  1. From James Carville but I've sorta been doing this since the election: With no clear leader to voice our opposition and no control in any branch of government, it’s time for Democrats to embark on the most daring political maneuver in the history of our party: ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD. Allow the Republicans to crumble beneath their own weight and make the American people miss us. Only until the Trump administration has spiraled into the low 40s or high 30s in public approval polling percentages should we make like a pack of hyenas and go for the jugular. Until then, I’m calling for a strategic political retreat. https://archive.ph/3LRpF#selection-943.0-943.547
  2. I know this is a serious topic but, for one who only knows BYD is an electric car that competes with Tesla, I kept wondering why there is an ongoing topic about the seals/gaskets going bad on the BYD cars. Mea culpa.
  3. Exclusive: Trump's 3,500 lawsuits unprecedented for a presidential nominee June1, 2016 Donald Trump is a fighter, famous for legal skirmishes over everything from his golf courses to his tax bills to Trump University. But until now, it hasn’t been clear precisely how litigious he is and what that might portend for a Trump presidency. An exclusive USA TODAY analysis of legal filings across the United States finds that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee and his businesses have been involved in at least 3,500 legal actions in federal and state courts during the past three decades. They range from skirmishes with casino patrons to million-dollar real estate suits to personal defamation lawsuits. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/01/donald-trump-lawsuits-legal-battles/84995854/
  4. Anyone like this: SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday found that the mass firings of probationary employees were likely unlawful, granting temporary relief to a coalition of labor unions and organizations that has sued to stop the Trump administration’s massive dismantling of the federal workforce.
  5. And man-farang is potato but 'potato eater' is old slang for Irish
  6. As I see it 'farang' is just a corruption of the Thai word for French because, if you met a white person in SE Asia 100+ years ago, he was, on most occasions, French. I have sometimes told Thai persons that -- although I do not care about the word 'farang' -- there are a lot of farangs out there who do.
  7. The White House says it ‘will determine’ which news outlets cover Trump, rotating traditional ones White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the changes would rotate traditional outlets from the group and include some streaming services. Leavitt cast the change as a modernization of the press pool, saying the move would be more inclusive and restore “access back to the American people” who elected Trump https://apnews.com/article/trump-ap-news-outlets-ban-gulf-mexico-25c77f617418dd3ca2791af90b263a59 I guess Ms. Leavitt forgot to mention that the press overhaul was also to improve the economy.
  8. As noted in an earlier topic this forum, AA Brokers will now only offer Thai issued policies.

  10. We have an English Bulldog across the street -- always penned but when left alone every day, the dog lets loose an existential howl if left alone too long. The neighbors have to listen to the dog, but the owners are spared. In USofA Denver there is a story now of 2 English Bulldog puppies being stolen from a pet store -- valued at $4300 EACH.
  11. NY Times?? You drank the Kool-Aid and what about Hunter's laptop? from the NYT archive link: “There’s more uncertainty than I think is widely appreciated,” said Michael Strain, an economist at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. “All the uncertainty around trade policy, uncertainty around some of the things that the Department of Government Efficiency is doing, I think will have a chilling effect on investment plans and expansion plans.”
  12. Speculation is on carbon monoxide poisoning but that presumes there was some kind of gas hookup to the house.
  13. OK. I lost track of who said what. So he was an obnoxious democrat before he became an obnoxious republican.
  14. I was only replying to your reference to "Americans who blab on about how much they hate Trump" Some I guess hate Trump since first became President; some have known of him much longer.
  15. Fascinating stuff. You were the one who used (this time) the word hate. But I told persons on here over the past nearly 2 years who said that DJT would not again be President: He'll be in jail: Don't underestimate this guy.
  16. I knew of the antics of Donald J. Trump for about 40 years before he (officially) ever got into politics.
  17. As someone who lived in mid-town Manhattan 1975-1980 I developed a visceral dislike for Donald J. Trump. Nothing much has changed.
  18. ... or else be prepared to be where they ain't.
  19. Although the modern reference to the above is mostly credited to Charlie Sheen in telling a judge in court, the real first public occurrence of the above is credited to Clark Gable: “Why would you do a thing like that,” (Adela St. Johns) said, “when all you have to do is whistle? Or grin?” “That’s why,” (Gable) said. “I can pay her to go away. The others stay around, want a big romance, movie lovemaking. I do not want to be the world’s great lover and I don’t like being put on that spot.” https://quoteinvestigator.com/2020/01/15/pay/
  20. Per the topic query Why on earth would you even consider paying for sex in Thailand? I had a girlfriend for a while. 165 cm Thai. She said (Thai conversation with poetic license): You see these t*ts? Ain't no one Thai or farang, straight or gay, male or female, getting near these t*ts for free.
  21. And per the photo, Ms. Leavitt says (maybe): He is the executive of the executive officer acting executively.
  22. The apology is believed to be the first he has made in public over the incident known as the "Tak Bai massacre", and comes nearly four months after the statute of limitations expired and murder charges against seven suspects were dropped. https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20250223-ex-pm-thaksin-apologises-over-massacre-in-southern-thailand
