What's behind the current THB strength?
KhunLA replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I never think it's about THB strength, and more about other currencies weakening. Can only speak about the USD, and govt keeps printing money and accumulating more debt. That certainly has to lower the value of the USD. -
From a different EV thread, but more appropriate to those interested about the availability of CS in TH. https://aseannow.com/topic/1257405-electric-vehicles-in-thailand/page/258/#comment-19115356

Yea, we get out and about a wee bit. Coming up on 2 years (Oct) of owning our MG ZS. These are our O&A so far. Yet to have an issue finding and charging while out. Surprisingly, yet to need to Q up at a charger. Pulled in once, and both slots were taken, but by the time we peeked at app to find the next, one slot opened up. We just got back from Rangsit, to visit daughter, and Ratchaburi, this past 3 day weekend, traveling both Sat & Mon, and surprisingly, no Qs at CS. We live about 1.5 hrs south of Hua Hin, just outside PKK municipality. Hence the amount of 'local' exploring along the immediate area/gulf coast. No need to hotel or CS, if round trip less than 250-300 kms. Which easily gets us to Hua Hin and back. Or the top of Chumphon province. First year owning, put on just shy of 20k kms, with 11k of those, I think, away from the house, requiring charging stations. Last 9 months, and more than half were put on away from the house, though only drove about 12k kms so far. Also have an E-MC, coming up on 3 years now, and that's got about 6800 kms on it, mostly short trips around town. Daily park & surf runs with the dog, weather permitting. They are only 8-15 kms. Google timeline keeps track of our journeys, or used to. I had to add 2 dots to Ratchaburi area, as no longer can pull up a 'yearly' map.

Keep printing money and assuming debt and your money value goes down. Don't know about bombing. For USD, that would be <฿30 / $1, last seen Jan 2021 For GBP, maybe around the ฿38, last seen Jan 2020, or ฿39, just back at Jan 2023. Bit of a roller coaster. GBP been pretty comfy ฿40-45 the past 4 ish years. Wouldn't expect it to go lower or higher. Anything higher, simply enjoy while it last. Same with USD, seems happy ฿30-35. Higher is always nice, but usually doesn't last long.

Unless of course, the VPN is operated by NSA, CIA, MI5/6, Interpol or who knows by. 2024 ... there is NO privacy Unless you drive an older ICEV, don't use a phone and or internet. And pay with cash.
-
And here I thought this topic was about EVs. Will these ICE be put in hybrids ?

Very nice ... Wish something like that was available when we were installing solar at the house. Especially an ES model, as not been released that long ago. That one really cheap price for 51kWh of ESS. A lot less than our 20kWh of ESS 👍👍

Close enough, but here, Makro/ARO eggs ... #1 / 150 baht, #0 / 163 baht @ Hua Hin & PKK (municipality), as of yesterday. Possibly a different supplier

Permanent Sharpee black maker ... solved. -
It would be funny as all hell if they picked someone else. Although she would really have to stumble pretty far before the DNC. She's the MSM darling at the moment, and probably should be happy no debate before the DNC. They / DNC really don't have anyone to pull out of the hat at this late in the game, with the name recognition, or the progressiveness of many thinking a mixed raced woman as President, would be so cool, no matter her past failings & record.
-
Apparently you have the reading comprehension problem, not myself. Why debate with someone who is not the official Dem candidate. Did that once already, and his time could have been spent elsewhere. Just utilizing and managing his time responsibly. What you want in a President. Debates use to happen, after the candidate were appointed. I guess this is why.

Men dominating 'Women's Sports @ Paris Olympics'
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Political Soapbox
Pretty sure the men competing in women's sports will dominate, most if not all that they are allowed to compete in. Any sport based on strength or endurance. No sense in really watching women's sports with men competing, or women even competing against them. As long as they keep allowing men in, women's sport is pretty much dead. Not seeing the headlines of women in men's sports .... go figure -
I go with 6L per bag ... 835gr / 165gr ratio. Rich & Creamy Yes, a bit cheaper if getting a box of 12 bags online, as local price is silly here per bag (Dairy Rich). ฿2699+170 = ฿2869 ÷ 12 ÷ 6 = ฿39.83 / Liter

One Indian to another ... "Ramaswamy recalled that Kamala Harris leaned onto her Indian American identity when she ran for office in California and added that she wears a different identity when it is politically convenient on a national stage." ""She leaned into it when she ran for office in California, big Asian American and Indian American population. So, she wore that when it was convenient. She's wearing a different identity now when it's politically convenient on a national stage," he added." Only if forced by law. Or if I can't get away with it. Ex: USA, I never had car insurance. Never had health ins., except 1 regrettable year here/TH. Never had in USA. Wil never have home owners insurance here/TH If not for the nutters wanting to commit suicide here, I wouldn't have car ins. Saying that, I did have an oops, my fault, and damn expensive repair, which pretty much cost as much as all the car insurance I've paid here. So that was a wash, and guess that counts as a savings plan Insurance companies make their profits from 'doom & gloom' what if scenarios, that most simply never happen.

China Vows to Aid Thailand in Tackling Shady Businesses

Well done, and a work in progress ... ... just, could you speed things up a bit Appears that lots of hand holding is needed, as it seems many don't believe in ... 'better research = better shopping experience" -
Why is it important to get colorectal cancer screening?
KhunLA replied to CharlieH's topic in Health and Medicine
Assuming the title is a rhetorical statement ... Get it done as early as you please, especially if your insurance will cover 100% of cost. Don't assume that minor trace of blood is from your hemorrhoids I had full coverage in USA, so early 40s had it done, knowing I was going to retire early. Saying colon cancer runs in the family, and you noticed blood in you BM will get the procedure done for you. Had it done here/TH also, about 5 yrs ago, (65 yrs old ?) and 2 polyps removed. Memory serves, about ฿12k, and same for endoscopy done at same time, just for the hell of it. Latter did find a Hiatal hernia, which I passed on simple repair. Explained those 'GERD' symptoms, and simply adjusting diet and sleeping position 'cured' them. Just for the hell of it, if you are not in TH yet, I compared average price of, at Philadelphia area, PA, USA. $1400 mark or ฿50k -

Men dominating 'Women's Sports @ Paris Olympics'
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Political Soapbox
Just saw a blip of some dude boxing a chick. After 45 seconds, she said screw this. RTnews, so I can't post it. Imagine working your whole life to go to the Olympics, and you have to box some dude ... WTF She even pulled her arm away, at the end, when they raised his as winner. Good for her. MSM will probably bury it for as long as they can. From X, I think that's allowed: -
