  1. Er...she is Thai and this is Thailand, that's why. Is there something wrong with "blaming New Yorkers" if they beat up, molest and rob others even though, in this case, no one did blame a New Yorker for the assault? It is, of course, well known that every "New Yorker" is the salt of the earth and the very safe city has the lowest crime rate in the world that is decreasing even more, every day!
  2. I was able to open and read the link...no charge!
  3. What is the procedure for closing an account with BBL? Did you have to go to your own branch in Bangkok to do that?
  4. "Everything has to be done at your branch". That is incorrect, most things can be done at any branch. Do you have examples of the "everything" that you have had to have done at your own branch exclusively? "Getting a new passbook involves at massive document dump, dozens of signatures..." Completely false. Getting a new passbook to replace a full one requires nothing except the old book and, maybe your ID.
  5. "Bangkok Bank in Thailand" Thankfully just the opinion of one anonymous Thaivisa poster who, as per usual for most TV moaners, provides no evidence for his thread title's assertion. Most normal changes are easily made at any branch, through the app or through iBanking. What was it that proved so difficult for you to do that you provided no evidence for? I've banked with BBL for 20-odd years, never had any issue with it. My account is held at their Head Office and any change I've needed to be made could be done at a branch in a local mall.
  6. Assuming that you're not being sarcastic, what evidence is there that this pickup was a "heavily modified saloon"?
  7. The more times people post that incredibly original thought the funnier it gets.
  8. How many insurers have robbed you and how many times, under what circumstances? If you can back it up, you'll have credibility, if you can't, well.... By the way, "small print" does not exist these days, policy conditions do, though, and they have to be read!
  9. Can't imagine who you're referring to but being outnumbered on Thaivisa is usually not a bad thing, some would say that it's a compliment. An outnumbered balance of opinion doesn't mean that mass opinion is right.
  10. Both, unless you can prove me wrong with a current travel/health insurance policy, in which case I'll get the humble pie ready and apologise.
  11. Why does she have to be young? That is very creepy sounding. How young would you like her to be?
  12. You are biased because you use to work in insurance, my wife also works in insurance. And nothing that I comment re that is inaccurate. Your claims are false, insurers do not try to deny valid claims, regulations covering insurers does not allow them to.
  13. You are absolutely right, except when you keep referring to "fine print". On insurance policies that is just a figure of speech, policy conditions are printed in such a way as to be perfectly legible.
  14. "Why is fine print in anything in the first place?" There isn't. The thing is that "the fine print" is a figure of speech and, these days, insurance policy conditions are not printed that way because it is not permitted. Maybe, though, you can show an example that is obviously much smaller and more difficult to read than the rest of the print on a current travel/health insurance policy.
  15. None of those are in insurance policy conditions these days, particularly the first one. Can you show an example of current travel/health insurance policy conditions printed using "tiny" font that's obviously much smaller than any other font size, and "incomprehensible jargon? Of course, you can't.
  16. It's his repatriation that has to be paid for also and if no one will pay his medical bills there's every reason to believe that they would not release the body, that's what mortuaries are used for, keeping corpses. That would be the hospital's way of giving you a reciprocal "get F.....".
  17. C) It has been confirmed that he was in hospital being treated for a heart attack so it's not unreasonable to presume that he died as a result of a heart attack.
