  1. If the incoming DOJ intended to criminally charge those in the above Biden pardon for their 'political activities', those activities would likely have occurred in Washington DC. They would then have to seat a federal grand jury in a jurisdiction that voted 90.28% Ms. Harris and 6.47% for Mr. Trump in the 2024 election
  2. ... or more currently Kash Patel, during a December 2023 appearance on War Room: "We will go out and find the conspirators not just in government but in the media. We're going to come after you whether it's criminally or civilly. We'll figure that out." https://www.newsweek.com/kash-patel-enemies-list-pam-bondi-confronted-fbi-pick-2015930
  3. Thank you for the pre-exposure heads up.
  4. That isn't true: Someone can be indicted by a federal grand jury and brought to trial and then found not guilty but be subjected to considerable legal expense and time commitments even when eventually found to be not guilty.
  5. From Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado (1885) My object all sublime I shall achieve in time — To let the punishment fit the crime — The punishment fit the crime. What's going on here is more like: We want punishment; let's find a crime that fits.
  6. She has opinions that the committee misrepresented applicable sections of the DC Bar rules professional conduct in their conclusions.
  7. And she would likely say hat she did so in compliance with DC Bar Rules of Professional Conduct.
  8. Headline from Washington Post DEC 11, 2020: Trump has the power to issue preemptive pardons. Here’s how past presidents used it.
  9. See Ford pardons Nixon 1974 granting a full and unconditional pardon to Richard Nixon, his predecessor, for any crimes that he might have committed against the United States as president.
  10. Defer, defer To the Lord High Executioner! Defer, defer To the noble Lord To the noble Lord High Executioner! Bow down, bow down To the Lord High Executioner! Defer, defer To the noble, noble Lord To the High Executioner! -- The Mikado, Gilbert and Sullivan, 1885
  11. 3 times it happened to me -- once at FamilyMart and twice Tesco-Lotus Express: After leaving the store I realized that I had been given change as if I paid with a 1000 baht note and I had actually given the cashier a 500 baht note. And it actually took some convincing each time for them to believe me when I went back to the store and explained in Thai what happened. At the FamilyMart they had to review the store video recording the next day.
  12. Take this, every day when I get home from work I feel so frustrated the boss is a jerk And I get my sticks and go out to the shed And I pound on that drum like it was the boss head because I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day
  13. Willie Nelson as 'Wendell' in The Electric Horseman: I don't know about you. I'm gonna get me a bottle of tequila and find me one of them Keno girls that can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch and just kinda kick back.
  14. Heard it before (1960): Tiger Lily : Peter Pan is the sun and the moon and the stars! [all cheer] Tiger Lily : Peter Pan is the love of delight! [all cheer] Tiger Lily : Peter Pan is the bravest and strongest of all boys! [all cheer] Peter Pan : Yes, I know. 15. From Maureen Dowd NY Times: An X account belonging to a beloved D.C. dive bar, Dan’s Cafe, dryly posted about the shift to the rotunda: “Good thing his supporters already know how to get inside.”
  16. 20 years from now I'd rather be singing: Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head -- from Sgt. Pepper's
  17. My long-time LA friend's late father graduated from Los Angeles High School and started in the movie business production-side in the1930's. She was evacuated but returned to her house all-clear.
  18. I have never questioned any of Mr. Carr's actions or decisions. I only questioned the use of the term "protective gear" on here which those exact words, as far as my searches went, never appeared in any stories on the matter.
  19. Bloomington, IN -p- January15,2025 State Farm® is here to help California customers impacted by wildfires Non-renewal update: State Farm’s decision to pause non-renewals for homeowners, rental dwelling, and residential community association policies in force as of January 7, 2025, extends to all of Los Angeles County. This decision reflects our commitment to supporting our customers and goes beyond the Department of Insurance's request. Our focus is on continuing to meet our customers’ needs and working closely with the State of California to create a sustainable insurance market. This is an evolving situation, and our focus remains on our customers. LA County customers will have an option to renew with State Farm for another policy term. Policyholders in the fire zones with total losses would have the option to renew with State Farm for two policy term renewals, as required by law. 20. At 1:02 in the "Meet the Man" video above: I got a mask, goggles, and a construction helmet from work. If you want to consider that as 'protective gear' in a fire evacuation zone, up-2-U. As you wrote earlier this topic: Not wearing the appropriate protective gear is suicidal. It's almost like going to a gunfight without a gun.
  21. I looked all over for a reference to Mr. Carr's 'protective gear' thinking that would be a reference to something like a HazMat outfit.
  22. ‘Hot embers were raining down’: US swimmer Gary Hall Jr. says he lost 10 Olympic medals in Palisades wildfire “By the time I was going back in from that run, hot embers were raining down from the sky. I knew at that point that I just didn’t have much time. I could see the embers hitting the roofs of the houses around me and made that decision: it’s time to go. “The medals were in a closet in my bedroom, 70 feet away, and I didn’t have time to go get them. From the time that I saw the first plume of smoke at the top of the hill … I had about three minutes between then and when it came charging towards me. “It wasn’t easy to leave that behind. I worked a lifetime to achieve that and the memories remain but the souvenir is gone.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/us-swimmer-gary-hall-jr-says-he-lost-everything-in-palisades-wildfire-including-10-olympic-medals/ar-BB1raIhw?cvid=990837D9DF9A44C988921CCA4C3786C3&ocid=ems.msn.dl.valleyoffirenightnevada
  23. While sections of LA County have been completely destroyed by fire, there are major sections relatively if not totally unscathed.
  24. There is the old Jack Benny routine: Robber: Your money or your life. Benny: (nothing) Robber: YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE! Benny: I'm thinking it over. Some made the calculation: Your house or your life.
  25. OK. For his 'protective gear', he did say mask, goggles, and a construction helmet in the video. Mea Culpa.
