Do you really believe that wearing a mask on a motorbike will protect you from exhaust fumes? It makes absolutely no difference. The fumes will come in through the gaps around the mask, you will never get a perfect seal and if you did you wouldn't be able to breath properly. Waste of time.

I forgot to mention. One of the individuals I spoke to today told me I have 3 x valid passports?? I renewed both my passports previously in Newport, Wales in 2017. I handed them both over and they snipped the edges and allegedly cancelled them. This was done in 1 day. I went there at 9am in person and picked up 2 x new passports at 1pm. Apparently one of the snipped passports is still active. She told me to report it stolen (bad advice). I said OK give me the passport number, she said she can't release that info over the phone. She told me this may be the problem but to be honest she never had a clue and was quite rude in the end. Another guy told me to apply for an emergency passport!! Lol. Why would I have to do that? In all my years I can honestly say this is the worst/most incompetent service I have ever received in my life, in any industry. They are overwhelmed, blaming Brexit and Covid. Good luck to anybody applying from abroad now. As I previously said my kids passports were back in 6 weeks with no problems. Luck of the draw I guess!!!??

I have found myself in a bit of a pickle!! I have 2 passports for work, this is normal for offshore workers. I used VFS when applying. I sent copies of every page of both passports with the application on the 12 April. Called today. No exaggeration I was on the phone in total for 3 hours. Every time I called I was passed on twice. Long holds in between with the usual soft music. Nobody knows the status of the application. I was told it was checked on the 20th May and that was it. They promised me a call back which they don't normally do overseas, they never did call. I have had 2 passports for years. They can't tell me if the old passport has been cancelled. I am due back in the middle east in a week. My Thai visa is in the passport I applied for and will be cancelled at some point. It is 5 years old and nearly full, hence the application for a new one. I applied straight after my last trip hoping to get it in 10 weeks. I applied for both my kids passports 4 months ago in exactly the same way and got them back in 6 weeks later so I thought I would be safe. Not sure if immigration will move my Thai visa across to my other passport or do i gamble and travel on the other passport and hope it's not cancelled. I think (hope) my application has just gone missing. They have taken the money from my account. This has nothing to do with VFS. I spoke to about 15 people today in HMPO and although some were sympathetic most were completely clueless and just passed me on. They gave me a reference number today over the phone. It doesn't work online. I realize mine is an unusual case.

Word of caution!! Some countries will require the test certificate to have a QR code. The Bangkok Hospital Chaing Mai certificate doesn't have one. My test cert was refused at check in, in Bangkok, I missed my flight, had to get another test at Princ Hospital in Bangkok and fly the next day. An unexpected curve ball!!

Go to your local driving lesson center and ask them. I paid 3000 baht + normal costs. They did everything for me including my medical. Turned up, front on the queue, 10 minutes, job done. Got just under 6 years. I did mine a week after my birthday.

That would create a problem for me. I will need it back in 6 weeks to leave the country. My other passport has my Saudi visa. I wanted both visa's in the same passport. Unusual situation. It is just the way things have worked out, sending passports off for visa's during Covid. Maybe a rethink is required?

I have an extension of stay based on a retirement visa. It is valid until next July. It has the multi entry stamp in it as well. I have 2 UK passports. Is it possible to move the stamps from the one passport (which is nearly full) to the other one (half full)? Once I have done this I intend to apply for a new second passport handing my nearly full passport in. Any thoughts?

I was in the same boat as you 4 months ago. It will be a 6am checkout. I booked the midday flight and checked out at 09.30am. I was 15 minutes from the airport. Just confirm with the hotel when you arrive for peace of mind.

There are too many people getting bogged down in legal arguments. The bottom line is he will be found guilty. An innocent verdict would indicate the Thai's made a mistake extraditing him, this would result in too much loss of face. Innocent or guilty the guy is doomed, Thai justice 101!

Another potential option would be to take a holiday in Dubai on the way back.

One option would be to open a Bitkub account. You could transfer from Binance to Bitkub and from there into your Thai account. That would create an off ramp.
