 2 hours walk that the vendors were getting all set up. I had to walk on the road as all the footpaths were blocked even little kids sleeping on the footpaths and others sleeping in tents. Now it's 5.30 pm here and it's been out of control all day. When will they bring in designated water throwing zones like many places up North have? -
Thai man and foreigner clash over water splash dispute (video)
NONG CHOK replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
A few days ago I had to go shopping in Tukcom, on my return home I got on a baht bus and travelled the full distance of Second Road. As the traffic was very slow people on baht buses were subjected to a deluge of water from passing pick up trucks every time they had to stop. Surely they should ban water being thrown from the back of vehicles. As I've suggested many times unless these morons can tone it down heaps, the local Amphur should have designated water throwing areas. It would be much easier to patrol and the BIB's may well be surprised who they meet there.
