Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
KhunLA replied to impulse's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
No to me, as don't need or would use any features that my old POCO phone has. Rarely use the actually phone part. GPS & camera is about all I need. Maybe internet, as 'hotspot', when house or hotel internet isn't playing nice. New & fast enough to run the few apps I have loaded on it. -
My total cholesterol / HDL ratio & Trig / HDL ratio are both excellent. Even 6 months ago, when my total cholesterol was off the chart @ 353, my Cholesterol / HDL - C ratio was a desirable 5.1 Too high for my liking, so brought it down. On topic of course ... Glucose now 5.3 Even better on the cholesterol front, and everyone should get this tested, as one of the best non invasion (OK , needle / blood test), got my ApoB # back today, and 87. Should be dying of any CVD anytime soon, hopefully. These are #s everyone should know about themselves, and the tests are inexpensive here: Lipid panel. ApoB & Glucose 2 were < 600 baht 1 was < 400 baht

Yea, buy a more expensive, underperforming ICEV, that the petrol degrades every part of the engine it touches when you start it.

@KannikaP you might think they don't have adverse effects, but that's only because, most here think diarrhea is normal. Guess it beats being constipated Although they can never trust a fart 🙄

Nah, I'm not really concerned about LDL being @ 130. By itself borderline high, but to ratio of HDL, damn good @ 3.1 & 2.1 ... "The total cholesterol to HDL cholesterol ratio is calculated by dividing your total cholesterol level by your HDL (good) cholesterol level. A desirable ratio is 5:1, and an optimal ratio is 3.5:1. A higher ratio indicates a higher risk of heart disease" ... ..."The LDL/HDL ratio, calculated by dividing LDL cholesterol by HDL cholesterol, is a crucial indicator of cardiovascular health risk. A higher ratio indicates a higher risk of heart disease. Ideally, this ratio should be below 5. Lower ratios, particularly below 2, are considered beneficial" ... Then Trig / HDL ratio even better @ 0.87 ... "The Triglyceride to HDL (trig/HDL) ratio is a measure that helps assess the risk of heart disease and other related conditions. It's calculated by dividing your triglyceride level by your HDL cholesterol level. A lower ratio is generally considered more desirable, with a ratio of 2.0 or less being idea" ...

If you would read my replies, then you'd understand what I stated, and your reply wouldn't be necessary. Asking a question I already answered. OP's link doesn't show any 'ugliness' or protests. How you don't understand, as with most things posted ... falls under 'fake new / op-ed'

What are you having for Dinner tonight?

That is at rest, probably just woke, or late evening. And if petting the dog, well .. .nuff said. Big heart, slow HR. Was always a healthy lad, good upper body mass & legs (cycling). Not always a LPOS. Usually it's 60+/-, but rarely 65+. "A larger heart results in higher cardiac output, which may allow it to beat more slowly at rest, as more blood is pumped out with each beat. Another sign of athlete's heart syndrome is an S3 gallop, which can be heard through a stethoscope" = wiki Just got some #s back this week, and even better than before. As my Total cholesterol was off the chart, since a Keto-ish diet, and way too much saturated fats. so I cut back on that, the past 6 months, and guess more a Med or DASH diet. Changed to only Canola oil, no more making my own chocolate (coconut oil), or eating as much. Use to use coconut, EVOO & Peanut oils. Cut back on cheeses & cashews also, as 'go to' snack. Don't make as many cheesecakes, though have a bit left in th frig 🤫 My HDL / Trig ratio was excellent last time (1:1) and even better this time. Waiting on APOB #, and should be <90 To the title, Glucose 5.3 👍

Then I would have had to pay 250k out of pocket for that little oops, which was my fault. The little oops, made having auto insurance in TH worth it, as over 20+ years, that probably what auto insurance cost me. Most times <10k a year, many times 10-13k a year. Call that a savings plan, for when I have an oops. One of my pet peeves, auto insurance, and rarely had it in the USA, and never needed it. Here, TH, it's a bit different, as people are suicidal, and good to have, if someone decides to commit suicide with your vehicle ... or, if you're an airhead, and pull out in front of someone, too slow ... oops 🙄 I do have just the mandatory govt ins on the motorbike. Don't drive that fast enough to get in much trouble.

NO ... as basic physics tells me, you can't squeeze more air through a small tube, simply because the the opening may be a wee bit larger at one end.

1 yr old Dolphin won't be worth 1M, so what ever the total loss value is, and if repair matches or exceed, then you'll get what the issued value is. They are all fairly, or has been my experience. Didn't ask what top pay out, insured value would be, as don't care. When shopping for our insurance, 2nd & 3rd year coverage, they were the cheapest, and coverage about the same as vendors wanting 22k & 25k. You can pay more for insurance, but you don't have to. As I mention, Roojai were excellent for our small oops (MG ZS EV @ ฿250k repair bill), and repair done at MG dealer. I would consider myself an idiot, if I paid 32.6k for insurance, when I could have paid 10k, but I didn't shop around. Now you know, so might want to check their rate when renewing. You're Welcome

Until you trip and break your hip. As if walking forward in TH wasn't difficult enough at times.

So, not much different than the rest of the world ... Well, for those sipping from their half empty glass vs the folks sipping from the half full glass 😎 Until any trade deal is actually signed, if so, and then delivered to Congress to get ratified, then the entertainment will continue.

If I actually cared about USA / CN relations, then I might Thankfully don't live in either country, or buy anything in or from the USA. As do most other AN members.
-
My bad ... speed reading ... oops
-
That meaningless statement from the unnamed, anonymous Chinese spokesperson If I want to know what to expect from the CN - USA trade negotiations, before they happen, I'll ask my dog, as surely the info will be just as accurate.

If married to a Thai, they might, but as stated, where does it suggest she is not Thai. Why should foreigner be treated for free in TH ?
-
Make sure (if not used yet) that she is registered on govt healthcare scheme, and residence is listed to use facilities near by.
-
How is it 'already getting ugly', when negotiation of any trade deal hasn't even started, per NYT link above OP's link is nothing more than Op-ed that states nothing of substance, no real source of info. I don't see any protest, just people standing around or working. No dating of even those depictions.

Why are you still in Thailand, not in Vietnam?

Can own with long term visa, which I would have no desire to qualify for, as I would need to either ... ... work ... support citizen ... invest large sum So as stated, no retirement visa, no ownership of transport, except bicycle, means no desire to live illegally in Nam as many do, simply skirting the rules, as they do here, by using agents. NO THANKS -

Another plus for TH is the infrastructure, and all aspects of it. Watched a couple Paddy Doyle YT vids on Nam, lovely country, like TH, but infrastructure was a bit dismal at times. First couple days there, and he had to wait hours when a few main roads had to be cleared of landslides. Internet and electric service very iffy. I haven't got the patience to live anywhere less developed than TH.
