There's no provision or facilities for preferential segregation in Thai prisons, regardless of affluence. There are punishment solitary cells but no prisoner would ever request to be confined in the conditions of one of those, even if they had that choice.

The only sentence in the US that acyually means prison until death is "life without parole". Prisoners serving "life sentences" can apply for parole after a few years, 7 years in California.
