  1. Not until you've done your homework.
  2. The "behind the back" gossip I see from my wife's friends is somewhat above what I've seen back in Europe, but not so far that it's not just a normal (albeit ugly) trait. Not having the gumption to tackle an issue directly leads to living with situations you don't like. I prefer the face to face approach myself.
  3. In which case you don't stay out until 4am by your own choice, not because someone else took that choice away from you. It's really not that difficult.
  4. Lol yes this. I've even spent several minutes searching for something that I was already holding.
  5. Rather short sighted. What if you finish work at 11pm, take 1 hour to get home, 1 hour to get ready and 30 minutes to get to the "nightlife". Your 7 hours is now down to 2.5 hours tops.
  6. Zero fear of death, but not looking forward to any future days of pain or of being trapped in a body that doesn't work. As Bob Monkhouse said, I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep, rather than screaming in terror like my passengers.
  7. Get well soon sir. Start a GoFundMe page, most of the members here are pleased to see them 😉
  8. Ignoring the feature changes, the new style of the forum is somewhat ugly. eg, the AN logo is now way too big and with way too little margin around it. Goes against everything design 101.
  9. I suspect it's a certain browser extension that you use to remove certain content from websites. Don't think we're allowed to specifically mention the type of extension here, but I have the same issue. Work around of course is to right click and open in a new tab. Painful, but let painful than not having the extension installed.
  10. Option 1: Learn how to use modern versions of Windows properly. For example, it is absolutely possible to uninstall Edge from Win 11. Just Google (or use your next favourite search engine if you're really that p$ssed at Google) for it. You might need to get more familiar with the command prompt to achieve a few things, but if you think Linux will negate that need, think again
  11. Bullshod. A real mate would have taken the car keys and not let him drive. Maybe paid for a taxi too.
  12. Empty them, clean them and change the filters frequently. Continue to use one with clogged filters and you'll quickly ruin the motor. Keep the filters clean (replacements are dirt cheap and easy to find on Lazada etc) and they'll last for ages and easily out suck the maid.
  13. Total bollards, apart from the fact that many Thais (and many non Thais) don't like being told what to do (ie they are more important than anyone else). It's against the law. What else is there to discuss? https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2490204/motorists-warned-of-pedestrian-crossing-penalties
  14. Is it really that the falang on the crossing can't integrate or that the driver on the crossing is a complete moron who shouldn't be anywhere near a set of car keys?
  15. If it was a weapon anything like the one you're describing, those roof tiles would all have been blown to smitherines (the majority of them are still intact and in place), as would those flimsy looking roof structures located very nearby.
  16. My feet get too sweaty in flip flop type footwear, so much so that trying to walk anything over average speed and I'm in danger of breaking an ankle. I do wear them around the exterior of the house, bare feet inside, and pretty much always trainers when anywhere further afield.
  17. If an Israeli rocket / missile / bomb, impacting at its intended target, can only disturb a few dozen paving bricks and burn a few cars, without doing much if any blast damage to those cars or the buildings immediately surrounding it then Israel really need to surrender immediately. Unless of course that same weapon can instantly vapourise 500 humans (because where are they?) while doing such little property damage.
  18. ...and how many primates were alive at the time?
  19. Bill padding in go-gos. Oh the humanity!
  20. The banks are making it harder and harder to keep everything electronically traceable while at the same time demanding more and more that they are. I say... feck 'em.
  21. EDIT: I didn't read your post properly, sorry.
  22. +1. Used them for around 8 years (although nothing for a while now.... naughty me). Spent a few hundred thousand baht with them and the service and advice has always been excellent.
  23. Many will know him from his acting roles, his name first reminds me of the Top Gear test track. RIP Sir. https://news.sky.com/story/harry-potter-and-gosford-park-actor-sir-michael-gambon-has-died-12971592
  24. I wouldn't have applied for the job in the first place, unless upholding the law wasn't my primary concern, at which point I wouldn't give a monkey's what anyone thought of my performance.
