Obliged to give copy of passport?
Woof999 replied to agg211's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you want a rental contract (and you'd be a fool not to if on a long visa where copies will be required), then that contract needs to be between two parties. One is the tenant, the other the landlord. Both need to be identified within the contract or it is not a contract. Mutual assent is one of the 4 key requirements of any contract. You cannot have that without identified parties. The landlord not willing to provide his ID is a red flag. Unless the rent is amazingly low, I'd walk away from the deal. No shortage of other properties for rent in this country. -
Trump leads Biden in 5 key battleground states: poll
Woof999 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's your responsibility to cite the sources of your claims. "Do your own research" type comments make you sound like a flat earther. Also, you really want to suggest that people should use ChatGPT to gain reliable info? Seriously? -
Lots of tailors on the roads immediately behind TukCom off Pattaya Tai. I'd use them for sure instead of trying to find someone really close.

Trump leads Biden in 5 key battleground states: poll
Woof999 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
To suggest that he is being politically persecuted is to suggest either that you believe Jan 6th was just another ordinary day in US history or that you believe he played no part in it. It suggests that you believe his cries of "Stop The Steal", which he continues to this day, are based on facts that just don't exist. The only facts are those that show HE was the one trying to perform the very steal that he accuses others of. It suggests that you believe hasn't committed any financial fraud. The guy cannot stand losing. He cannot accept defeat. He is the worst kind of loser. He made himself the huge target and then throws all the toys out of the pram when he finds himself in the firing line. The guy is a total disgrace and should not be in control of anything that affects the lives of others, let alone a whole nation. -

Only from Federal convictions, not State level. He deserves and is heading for both. -
Why are there so many idiots in this world?
Woof999 replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You post more than 10000 mostly pointless comments on this forum in less than less than 8 months and then ask why there are so many idiots? I spat out my tea. -

Indeed, they had a terrible tournament. When they get home they will be distraught until they remember: 1.) T20 - ranked 2nd in the world. (US is 22nd) 2.) ODI - ranked 6th in the world. (US is 17th) 3.) Test - ranked 3rd in the world. (US is not ranked) 4.) No matter how badly they play, they will not be American.

Should have mentioned: Rabbits are very sociable. Buy 2, not 1. Kids tend to get bored of rabbits quite quickly and I think it's cruel to leave them in solitary confinement. ps. tried to edit the original comment less than 60 seconds after I posted it. Apparently too much time had passed...

My wife bought rabbits for our kids (without my knowledge) from a certain large market near Lotus'ssssss south Pattaya. Initially asking for 2 of the same sex, we ended up with a boy and a girl. Sexing rabbits wasn't a skill of theirs, or my wife. Almost 3 years later, and having bought at least 4, we now have 2 healthy adult rabbits and at least 2 small crosses marking burial sites in the garden. The rabbits cost, at the time, 300 baht each. After one of the first rabbits died within days, the wife went back to the same market. The vendor apologised and said she could have 100 baht off the next rabbit. She agreed and picked another rabbit, at which point she was asked for another 300 baht. "But what about the 100 baht off?" she asked. "Rabbits have gone up 100 baht" was the reply... TLDR; although I can't recommend a specific vendor, you're right in looking for a decent pet shop rather than a "street" vendor. On Sukhumvit west side, south of Thepprassit, there is a large store that sells wooden pet enclosures, some of which look rather nice. Just be aware that rabbits like to chew wood.

Carrying a Swiss Army Knife while in Thailand?

Ticket $ 5,00. Taxes $ 53,39. Total $ 58,39. No one complains....

Never did understand why the US does it that way. November 1st 2023 is not ambiguous, neither is 1st November 2023. However, when using numerical representation, it always makes most sense to order the numbers by magnitude, whether ascending or descending, so day, month, year or even year, month, day. -
I've often said that being born in the early 70s was perfect. 10 years or so of having to actually go out and see real people in real situations. Experiencing real social interactions and forming healthy relationships with people who wouldn't "unfriend" you with a single click of a mouse because you didn't upvote the photo of their breakfast. Then in the late 70s / early 80s to learn and understand computer science from the very ground up, to the point that I'm more computer literate than 99%+ of Gen Zs and can actually create the (anti-) social apps they spent much of their lives on rather than only participating on them. Sure, it would have been nice to have the internet as a knowledge resource, or GPS for travelling, Grab / Bolt for food ordering, but I can still read a paper map, not drive my car into a river because an electronic map told me to and interact in pretty much any face to face situation. Wouldn't change it for the world, but like most, would love to relive my youth.

Man admits to murdering 6-year-old son in Hua Hin
Woof999 replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Maybe if he was aborted before birth... but the right wing "right to life" wouldn't allow that. More to the point, what has the polarised western implementation of leftness and rightness got to do with a Thai scumbag? -
I hear it's very popular with the English.

Got to say a big thanks to the Mods. This thread could have been closed down ages ago and likely it still will be, but they are allowing us to have a laugh. For that, thanks. -

Until there's a universal belief that you should take ownership of problems that you create, complaints here more often than not achieve nothing. -
