1. Wife bought eggs the other day, 10 for 50 baht, so 5 baht each, and they were small. I use to by 3 for 5 baht 20 yrs ago 😂😪
2. Yep ... attach to your belt and or throw the cord over your shoulder, and if have a button down shirt, can actually weave through those, so it stays in place. Sending though t-shirt never seemed to work well.
3. About the same, now 80-100k a month income, and 23 yrs ago, about 15k a month. Still owned car, house scooter. Biggest bill, petrol & electric, and probably ate out 2 meals a day, w/beer sipping. Still more than needed back then. Today, complete reversal of lifestyle. Eat in and little to no alcohol. Still plenty of O&A's though, so petrol was a big bill, if not the largest at times, with daily school runs, or 65-75 kms a day, since always living out of town. Since there, in town during school run, would eat in town during. Then O&A exploring 2-3 months a year during school breaks. About 15 years of, till wee one off to Uni.
4. Anyone actually sample 'beyond burger'? I personally don't see the point myself, especially if using the stuff, for a 'burger', as the beef burger itself, isn't exactly the most unhealthy part of the 'burger. Many would say the roll, cheese & condiments are far unhealthier. If it's a humane thing, hell, just make a veggie burger (roasted shrooms, eggplant, onion, peppers ... etc) or sandwich & enjoy. Done that more than few times, if wanting protein, add an egg.
5. Why we now have 100 tw lot for the house, most taken up by the house & carport. No need for groundskeeper 1 or 2 day a week. Use to take me 2 days to cut the grass during rainy season, a couple hours a day. It was too much, and seemed like living for house at times 😂
6. First 2 apply to majority of people, though for me, ignorance, sometimes excusable would fall between those two. 1- arrogance 2- ignorance 3- false sense of superiority
7. Pretty sure that's more than we 'need' to spend, when home. Many months don't spend that much. BUT ... we own house, car & scooter, have solar, so 3 of the biggest monthly bills for us don't exist. Internet ... < 1400 electric if any ... < 200 water .. < 200 car ins ... < 1000 healthcare ,,. < 2000 ... ball park average w/full check up yearly Food ... < 15k, probably 10k ish, that eating good, 90% at home
8. Gaza: UN experts decry bombing of hospitals and schools as crimes against humanity, call for prevention of genocide GENEVA (19 October 2023) – UN experts* today expressed outrage against the deadly strike at Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, which killed more than 470 civilians on Tuesday (17) and trapped hundreds under the rubble. The strike reportedly followed two warnings issued by Israel that an attack on the hospital was imminent if people inside were not evacuated. “The strike against Al Ahli Arab Hospital is an atrocity. We are equally outraged by the deadly strike on the same day on an UNRWA school located in Al Maghazi refugee camp that sheltered some 4000 displaced people, as well as two densely populated refugee camps,” the experts said" source: UN Office of the High Commission for Human Rights
9. I think the same thing about Christians, Muslims, Hindus & Buddhist ... 😂
10. Raëlism for me, the sexual freedom religion ... ... get your FREAK on ... Google is your friend... "Raëlism wiki"... should work
11. If wanting to sample, many restaurants offer it now, location dependent, as saw it on a menu the other day.
12. That's what headlights are for, and driving at the proper speed for conditions, which doesn't seem to be the case.
13. Fly to a tropical country and expect it not to be hot ... hmm Unless higher temp than outside ambient temp... ... STFU When did 26C/75F become hot. Wait till it's 35C feels like 45C
14. That would require a forum with intelligent & well mannered/respectful members. Best to look elsewhere 😎
15. Mind boggling. I just hope all references to other religions are removed also. I even posted a link explaining & showing what it was. I think I'm done here. PEACE OUT
16. ... nuff said I didn't alter anything. Read the link above. And no, that would be arrogant, not ignorant. Not understanding, knowing the symbol, and replying would be ignorant ... ... and I'm being very kind.
17. If that's what you see, then I don't think the symbol is the problem. Unless it's on a 45° angle and hanging on a red banner, then has squat to do with Nazism. Same as used in other religions. Just because some nutter used for a short while ... doesn't make it a bad thing. religions:
18. That's a really sad list, and a lot of stuff missing. More stuff missing than some of the really stupid stuff that's on it. A building, a bar, abandoned buildings, a traffic light. Seriously .... I did see 38 of those listed, and no desire to see most of the rest. Probably missing at least 10-20 I think would be more important. So much is missing it's mind boggling. That list is a joke. PhimMai Hist Park isn't even on the list, or Ban Chiang Archaeological Park https://photos.google.com/albums 38 of that crap list, and surely you can do better than that. Did you visit any of them?
19. That's going to depend on the IO in that Imm office. As my first year on retirement from marriage, my first 2 months didn't have 65k (Nov/Dec). But since a retirement, and for the year onward, after that 5+% COLA, with better exchange rate, the ttl year was over 900k, I think, and they get to use their discretion. Marriage visa, and NO, that wouldn't work, as they wouldn't even send that to BKK. With new 3.2% COLA, (2024), I think I'm shy of or just over 1M now. Hua Hin office pretty good, as remember one year, on marriage, I screwed something up and the deposits didn't show right, and just gave me a 30 day extension, and told my to stick 400k in bank, and he sent paperwork away, dated after the deposit, and approved 30 days later. Even met me on a Sunday at his house/Imm office. They have a lot of flexibility, IF, they like you. Didn't want a tip or bottle of JW, just a couple of straight up nice guys that office. Since I live 100 kms away from Imm office, it comes in handy, as bank screwed up one time, and gave me the wrong 'credit advice' from a different account (not mine), and he just told them to fax/send it to him. Instead of 'go get & return tmr' 👍 I've also been here 23 yrs and good little boy.
20. Yes, mind boggling what people suggest. I try to move forward & up in life, not backward or less secure.
21. Makita brand, about 15 yrs old and still going strong. Idle for couple years, and started using again (1yr), limited use. Heavy use when in Udon Thani, as having a hedge wall+ around 2 rai lot.
22. Doesn't help if you don't have a Vietnamese DL ... "Foreign driver licenses, even when accompanied by an international driving permit, are not valid in Vietnam. Even though a driver’s license from an ASEAN country may be recognized in certain circumstances as valid in Vietnam, it is still advised to obtain a local Vietnamese driver’s license if you wish to drive legally in Vietnam."
