And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal
it is what it is replied to Galong's topic in Phuket
Six of my very good friends have had enough of Phuket and all six are leaving because of traffic. Another friend and his family of four just bought a house a relocated here from the UK. After just a few months, they are already looking for ways to leave. they obviously have a very narrow minded view of thailand, why on earth would you choose to live in phuket in the first place? they were asking for trouble, and found it. instead of running away they should have taken the time to travel, educate themselves, get to know thailand. tbh, thailand is better off without this people like this. -
inflation looming and a leader talking about recession, nice management of stock market expectations... so smart.

Celebrating Songkran: Thailand Bets Big on Boosting Tourism
it is what it is replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
i get that children and teenagers, to an extent, finding throwing water highly amusing, but just look at the adults doing it, invariably they are the lower class, uneducated of the population. non of my thai friends will go anywhere near the water throwing, they, quite sensibly, see it for what it is and would dearly love for the idiocy to stop. -
very sad, but a lesson to us all, don;t ride beyond your capabilities, will be interesting to see whether alcohol + speed played a part, or just a lack of ability to ride an ATV, let's assume for now alcohol didn;t. ATV's are notorious for accidents for inexperienced riders.

Bangkok Buses Upgrade: QR Codes & E-Wallets Accepted
it is what it is replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
agree, what's needed is a unilateral, accepted by all modes of transport, travelcard, the same as most major cities around the world take for granted, but for some reason seems unachievable here. -

Where the farangs actually are in Thai society
it is what it is replied to AndyAndyAndy's topic in General Topics
not at all uncommon, happens back home, people overestimate their relationships at work, when work is the only thing they have in common. it's pretty sad really. -

Foreigners Face New Hurdles in Opening Thai Bank Accounts
it is what it is replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
it's the way ofthe world, not thailand's fault. thailand has been behind the banking security curve and is starting to catch up. if you really desire to live in a country with dodgy banking security go elsewhere... -

AI is amazing. however, as with much technology, garbage in, garbage out. i suspect the people using AI often don't really understand how it works, or are too lazy to do more then push a button and then publish, with no QC. I use AI in my writing work and photography, used correctly it's an absolute game changer.
