  1. Not actually pointless. Local reading can vary, and even though air purifier 'may' have meter built in (mine don't), it's nice to know the PM2.5, as that sometimes, most times, does not agree with the 'safe' good/moderate level of AQI readings. Though good/moderate AQI may be <50/<100, the PM2.5 may be 3-5-10X more than 'WHO' healthy levels. @Tropicalevo Meter doesn't have to be expensive, Ours, from LAZ or AliExpress was inexpensive. Was this type, and bought years ago, and 1000 baht mark rings a bell. Seems inflation has hit. Really liking the Xiaomi meter posted above, and would go with that if buying one 👍 Along with their air purifiers, which we have 2 of. Shows all the #s you need; PM2.5 AQI Temp RH and more Example of why needed, AQI 'low moderate' but PM2.5 is 6+ X healthy levels, so time to turn things on.
  2. I think there is something wrong with people that repeatedly feel the need to question other people's purchase decision for products they have no interest in buying. How many times have you told us EVs are a stupid purchase ? Worse, how many more times will you try to convince us that they still are ? Definitely something wrong with some people ... Mirror mirror
  3. As far as I'm concerned, any 8 yr old ICEV is worthless to me, as that's when things will eventually start to go wrong and might leave us stranded while O&A. My finances are so, that's not necessary for me to be in that position any more. Owning 2nd hand cars, as I did when not having healthier finances. Left that lifestyle when I retired. Sold the 3 POS ICEV here around the 125-150k kms mark.
  4. Extremely intelligent ... OK, not really, just not ignorant. Not a wanna be or show off. Or even a car enthusiast, though do appreciate my 'specific' use vehicles back in the USA trucks ... work & manly presence of course Caddy ... for comfort Firebird ... for playing MCs ... both scenic cruising & thrill satisfying Here in TH, until MG arrive, only bought inexpensive (not really) new, entry level POSs, as TBH, not sure if I was staying in TH, and anything more comfy was out of my car budget. Just refuse to spend 1M baht for 4 wheels. Not the car enthusiast, so being thrifty kicks in. More just a machine for going point A - B EV does that in more comfort for <1M baht, than previous POSs, and as economical as you can get to maintain & operate. Performance is a really nice added plus. It's a car, no more, no less, but a fun one to drive over the previous 3 non MG POSs.
  5. Not being insensitive to the loss of lives and all with it, but agree. We popped down to Khao Lak & Phuket just after the tsunami, and the beaches were all pristine again. Sadly, didn't take long to screw it all up again. Times 10 when it comes to Khal Lak, as it continues to expand. Hua Hin doesn't really have that issue, as all beachfront is utilized already, so some regulations may help keep the stupid people from hurting themselves and others. Not that I would swim in the gulf fronting HH anyway.
  6. Agree 100% Mind boggling people can't seem to think for themselves.
  7. Yep, I had same problem, with 2nd house at Udon Thani and consistently the same % off on 3 deliveries. After 2 deliveries, I advised them they were off. 3 rd delivery, someone came out to verify I was ordering the correct amount. Truck showed up a couple hours later, and same % off
  8. Overhead of the garden ... Oriental Honey Buzzard
  9. Mag. 2.4 quake - 63 km west of Cha-am, Phetchaburi, Thailand, on Saturday, Jan 20, 2024, at 10:16 pm (Bangkok time) - 17 hours ago
  10. @GammaGlobulin One's a city, ones a country...but... HELL NO ... to many overly fat / obese people, and not just the expats, the women also. Imagine if you will, half the women at Pattaya, as fat as all the farangs on Soi 6
  11. WW III ... Just plain silliness. Most ALL the countries are intertwined economically/trade wise. A major war would benefit nobody. There will always be conflicts and skirmishes, worldwide, as simply too profitable not to have never ending wars.
  12. Read some folks think YT purposely slows it down to non paying members, along with those like myself, that use an AdBlocker. Use to get the pop up window 'allow ads' which if wanting to see, refresh, or pause AdBlocker. Then stopped getting the window, but, like you, seemed to run slower. Now seems to be back to normal, and that's w/AdBlocker on.
  13. Most laptops are very easy to work on, especially RAM/Memory swap out. Drives easy enough also.
  14. Definitely need a greenhouse for fruits, or the squirrel & birds will beat you to the pickin'. Have ours mainly for the figs and tomatoes. More figs than anything. Have mulberries in the back yard, and birds leave a few for the wife.
  15. We always had them in the garden, at suburbia Philly. Pick them and eat them like an apple, 1 slice sandwiches ... BLISS Find best tasting tomatoes here are the cherry tomatoes, Takes a few to compensate for larger tomato, but at least has some flavor.
  16. Tell me about it ... as not much success here. Can't beat a Jersey (USA) beefsteak tomato. 1 slice would cover a slice of bread for a sandwich. And definitely less water, or they'll split before ripening
  17. Where do y'all get you info. Thailand produces almost enough to meet the needs of TH. Most of the imported milk is used to process milk products for export.
  18. And yet ... https://aseannow.com/topic/1315841-is-this-the-future-for-ev-cars/page/9/#comment-18610521 Did someone mention Aussie EV sales ... ... "December’s numbers indicate that 7.2% of the market was fully electric (BEV) and 1% PHEV. Over 98,000 vehicles sold in Australia in December, with around 8% having a plug. This is a 161% increase over December 2022 Tesla reported the highest level of growth amongst the top ten automakers (135%), delivering 46,116 electric cars in 2023. And it was another record year for plug-in electric car sales, with over 87,000 delivered. The Australian market has come a long way — from less than 1% penetration 3 years ago to over 8% this last year."
