  1. this guy's pretty creative and adventurous https://www.youtube.com/@Adz
  2. Tak was fresh off the Udon Thani Pattaya bus, and straight into a local bar when I met her early one morning in 2000. of course she was 🤣
  3. The Thais love their bass! they certainly do, and their distortion, and snowstorms on their tvs
  4. been coming and going for 20 odd years, old airport and new, and can honestly say i've never had a problem with the airport or immigration. it's basically fit for purpose. i don't particularly like the aesthetic or atmosphere of the place, to much concrete, chrome and metal, but that's subjective.
  5. Not drugs or serious stuff like that. More like domestic violence. nothing serious, just a bit of domestic violence.
  6. indeed, street vendors have smoky fires on pavement stall all around my area, everyone complains about the pollution but no one stops or challenges those who cause it.
  7. not just thais, facebook is used for commercial purposes in many countries, personally i wouldn't.
  8. true, but the uk accepts the problem and tries to do something about it. unlike america and guns...
  9. i was so outraged that i stopped to film the incident and, did i go straight to report to the police? no, of course not, i was so outraged i put it on the internet. disgusted of tunbridge wells.
  10. happens the world over, people get into debt and banks, charities and occasionally governments are prepared to offer support and help. but first, people have to help themselves.
  11. nonsense. meanwhile, in the real world, most of my thai friends have graduated from universities abroad studying to bachelor or masters degree, in their second language - could you do that? didn't think so. they have professional jobs equal to any in the west. you can find the uneducated and ill informed in any country. before you make generalised negative comments about thais i suggest you get out of the bar and meet and get to know some thai people, they are educated, well traveled, very capable people
  12. in the uk, in and out in a few hours, i've taken quite a few oldies for this op in the past because they can't drive after the procedure.
  13. and i'm pretty sure those that enjoy hanging out there will not be going to the places that you hang out. horses for courses, live and let live, don;t moan so much just get on with life and be happy.
  14. don't know why you're using the thai adjective, people are gullible the world over, that's why scammers are so successful.
  15. as bob dylan said, patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings. when things are not going well for a government, the economy for example, xenophobia and whipping up the right wing, is pretty much guaranteed to stir up the masses and divert attention from, for example, the economy.
  16. chip, shoulder and an inability to communicate effectively, which may be the cause of chip, shoulder...
  17. my uk credit card was cloned and used in the uk while i was in thailand. i only every use it for buying flights, so how it was cloned is interesting. apparently, the fraudulent sales were confirmed via my mobile app, but not the one on my phone! the purchases were small and for deliveroo, a uk food delivery company. HSBC were excellent in dealing with the situation, responding promptly and effectively. they canceled my card, issued a new one and i received full refund.
  18. no fool like an old fool, and he doesn't even have the excuse of being old. next.
  19. logic would suggest; decide what number is acceptable, control numbers with sterilisation and transfer excess animals to another suitable location. surely, it can;t be too difficult.
  20. clearly both show shocking driving/riding and road awareness skills. riding a big bike without a helmet anywhere is a bad idea, in thailand it displays particular stupidity. wearing headphones while riding a bike? plus the biker needs needs to take an anger awareness/management course. ultimately both at fault. and if the car driver's a doctor then the aussie is in real trouble.
  21. two similar looking bald, overweight men on flight to thailand, who'd have thunk it?
  22. i'd like to know where they get their statistics from, while one is too many, seven sounds like an awfully low number for a population of around 70 million.
