  1. I've always been on off hours person. Only had 1 job that I actually used public trans to/from the city (Philly, USA), and was a bit eye opening. Longest job with airlines, 13+ years, had shift start times at 0600, 1430, 2200 hrs. When working 1st shift, done, home, showered & out the door, on the train to Philly for 'happy hours' when everyone that got off early, were going in the other direction. If not meeting up, then catch the train home well after rush hour. Schedule like that could turn you into an alky, as I did a pub crawl on a weekly basis ???? Free food & half price beers on Wed/Thurs/Fridays. Actually miss that, as some of my best times knocking around the city. The one bar in Nana Plaza use to have a 2 for 1 happy hour, which I popped in to more than few times, while GF at the time went shopping mid afternoon.
  2. Must be based on the silly retail prices they charge. Probably already ate $1k worth. Is it just a coincidence, ganga treats are available, and there are now milk shortages being reported ...
  3. EV Hell ... ???? I wouldn't drive a ICEV through that, unless you know your wheel bearings are sealed. Made that mistake before and had to replace them all.
  4. Stop giving billions away to foreign countries if you can't feed your own at home.. Do you give money to people you don't know, when you can't afford to feed your own family. Common sense would be ... ????
  5. So they were hoping they could continue to break the law ... hmm And 2.6% of 33% of the FL population is almost 200k people, not working ... hmm (I figure 1/3 too young to work, the other 1/3 to old)
  6. 1 man can do all that ... ???? And yet he was already President for 4 years, and we're all still here...go figure. Trump wants the govt to do what is expect of all of us to do, live within our means, and don't spend more than we have. Call me crazy, but sounds like common sense to me.
  7. Not the Floridians who want & need a job, at a decent wage. It's nothing but a DeSantis hit piece, and vague attempt to justify illegal immigrants and the employer who hire them. From a writer who's claim to fame is a Pulitzer, from coverage when the FL/USA tried to take a kid away from his Cuban father, and failed miserably.
  8. BRICS+Saudi Arabia will account for 3.33 billion, of the 8 billion world population. China, the largest manufacturing country in the world, with many countries depending on their products, to produce their own country's products. India & China, alone or together, are the largest consuming countries of the world, of most things, simply due to their need & population. Brazil, one of the few counties that is energy independent. While others let big oil conglomerates control their future & economies. To not realize that, simply shows total ignorance. Waving your nationalistic flag doesn't not change the fact, the west is in a downward spiral, and losing more & more of everything, everyday.
  9. Hmm ... ... the law makes it hard for criminal to live in the state ... the law makes employers offer a decent wage to those law abiding USA citizens that need, want to work at a fair salary. Law was passed by and for USA citizens of FL for 'their' protection. Maybe we should ignore all the gun & drug laws. Oh wait, I think many states have, and how has that turned out? Maybe FL can lower the price of goods stolen to be considered a felony, down to a misdemeanor. How's that worked out California and other states? If you don't want to enforce the laws, don't make them or repeal them. Apparently those that care & vote, like it just the way it is. If you don't live in FL, why do you care?
  10. Yea ... what they said. Thankfully I rolled the dice, as I was quite skeptical myself, especially since just buying an ICEV we really liked, a mere 18 months earlier. Would never consider an ICEV again. All you skeptics out there, really need to hire/rent one a week. Take a few local O&As, nothing requiring CS, all within about 250 kms R/T. On some nice roads. Pretty sure you'll be converted to the EV cult ????
  11. Would be hard to turn down $1M , especially when you're 71 and no longer on A list to be called. Who would turn down that kind of money if offered, and wanting to work, or simply wanting new toys, or to give it away to needy. Who knows what he does with his money. Excellent career and part of some amazing movies and box office earnings. Lately, good for time killing, and better than a lot of the other crap offered up.
  12. That's definitely not guaranteed. Ones I've seen in 'fresh markets' look a bit sad. Don't think I've ever bought them any place else other than Makro, and even there, the selection can be not up to par at times. Very nice today though ????
  13. Very little variety (almost none) for potatoes here. Only 2 I've seen: ... local ... import from China ????
  14. Thanks for that, as see why you like. Just registered myself. Like the ability to unplug before paying, with 3 payment options. If in Ranong area ... this stop was great, while using Elex, decent pastry & coffee, though ice cream/sorbet section sucked. Manason Cafe
  15. I don't have any either. Sitting in a bar, never really interested me, at any age. I'm never that bored. Surely not while in the tropics.
  16. 69 come end of Dec, but my SS & pension is below the taxable income level. Sold all RE a couple years before coming here/TH. Wrote my last check to IRS in 2009, I think, (damn $70+k), after selling my last stock holding. 14 years, I think, and no more checks to IRS. Out of rental, out of the market, move to TH, Oct 2000, stopped salaried job in March 2001, so don't generate any income.
  17. OH CRAP ... EV BATTERY DEGREGATION ???? About 35 days a way from full 1 year of ownership of our MG ZS EV. Notice on full charge now, display showing 359 kms available vs 360 kms, originally displayed in 'ECO' mode. 360 kms is actually pretty close to what we actually get, mixed driving locally. Quick calculation, and that's a 0.27777777777778 % of battery degradation ???? Times that by the 8 year warranty period, and we expect less than a 3 % degradation (2.22%). Probably less, as this year, as about 1/3 of our charging has been 'fast charging' at CS while O&A. 5-6k kms of our present 18k kms on the clock. That will surely decrease substantially over the next 8 year. As our O&A will, along with need of fast charging. So that will probably be the most negative degradation to expect. Not scientific, or calibrated with a capacity test/meter, but ball park enough for me ???? And about as 'real life' as you can get. Quite happy with that estimate ???? (Same 1 km off, the NEDC rating of 403, now shows 402 kms, at full charge, (on different screen readout) but that's not a real life situation in my world)
  18. @Burma Bill photo above from Makro
  19. Good reason not to shop at Tops, which we rarely do, (when anywhere, as don't have locally), as I've yet to pay more than 42 baht a kg @ Makro. Usually 39 baht. We don't bother with our local Lotus's here either, as usually more expensive than Makro.
