  1. Bangkok Bank has never limited me to that sum. You sure? - this must be very new. It's not a limit on incoming funds unilaterally imposed by BBL generally, no banks do that, it is a limit on incoming transfers effected through Wise to BBL accounts.
  2. ""Up to 5 years" in this case means that they can not sentence a person to any prison time". No, that is not what it means! "Up to five years" means that they can give prison sentences of up to five years.
  3. You could just read the article and see what actually was the case.
  4. No it's not, they are referring to changing the limit in the app, not new regs re transfers over 50k Yes, it is. The second paragraph of his posted letter specifically references the face scanning aspect and that is the issue that applies to transfers over 50k (for some banks).
  5. ????Have done so but I thought maybe someone else had observed the same thing! Everyone can observe the same thing, the exchange rates are published by the banks!... https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Other-Services/View-Rates/Foreign-Exchange-Rates It is not "misleading", it is the bank's correct current exchange rate.
  6. It's possibly something to do with the Scandinavian banks' recent attitude to buying back their currency, if you compare those rates with the differentials for other non-Scandinavian currencies on BBL's exchange rates page it tells a story that would account for the 50% change that you saw. What did the bank tell you when you asked them...the only ones who could actually answer your question?
  7. Tracked tax return sent 13th May from Pattaya main post office. Received UK at address 25th May. 12 days. You're not "kidneyw", I was asking him about his claimed "18 days" and the circumstances.
  8. Fairly obvious that she meant that it is "not good for you" because it attracts the unwanted attention of IOs, as you (and many others have) found out. She was trying to give you reasonable advice.
  9. KTB, Krungsri, UOBT and Kasikorn have all allowed me to increase my transfer limits to way over B50,000 on their apps just now. Bangkok Bank will not allow it, instead I'm notified to visit a branch to do it when I try. Perhaps BBL is the only one insisting on facial registration for foreigners?
  10. As are Ukrainians. Have there been frequent reports of Ukrainians being killed in motorcycle accidents or are you just trying to derail the topic? Where were they reported?
  11. An exception, then, if that actually happened. From where did you post it and to where and was it sent, was it during a period of the postal workers' industrial action?
  12. Getting it in under the radar depends on how it's being brought in...mail. courier company, on your person, etc. Import duty rate is 5%, VAT is 7% on the CIF value. https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/
  13. They're not posting it on the app any longer and haven't been for at least a couple of weeks. It's back again now!
  14. Courier will obviously be the fastest and most expensive. If price is factored into it, Thailand Post registered (five or six days delivery, usually) could be better depending on what you're looking for.
  15. "...and hopefully it will not be affected by this policy". This issue is about UK banks. Offshore banks are not UK banks so UK regulations will not affect them.
  16. Maybe you should read the news a little bit better. Then you can also work something out. Maybe you should understand the nuances of the English language a little bit before posting your admonishment.
  17. That's nothing to do with the positioning of the lights, it was 100% the fault of whoever illegally erected the signs.
  18. Six meters isn't "in the sky" and if you cannot see because of a high vehicle, you're too close to it.
