  1. Since the relevant Immigration Law was instigated and remains in effect. Are you suggesting that all overstays should ignored by the authorities?
  2. Obviously, that's the point of the law, just as it is in every country, particularly for repeat offenders.
  3. As was clearly reported, Thais were also "picked on".
  4. As has already been posted, Thais were included in the checks but this is a foreigner-oriented forum hence the foreigner-centric articles.
  5. Go on then. Don't forget to include every foreigner also.
  6. "i understand it’s due to a tiny pee pee" Sadly interesting that you have experience in that area.
  7. In the context of the article, the same Thai laws apply to Thais and foreigners equally, no "UN rules" are being broken.
  8. No, legally they can't if you're doing nothing more than legally having a drink at a legally-operating bar.
  9. "The police do nothing"? Huh? Did you read any of the OP?
  10. "Karon Police set up a checkpoint outside the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket to monitor both Thai and foreign motorists violating traffic laws". The articles here are aimed at a foreign audience hence the report of the foreign offenders which doesn't mean that Thais weren't also targeted.
  11. Consideration for businesses that may be on the "wrong" side of the road...as the article stated.
  12. No need for the prefix if you are going to pay full price. Just +44 in that case. In any case it's a hefty 18 baht per minute plus VAT, as compared to between 5 & 7 baht plus VAT via 003 I know that, but if "+" gets the call through while "003" doesn't, that's all that matters in the context of the OP's thread.
  13. Seems to be a good idea, as opposed to being, subjectively (and irrationally) "terrible".
  14. I didn't make any "disparaging assumptions" but, if I did want to, I would have that right.
  15. Being unemployed does not necessarily mean his being penniless!
  16. Post-mortems are not performed to determine what "happened", they are to determine just the cause of death and, in the case that you allege happened you don't think that the cause of death could have been heart failure (which stops breathing)? Did you read the post-mortem report in the case that you say you know of in Thai or was it a translation from Thai to English?
  17. Quite shameful to milk generous donors like that. No one is being milked, the generous donors know what they are doing and what is happening to their donations. Quite shameful to allege that the family are milking anyone.
  18. Why? How? They must have had access to his phone. Or he'd given them her number/WhatsApp.
  19. Probably not, but, then, why should they be returned? People donate unconditionally.
  20. This achieves what? A second opinion.
  21. No, that could not be true.
