  1. I see it in the news, often.
  2. Even if they conquer this message, then comes the quality of the helmet. Many that I've seen for sale here are almost worthless. I'd still take a cheap helmet over no helmet but, as Martin Brundle says, "cheap head? cheap helmet".
  3. Whatever your circumstances, here's hoping you have a great time. Plenty of chance of you being able to repeat it after the op too maybe...
  4. Perhaps Stonehenge or La Traviata? OP says he's coming for the girls, nightlife and food. Pattaya ticks all 3 better than most other places on Earth.
  5. Yes, dude. You didn't directly. BUT... after knowing that they'd almost killed him (and might still have), you posted that you're sorry to hear that they might be in any kind of trouble and offered to help pay towards their legal bills. Not once have you suggested that they might have gone too far. Pretty much the opposite. We're talking about 2 human beings that over reacted to a total idiot, not to a caged lion. You seem to be defending the latter. Because you asked me! "Do you see Thais messing with us Tourists?" was your question and I answered it. Whether the same happens in other countries is besides the point. If you don't want the answer, why ask the question? You seems to think that Thais being the locals are above the law when it comes to ANYTHING related to interaction with a foreigner. Often that is what happens in reality, but if you think that is right then what can I say.... You seem to equate me not agreeing with some of the things going on in LoS with me not knowing some of the things going on in LoS. There is a huge difference. Again, the Brit was a total muppet. He was asking for what he got. That doesn't mean that these 2 Thais should have given it to him. The Brit deserving to be punished does not mean the Thais don't deserve theirs too.
  6. Bless you. Often. Opportunist thefts. Pick pockets. Dual pricing. Scams specifically targetting foregingers. None of which negates the fact I chose to live here for the many positives. So do I. Neither have I. None of the above means that is was right for the locals to potentially kill him. I already wrote that the Brit was a muppet and was asking for it. He deserved to be put in his place. He did not deserve to be almost killed. If you think he did deserve to be killed then you've probably lived here too long.
  7. Two young Thais drinking alcohol outside a 7-11 in the early morning hours should be judge, jury and executioner? Great idea. The Brit in the story was a muppet and was asking to be attacked. That doesn't mean the attackers should have taken him up on his offer.
  8. Start a new tread about it. I'll happily debate you.
  9. Did you live in the UK 30 years ago, 40, 50? If you did, whereabouts? If you cannot see a massive difference over that time then something is wrong (perhaps with me, but I don't think so). On the wider topic, multi culturalism, to me, is much more than just differing cultures living within a closer proximity. It is about those differing cultures integrating, accepting, empathising, sharing and many other "ings". I've rarely seen that happen and I'm really not surprised. To directly push for it, force it through with laws and criticism of any opposition is, IMHO a huge mistake. That is the main reason that I wasn't oh so bothered about leaving the EU (although again I think it was a mistake). The UK's position on immigration and multi culturalism is now more in its own domain, so any blame also lies there. We have no chance when the aliens finally arrive. We typically can't tolerate the same species from a few hundred miles away. How do you think we'll react to a different species from a few hundred light years away...?
  10. In a small geography within the country perhaps, but it was more multi-origin (my own term) rather than multi cultural. Where I grew up there were a few Chinese, Indian and Pakistani immigrants. Apart from their skin colour being darker and most of them having stereotypical businesses (newsagents on a street corner or a take away) they lived their lives very similarly to me or anyone else that I knew. They were and continue to be as British as me. Sure there were other areas that were very different, but this was not the norm. I would go to school and all I would hear is the same language in the same accent without exception. A few years ago I collected my child from the same school that I used to attend. The majority of parents were speaking a foreign language and the few that spoke English were heavily accented. Multi cultural Britain today is significantly different than it was just a few decades ago, in my opinion.
  11. I'm pretty sure it's not a celebrated. Tar everyone with the same brush though and you'll get the reaction you're clearly looking for.
  12. ...and there haven't been any Chinese or Russians making any news in Thailand over the past few months now have there. What is your point?
  13. That might go some way to explain the Malay > Thai conflict in the south, which has been ongoing for around 75 years.
  14. The lower classes and the less educated (often the same social groups) from the UK often still have the means to holiday half way around the world. You compared Brits with Swedes. The UK has almost 7x the population compared to Sweden, with Sweden being roughly the same distance from Thailand. All else being equal, you'd expect almost 7x the trouble. I expect the same could be said of, for example, the US lower classes, which far outnumber those from most other western countries. However, rather than causing trouble half way around the world, they are likely doing it back at home, or in Mexico, or maybe in Washington on a random early day in January.
  15. Is there not an amulet that can stop you crashing in the first place?
  16. Unless you specifically enjoy doing the gardening, labour here is crazy cheap. My gardener is here 3 times a week for 1-2 hours each time and charged 3000 baht per month (he set the price, not me). Brings his own petrol strimmer / mower etc. Doesn't hurt my back or my wallet at all.
  17. Used to have the odd Yamaha and Korg back in the day. Most recently I used an M-Audio 88 key midi keyboard. They are ok (and cheap), but the feel is totally off. Semi weighted, which is typically fine for a synth, but I want a true piano feel. Bought a Roland F130R about 9 years ago. Had it delivered from Japan to the UK, then straight back to Cambodia via Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, then finally back to Bangkok again! It's very well travelled. Love it. Feels great, sounds great and still semi portable (ish). Sure it's not a synth, but I have a PC for that. Suriya Music in Pattaya opposite the eastern entrance to Thepprasit might be a buying option.
  18. Apart from turning you into a right wing Trump supporter, did it have any other serious side effects?
  19. Oh how I long to be orange. Keep it in the family eh. Very American.
  20. If the engine light is on then there would almost certainly be a fault code recorded. Any decent garage will have an OBD fault code reader that will tell you why the light is on, whether it's likely a faulty sensor or something more serious. If the light was on when you took it to the dealer and they had an ounce of skill, they would already have read the fault codes.
  21. You also believe he's worth 2Bn. I guess he has the skill to lead the gullible. Again, not a skill I would admire.
  22. I'm not running for PoTUS, nor facing a load of indictments..
  23. Ad hominem. The mark of a true debater. He is one of the weakest men in the public eye I've ever seen. He cannot tolerate any kind of criticism, constructive or not. About himself. That's a positive? He inherited lots of money. Which of his business enterprises are profitable? How many has he put into bankrupcy? You know little to nothing about my skills.
