  1. Fear mongering of the next WW (3-4-5) that will never happen. Next one, if ever, will be the last one. MSM programming/brainwashing is working to perfection. Hard to believe people still fall for it. The rich get richer, and zombies get poorer ????
  2. Batteries are indoors, in AC comfort ???? Treat my toys good, and they treat me good.
  3. ฿1M a year (not needed) for 20 yrs and he's 80+yrs old. Could easily live on half that. Barring stupidity or major health issue. Keep 3M or more as an oops fund, and should be fine.
  4. All I know is, when needed, our inverter puts out max 8.8kWh If & when needed, on hot, sunny days ???? (18 X 540w = 9.72kW) https://www.suntech-power.com/wp-content/uploads/download/product-specification/EN_Ultra_V_STP550S_C72_Pmh+.pdf
  5. They don't charge any fee. Only if use out of province, though TBH, not sure they even do that any more. The fee you are hearing about, 220 baht, is if using an international CC/debit card at their ATMs.
  6. No complaints from me, not 40/1 yet, but beats the hell out of 30/1:
  7. Yes, I've tried a wide range of instant coffee, and none compare to fresh brewed. Some are drinkable, but I wouldn't call them coffee. Prefer Moccona Espresso, as a desert 'Cappuccino', considering it's a 3/1, and who added sugar & creamer to their Espresso. Buddy Dean & Super are OK also, but don't call the coffee. Nescafe ... all versions, is just vile. Never had their pods, but if they can't get the instant right, I'm not up for experimenting.
  8. Ours are efficient till 42 ish C and temp rarely hits 40C here:
  9. Isan is a big place and many factors would affect anyone's smile. Also that person's lifestyle if chosen or not, for what ever reason. If living in one of the cities, without transport or extra pocket money, then not the best place to be. Though most places wouldn't be, worldwide. Unless happy to sit on the barstool all day, then any place is heaven. Just outside the main, enjoying both worlds, tranquil countryside, with all the comforts of nearby city, <30 mins away, works for many. Did for me, only 20 mins away, and was quite tolerable, and a love/hate relationship, as I get bored easily. So need transport to explore, locally and points further. A hobby, or friends, or simply some responsibilities/routine (school runs) help, with things to do. One thing I couldn't deal with, and had little control over was the air pollution, and 4-6 months a year, it was bad @ Udon Thani. I could see the hills of 10 kms away from 2nd floor of house only half the year. Same if at top level parking @ Central Plaza, and nothing but a grey fog half the year. AQI #s of 100+, damn annoying, besides not the healthiest. Indoors, no prob, with purifiers, but boring. Landscape wise, it is a flat plateau, so unless living on the edge, not much to look at. Either lovely green fields of rice or sugar, half the year, or a dust bowl the other half. As always ... Rainy Season Rocks
  10. Stated more than a few times, I would cut all foreign aid, and bring all military back to US soil & waters. Stop playing world police force & corporate security. Billion $$$ can pay for their own security. 31+ Trillion $$$ debt, can't pay own bills, and giving sh!t away. Can't fix stupid
  11. Various news reports, and simple common sense. The Pentagon can't even keep track of in house finances,(trillions of $$$ unaccounted for) let alone foreign gifts. To think otherwise is ignorant. These are IMHO from my reading. Feel free to research Ms Google. You'll find more than you want.
  12. As if fossil fuel conglomerates didn't have windfall profits of late. They get huge subsidies: "Globally, fossil fuel subsidies were $7 trillion in 2022 or 7.1 percent of GDP' Source: IMF Fossil Fuel Subsidies Data: 2023 Update And they'll (corrupt govts) will tell you your tax $$$ are going toward slowing or solving MMCC/GW ... ???? Reads more like they are perpetuating it.
  13. Yank bashing ... great Though you might want to actually state some facts. Factor in the kids, and those numbers drop quite a bit.
  14. NK definitely one of the better choice in Isan to retire.
  15. Trustworthy ... Hell No First GOD give you cancer, you pray to get rid of it, GOD comes through and you're clear of it, then gives it to you again. GOD's a prick with no sense of humor.
  16. Since no real accounting, oversight to where that 6 billion is going, it is a bit silly. Too many veterans & homeless need more than they are getting now, before spending USA tax dollars overseas.
  17. Time to think about renewing EV car insurance. (expires 30 Oct) Got a quote from cousin, ฿22+k, for wrong model (X vs our D), and 10M coverage. Write off value ฿900k Need to ask present carrier, but I think quoted 10.8k back in May (or typo on previous post), May ? a bit early, And stopped them there, as too early to think about. So didn't ask specs of policy. Will probably go with Roojai. Write off value ฿840k. Highest (our fault) deductible of 5k, knocked ฿1400+ off the price, and 1M per person. Repair @ MG or contracted shop. Considering nobody has hit me in over 20+ years, and anything else has been minor dings (my fault), almost not worth putting on insurance, but back then, claims didn't matter. Nobody locally drives fast enough to do much damage to the car, especially to the battery pack. If we keep with 1/3 driving on highways, doubtful, then even safer, as rarely cross traffic. Only danger spot locally is crossing Hwy #4/Phetkasem Rd, and that's at a traffic signal. I drive the speed limit, with extreme Spidey senses engaged. Don't drive in Krung Thep when there.
  18. Will probably stay 'undiscovered' for quite some time, as you have to self entertain once there, like most of TH. No adult nightlife catering to international travelers of course. Quite like NST, and just came back last week from there. Have a nice coastal road with viewpoints along the Gulf. But it's still the Gulf, and more often than not, good for only looking at, not swimming in. KiriWong is nice streamside village in the hills. and downtown isn't too hectic, during the week, with plenty of good food. Special trip, nah really, but if in the neighborhood, or making a loop out of it, definitely worth popping in.
  19. That post is over 2 yrs old, and that member hasn't been active for over 1 year.
  20. 'legal guardian' ... which would be the parents of, till age 20. The 20 yr can be the guardian, IF, mother, assuming ex, allows it, and would image that needs to be done with judication, or what ever they do here/TH. So back to square 1 with the 17 yr old. How many houses do you plan on buying ???? You could buy 2 in the 20 yr old's name, and then transfer one to the 17 yr old, when reaching 20 yrs old. Or simply rent, or buy a condo. Far safer since you actually have to ask. Good Luck.
  21. The 20 yr old ... yes, as considered an adult, and signature is legally binding. 17 yr old would still need a guardian for contracts ... I think.
  22. STOP THE PRESSES ... ... damn, no scandal. I weighed and had to drink all the beer in the house last night. I think the 10th one was 1 gram off. Moving on ... ????
  23. Just poor/weigh 620ml of water into your measuring vessel, take note of the level, while on the scale, then simple do the same with a beer. See what level it comes up to. It should match same level and weight, or damn close. Geez people, we're not talking high volumes/weight here, Temp/RH density or SG isn't going to be that much on such a small amount.
