  1. I was just looking at RL and the Lobster Lab for my next trrip to Bangkok from the Isaan hinterlands. 2 tidbits: My late father was a golfing buddy of one of the original RL founders at the original RL from Lakeland FL. One of the best places I had to eat lobster was Denver, CO. If there was a bumper lobster crop, the wholesalers would often send the excess away from the US east coast as to not depress the prices there. Then 'cheap as chips' in Denver.
  2. Well after some said an 'accident' claim really doesn't count, I said I would get back after I had a stroke or some kinda 'real' claim. So I did.
  3. I reported on this forum that I had received hip replacement surgery following a fall JAN 2022 and that the surgery was paid for in full by WrLife. There then followed several posts by other AN Members to wit: Oh Yeah? But that was a hip fracture following an accident -- well whatabout how WrLife would cover you when there was an illness or possible pre-existing condition denial, HUH? OK. I regularly see a urologist for PSA check and DRE. In DEC 2022 the urologist gave me a written certificate report including: Inguinal Hernia. I contacted WrLife and claim processor AIS. They requested the current report from the urologist and previous reports from the same urologist that showed no indication of hernia including a recent KUB ultrasound (Kidney-Urethra-Bladder). They also requested the insurance certificate of coverage from my previous insurer CIGNA Global. Open inguinal surgery performed JAN 2023. Paid for in full by WrLife. BTW this from https://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/package/laparoscopic-groin-hernia-surgery-package-and-mesh-graft
  4. Well as noted in WrLife Facebook entry I quoted: ... a medical pre existing condition confirmed by the hospital and a second opinion team.
  5. There are also natural remedies that may work to combat enlarged prostate symptoms, however, evidence is debatable on whether these treatments actually work. The American Urological Association currently doesn’t recommend any herbal therapy for managing BPH. The use of stinging nettle was found to be effective in decreasing the severity of urinary frequency, nocturia (the frequent need to urinate at night), and urgency, when used in combination with conventional medical treatment https://www.healthline.com/health/enlarged-prostate/natural-remedies#fa-qs
  6. I posted this to a query in the ChiangMai forum so maybe others did not see it. This is from the WrLife Facebook page from 5 weeks ago: (Policy holder) How did you assume it was pre-existing that's the question 5 w Insurance Wrlife It seems that you did not have insurance before because you ignore my question : what was your previous medical insurance? If you have please send a copy to <ag-service.org> Then you make a cover. Then quite immediately you claim for a medical pre existing condition confirmed by the hospital and a second opinion team. ************* So it seems this person had no previous insurance, took out a WrLife policy, then quickly tried to arrange surgery that the hospital said was for a pre-existing condition.
  7. And to the OP maybe look at this: https://aseannow.com/topic/1268153-wrlife-medical-insurance-experiences/?do=findComment&comment=17529530 and also maybe this: https://aseannow.com/topic/1268153-wrlife-medical-insurance-experiences/?do=findComment&comment=17766306
  8. the text I quoted is from 5 weeks ago ... and on previous threads, you have been down on them.
  9. It also happens because the doctors at the hospital who provide the pre-inpatient assessment to the insurer inform the insurer that this is not a new occurrence.
  10. well keep trying -- it was about a claim denial based upon a pre-existing condition apparently not divulged But here seems to be the final response from WrL: It seems that you did not have insurance before because you ignore my question : what was your previous medical insurance? If you have please send a copy to <ag-service.org> Then you make a cover. Then quite immediately you claim for a medical pre existing condition confirmed by the hospital and a second opinion team.
  11. Interesting discussion 5 week old on https://www.facebook.com/InsuranceWrlife/ no Facebook login required
  12. I am not mistaken -- it all depends where the amount paid to the agent in excess of 1900 baht and 'reasonable' agent expenses goes.
  13. That is all well and good to write on here but, without suggesting such would ever be the case, such an explanation would be laughed out of Court.
  14. Even if the whole set-up is illegal, I would not expect anything to happen unless there is some situation like one of the immigration officers, who is being charged with offenses non-related to the agent immigration set-up, decides, for a plea deal, to implicate other officials in accepting 10-15000 baht for a service that costs 1900 baht even if under Section 35 of the Immigration Act (1979) they have the authority to waive requirements under the prevailing Police Order.
  15. If it isn't illegal, then why do you need plausible deniability?
  16. Maybe so -- but the application whether in Thailand or ex-Thailand is a binding legal document where the applicant certifies that the medical data provided is accurate and complete.
  17. Agenda? My favorite insurance post was the guy who had a claim denied because, when the insurer reviewed his medical records and found something that was not included in the application, he said OH I forgot about that.
  18. So does that mean you did not consider buying health insurance when you first arrived here after the spur of the moment? Maybe it's just an American thing, but one of the reasons I did relocate to Thailand almost 20 years ago is that good individual health policies were available to me here that were not available in the USofA.
  19. Then your planning wasn't very good.
  20. So if that's a given, you can either have planned for it or you can't afford it.
  21. no but 50's can work out better.
  22. Yes -- but you said "get" not "maintain". If you cannot afford it, it is a problem. But it is also a function of when you first took out the insurance as, when younger, there are generally fewer if any pre-existing conditions attached to the policy.
  23. No -- it describes the set-up wherein the agent receives 15,000 baht but the complicit immigration officer can say 'I only received 1900 baht as in this here receipt to the expat.' BTW: Thai Criminal Code 1956 (ประเทศไทยทางอาญา พ.ศ. รหัส 2499) Section 144. Granting of Benefit by Official Whoever, giving, offering or agreeing to give the property or any other benefit to the official, member of State Legislative Assembly, member of Provincial Assembly or member of Municipal Assembly so as to induce such person to do or not to do any act, or to delay the doing of any act contrary to one's own duty, shall be imprisoned not out of five years or fined not out of ten thousand Baht, or both.
  24. Thank you. I like my 20 year agentless existence in Thailand just fine.
