New seat belt rules to apply from September
Liverpool Lou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So what is that area designated for please? (I know you don't make the rules up 555) Cargo, I suppose. If it was meant for rear passengers they'd have to be supplied with belts as standard, as cars are. -
New seat belt rules to apply from September
Liverpool Lou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wait for one of the many more thousands of taxis that does have useable rear belts! Unless you're getting into a older, manky taxi (and that is your choice) the chance of there not being functional seat belts is remote. Why would the taxi cooperatives that are responsible for most of Bangkok's taxis try to rent out cars that are going to attract police attention and fines? "Unuseable belts in taxis" is a bit like the "buses belching black smoke" myth (most have been NGV-fuelled for years) that some Thaivisa posters love to trot it out but it's rarely the case in reality. -

That's because you're not supposed to have passengers there! -

Those vehicles are not supposed to carry passengers in the back section, that's why there's no belts. -

Probably, the unelected PM will have his soldiers and guns at the ready. I'm pretty sure that here was an election in Thailand in March 2019.

Do Filipinas make better wives than Thais?
Liverpool Lou replied to Brian Nose's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
"Do Filipinas make better wives than Thais?" It depends which "profession" you're selecting them from. -
How can you be sure? Do you know any of them? Seems very modern of you to be offended on other people's behalf. I'm not offended and I'm not expressing offence on behalf of anyone else. "I'm sure the families of the victims are not concerned with your attempt at being pedantic". "How can you be sure? Do you know any of them?" I did not write that, I was quoting Freed1948's comment. But, to answer your question anyway, no, I do not know any of them but I'm pretty sure that the small number of regular readers of this English-language forum do not include the young, Thai clientele of Sattahip's Mountain B pub. If you know of anything that rationally contradicts my assumption, I'm sure you'll correct me with whatever you've got.

"So Stevens new GF, I hope, was promised the car...". Steven55 is the OP, not the owner of the car, neither is the woman his girlfriend. A Line message to that girl does not give her ownership of the car. "...the nurse took it as soon as she heard of her patients demise? Seems like a police report of a stolen car needs to happen". How can anyone who is not the owner of a car make a police report about that car being stolen? Perhaps the owner sent a similar "ownership" Line message to the nurse? "What about bank cards?" What about them? This is about his car. "How old was this guy? Was his illness terminal so he knew he wasn't making it back to Thailand". What's the relevance of any of that to the car? "Need to know what model car this is and it's approximate value to know if this would make a proper movie or not". Why are you posting about a movie and how does the make/model/value of the car affect its ownership?

Jesus, mate you're quick on your nit-picking. I'm sure the families of the victims are not concerned with your attempt at being pedantic. It's odd that comments that you don't agree with, regardless of their being accurate is "nit-picking" in your mind. I'm making reasoned comments on irrational posts, the one you picked on here was not pedanticism (maybe you should look it up) as there's a huge difference between a month and "a long time ago" and a poster criticising the police for something they could never have done is just ridiculous. "I'm sure the families of the victims are not concerned with your attempt at being pedantic". I'm sure the families aren't concerned with anyone else's comments here, either, including yours, because they won't be reading them but, regardless, I really don't care about their imaginary concern about what I post, it's a forum and the only reason for its existence is to publish comments.
