The demonstration of personal freedom is more important and as we can see in Britain with obsessions with health and safety and the rise to power of petty jobsworths there is so much to lose. The principle problems the people here in Thailand have is political not personal. Outsiders who criticize the behaviour of Thais whilst ignoring the real problems and real issues deservedly get labelled harshly and perhaps should turn their moral spotlight on their own country. Riding on pavements and poor parking is preferable to regular high school slaughter and mass murder.

I think I skipped it. The ending- I just assumed they decided not to when the introduced the old 'lady' alien as a witness. After a few episodes I skipped watching the series. I might return to it.

If people think 160 baht is too expensive for a bottle of cold beer served at your table with decent music videos playing and pretty girls for company, then they are just too poor to be drinking in that kind of place. In some cases, not neccessarily the TQ higher prices keep lower class people out and cut down on excessive drinking.

Thais do democracy when allowed. But the army, as recently, steps in to protect their interests. A few farang fall for royalist and army propaganda and the deeply patronising idea that 'Thais don't do democracy'. The idea is a foul lie and an insult to the memory of the democracy activists slaughtered, imprisoned, tortured and burnt to death. Any foreigners promoting this toxic idea that Thais don't do or deserve democracy are spreading poisonous lies and would do well to consider voicing the army propaganda when in the company of Thais of whatever status or class.
