  1. Been riding motorcycles for over 40 yrs, all sizes, and I would not drive one in Bangkok...nuff said. Buy a car or learn the bus routes.
  2. I would think those w/neighborhood watch groups do have less crime. Though as shown, you are not going to stop nutters ... ever. So I don't know what your silly comment was for ... oh yea, to elicit a response. Was that good enough, tissues at the ready. You already should know I'm pro firearms. Any conversation about guns and or gun laws have been done to death. Have a nice day. R I P
  3. That would be enough bother for me to not even consider living in a province with such silliness. Even the witness thingy at PKK is silly redundant. As already been to the house, talked to neighbors. Witnessed gets asked question, maybe, first time, then signs a statement. My witnesses that I did use here, never met me before going to IO. Friends of wife. One she never met, as friend of her brother when using 😂
  4. Leases I had (3) were for short periods, then month to month afterwards, with cancellation allowed by both parties with 30 days notice. Good for you & landlord, and accepted at IOs that I used, Udon Thani & PKK when having. Never heard of the dated expiration date of lease being a requirement. Witness of course, at the discretion of IO. Not needed at Nong Khai, Udon Thani, when using, but required @ PKK.
  5. Seems to be yet another failed system check of laws (fed & state) already on the books. Oh well ... 🔫 Too bad an armed citizen hasn't taken him out yet. So much for lax law being of any help in this case, as you don't need a permit to carry in Maine, concealed or open. In Philly, he wouldn't make it halfway down the block without someone capping his A$$ 🤣
  6. A plus for me sort of, as only have 3 brothers still there, that I really didn't see much, when I did live there. Occasional holiday dinners, and can't even say on a yearly basis, and that's about it. Really led separate lives in different circles, when I was in the same area. They actually get together a lot now, monthly dinner or outings, since now in their 60s & 70s, something they never did before. Haven't seen any family (brothers) in over 20 yrs, except on FB. One is coming over next year, part of a SEA holiday, and probably last time I will see any of them again in person. On a tour, so I'll only even see him & wife, for 1 day, just hang out poolside, dinner & brekkie just before they fly back 🤣 Suck a close family 😂 Would imagine family keeps a lot of people in their birth country. Never had kids, until here, (1 adopted) and couldn't see leaving her to move out of country. Even though I only see her 10 ish times a year. She's only <4 hrs away, so a major plus. I've actually popped up to Krung Thep just to have dinner with her 😎
  7. Mayfield probably made more from the royalties than the original release. That's sad 😂
  8. 20+ yrs ago, you could find a decent house for $100k, now it's next to impossible, specially with a good school district, along with inflation and silly expensive healthcare, even if you have insurance or medicate. If moving & living there now, there wouldn't be much left for pocket money to enjoy life. Those already established, should be OK, but the youngins, it's a rough start. My nieces & nephews, and friends' children, luckily started 20 ish years ago, so all doing good and comfy life. Probably still the 'land of opportunity', but nothing like 20+ years ago.
  9. They should realize they make more money, if they restructure the loan to 20 or 15 yrs instead of just a onetime penalty, then no future interest earned for them.
  10. WTF FFS Again Why'd I bother Ignore list or not
  11. @jumbo Really going to depend on the financing she has now, and what is in that contract. Whether they recalculate or even refinance the remaining amount at different rate or time frame. Depending how much you contribute, it may give her enough equity to refinance with another bank if present one isn't open to restructure loan. She could then pay off present mortgage with new one, with better terms. Our daughter has the worse mortgage, at a good rate. Hook in the buyer with the lower rate, but if staying with same, mortgage is only 3 yrs, then she has to pay off or refinance, for another 30 yrs, if staying with same builder's financing. Means she'll pay a silly amount of interest and never own it in her lifetime 🤣 We're going to pay it off at the end of first 3 yr stretch, and she can pay the wife back over 15 years, saving half the interest and own in half the time, if she had a real 30 yr mortgage to begin with. Then rent will be all profit, instead of mortgage payment, as it's an investment property. For those that can't pay off early, simply paying additional principle every month, as daughter is also doiig, really drops the amount of interest the bank will get along with earlier pay off. Use this calculator to see the advantage: https://www.mortgagecalculator.org/calculators/what-if-i-pay-more-calculator.php#top Never get a 30 yr mortgage or one that won't let you pay additional principle monthly or pay off early without penalty.
  12. Well that didn't take long 🙄 THANKS to those that replied to OP.
  13. That was your 'quote' in OP. I've felt more at home here, than anywhere. When in USA, I moved around a bit, for work. Never really in 1 house for more than 3 years there. Every house here/TH, (2) has been longer, and not going anywhere soon from present house.
  14. Went back in 2003, for a couple months, caring for mother as she made the transition to then next dimension. Then in 2006 for a long weekend, for legal business, and couldn't wait to leave. Really felt like a visitor and not home at all. Would have been 1 day, if I didn't have to stay over a Friday for the excursion fare discount 🤣 as only 'needed' to be there on Monday. Flew in Thurs. left Tues.
  15. General resources ... really Must have missed a few passages while reading: "The blockade has devastated Gaza's economy and caused a nearly 50% poverty rate[18] and one of the highest unemployment rates in the world. Living conditions in Gaza have led human rights organizations to continue to label it "an open-air prison" "Characterization as open-air prison Several rights groups have characterized the situation in Gaza as an "open-air prison", including the United Nations,[199] Human Rights Watch, and the Norwegian Refugee Council. This characterizations was often cited by a number of human rights activists, politicians, and media news outlets reporting on the Gaza-Israel conflict and the wider Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Former British Prime Minister David Cameron,[207] US Senator Bernie Sanders,[208] former Israeli diplomat Gideon Levy, and Israeli historian Ilan Pappe have endorsed this characterization as well. In 2022, Human Rights Watch issued a report on the situation in the Gaza Strip, which it called an "open-air prison" due to the blockade and held Israel responsible as the occupying power, and to a lesser degree Egypt, which has restricted movement of Palestinians through its border. The report highlighted how this blockade has led to humanitarian crises, namely shortages of essential supplies, limited access to healthcare, and high levels of poverty and unemployment among the Palestinian population in Gaza."
  16. Continuing with silly topics, as just saw a post, 'When I move it's back home.' If you live here in TH, where do you consider home. Me, it's PKK, TH. When O&A, and folks ask, 'Where you from?" I say 'Prachuap'. This is home, where I've been 23+ yrs, almost as many as my adult life in birth oountry/USA. I don't consider that country/USA home, and if I left here, doubt if I'd return there to live. Maybe a long 1 year visit, check out all the National Parks, but that's it. I've owned just as many houses (w/wife) here as USA, and bought 5X as many new cars here, more MBs, and actually accrued as much money, or more, I think, as my salaried jobs in USA, which isn't a good thing, when I think about it. Only shows how little my jobs provided 😂😭 So where's home ?
  17. @Morch @scottiejohn Y'all apparently have no idea what has been going on since 1949, and how the Palestinians have had to live with their lives controlled by Israel. Enjoy your blissful ignorance ... 😎 READ THIS
  18. I don't trust anyone's #s, least so anything Israel would state. 2000-1000-500 ... what's the acceptable # of innocent children killed for you? Or how many more? Just think, a simple agreed upon cease fire would put that number closer to something acceptable to me. Like -0- ... But hey, that's just me.
  19. So many more innocent children to be killed ... why have a ceasefire ... 😡 2,000 children killed in Gaza, aid group says, as tempers flare at UN amid ceasefire calls source
