  1. It all sounds great on paper but after having done a quick Google search as well as the ISG forum, it seems that err......female company, be it p4p or casual/easy, is basically non-existent or at least super difficult. So, hard pass (for me). For now. But interesting nevertheless.
  2. Nah, just a yank who doesn't drink MSM cool aid. Z!
  3. I'd rather be around 100 Russians than 100 Brits/Aussies/the usual annoying pissheads in the 25-45 age (ad let's face it, male) demographic. Sure, they're "cold" (many reasons for this as another poster has correctly pointed out) but as a whole (and considering how many there here), they keep to themselves and keep a low profile. I'd bet that relatively, the ratio of Russians vs the usual pissheads being involved with altercations/bad behavior/police is significantly less.
  4. While not married yet, send your Thai gf/bf money in reasonable increments that won't trigger legal problems on her end (i.e. I'd say $100k/THB 3.5-ish mil per year should not rouse any heads). Just make sure she really loves ya 555 😀
  5. Dumagete is a popular destination these days for new falang retirees. Cebu is ok depending on the neighborhood you can afford. Manila is the same but the traffic is unbearable. Angeles City is an even worse s-hole than Patong. Loads of falang in Subic Bay. Thousands of islands and communities of various sizes to choose from.... Having said that, it's not for everyone. Just ike LoS.
  6. Always go where you feel you are treated best. I moved here from the Philippines a few years back to see if maybe life can get even better than it is, and while LoS has a couple of significant advantages (namely better infrastructure and better local cuisine), the other bureaucratic hassles and cultural "nuisances"/quirks tip the scales back in favor of the Phils, (for me). I don't regret any of my time here but look forward to being back in the Pines soon. My main reasons: Nicer beaches/waters/natural scenes (thousands of islands!) Cultural similarity - Filipinos are basically like warm, friendly Mexicans who are easy to communicate with. Immigration - 3 years without having to leave country, as well as a boatload of cheap PERMANENT visa options Women - more compatible for a Western man for both marriage/relationships or single life (and just as nuts as they all are). MUCH MUCH LESS louty drunk Brit/Aussie etc. tourist douchebags and a better if smaller quality expat community
  7. Club it like a real baby seal and put yourself out of the misery of owning one of these donkeys.
  8. Are you in a high risk group? If not i.e. hetero having "normal" non-rough vag-willy sex, then there's really no need for PreP as transmission is extremely difficult.
  9. Oh fun, now LoS will get a lot of that trash.
  10. Lol, not one of you geniuses has commented that even if the unit is converted to foreign quota, the "heir" still has to bring in the assessed value of the unit from overseas if he/she to change the title into his/her name. So either way, you are "buying" the unit (and good luck trying to wire that money out again once it has served its purpose).
  11. 555...I know how you feel.
  12. I lived in Poocrap for almost a decade and only just recently made my "escape".......it was nice enough 2016-2021ish and of course the scamdemic made it absolute paradise to live as a small handfull of expats were basically blessed with our ow little private island. Post-scamdemic the change in tourist demographics has come to the point where it's unbearable. The absolute worst of the worst of various nationalities infest the island (and no, I do not mean Russians, they are generally low profile). "French" Arabs on their gay big scooters endangering everyone on the street, louty "beer is perfectly ok at 9am" young Brits/Aussies etc., whiny Europeans, dorky yanks, annoying loud Chyner herds constantly getting in the way, etc etc. Generally bad quality pricey Thai and falang food (still laugh my azz off whenever I see a tourist forking over 180-200 bt for a lousy pineapple fried rice, lol). Crappy condo quality. My 5 million bt "luxury" condo was, like almost all condo developments there, a total pig with lipstick. Looked nice but pathetic construction quality. The locals (most of whom don't come from the island anyway) are IMO the most aloof of all Thais I've been around, but I don't find too many of them "unfriendly"....just not very genuine in their smiles. Mostly just the give me money give me money smirk. Pattaya/BKK/CM etc. much better, and here in Khon Kaen I finally feel like I'm living among mostly perfectly normal well adjusted human beings 99% of the time. Also have a small handful of solid falang friends who don't spend the whole time whining about the place. Miss the beaches but overall a great decision I should have probably made years ago. Now I just fly to the Philippines for beach time. PI (7000+ islands!).
  13. My only takeaway from this post is that it takes a special kind of financially illiterate person with near zero awareness of modern standard methods of obtaining money to purchase one's home country currency overseas. Jesus Christ.
  14. While probably a d-bag, his general point is correct. About 70% of folks here (and I'll specify native English speaker) seem IMO Downs-level defective. Not to mention the pathetic 2nd grade grammar mistakes (to,too.....of course/"Off course"....etc.etc.) I see in every thread.
  15. Highly recommend buying a jar of green olives to go along the SaengSom. Also, add a small dash of the brine. Trust me, it's fantastic even though it sounds horrific. Cheers.
  16. I think you were not entirely truthful about the "quadruple" part......admit it, it's 8 shots and you've already been drinking all day.
  17. The ones whose bill you're paying - your gf's husband and his 3 brothers.
  18. Absolutely correct. As for the individual in question, he was a grade A a-hole, trust me. Not many, expats not locals, were very saddened by the event.
  19. Seeing as that they won't even enforce the simplest of safety laws, I won't be putting my baseball bat into storage anytime soon while waiting for this place to introduce breed specific legislation.
  20. I was at the BR resto/bar years ago when the local dude on motorcycle came in put a bullet into that staff abusing Ozzy a-hole owner's head. Interesting night. Was a s-hole even then.
  21. If you're a beach bum/water activities guy - Palawan, hands down.
  22. Olongapo itself is a s-hole. What you are probably referring to is the Subic Bay/Bario Barretto. Lived there for years. If you're into bargirls - overpriced barfines due to basically one American pimp named David Fischer owning all the bars, dirty beach/water (we call it Sewerbic), crap hotels, condo/housing rental prices exploding. Falang food is ok. Weather is good. No hurricanes big enough to really cause too much damage. Mall The former "base" is a nice clean safe place for recreation and has some good properties for sale/rent. Then of course, being the PI, the people are a lot closer to us culturally.
