  1. If you didn't know who she was, or the job she is seeking, then watching that, you might think she was speaking to an elementary class (1-6 grade) on a school trip. Hopefully talking down so not to confuse the wee ones, instead of just being the confusing word salad speaker that she is. Hard to believe she even understands what she is trying to convey. BUT ... she is up for leader of what some consider the most powerful & influential country on the planet, and to be honest, that's just plain scary. OK, we all know she / they are, most of them, are just a puppet, but just think if she would actually have to make a decision. I wouldn't want her thinking & acting on my behalf.
  2. expressing & being allowed to ... a bit of a difference. I'm sure my opinion would have been deleted. Took notice of the 19k myself, just the other day, but most of those are silly, useless replies to replies such as your. Trying to avoid doing that ... a work in progress.
  3. Too funny ....
  4. Sort of political, as talks about how CH is doing it so much better & less expensive @18:20
  5. ... what debate Need unbias moderators for that ... good luck. Harris has been the candidate for over 30 days, and yet to do 1 press interview ... nuff said
  6. Western countries that spy on their citizens, listen to the phone calls, read their emails, and all the social media. Track every aspect of their lives. And people are concerned that CH might start doing the same thing ...
  7. Tells you everything one needs to know. If you can't complete, shut the competition out. Screw the consumer, why should they have the best product for the best price
  8. Kind of like the very streamlined look of EV. Though all a bit similar looking, which really can't be helped if going for aerodynamics / less resistance. Have noticed some of the ICEVs lately, trying to get noticed with their 'unique styling' ... yikes.
  9. Didn't notice that, as saw the last comment, and thought might be an interesting thread, so read the OP ... oops note to self ... check the freaking dates next time
  10. Been reading the same thing for 24 years ...
  11. Want to lead with that next time, so I don't waste my time reading the 'pre amble' to yet another P4P thread.
  12. So you'll be throwing all you electronics away that have batteries. My BEV doesn't use cobalt, so I'll keep it. Old tech batteries are only bad for the planet if used in EVs. Fine for anything that you use
  13. Turning into a banana republic ... kill or jail the opposition. Shameful Love it or Leave it ... ... never mind, did that a couple decades ago
  14. Why I suggested renting for year in any complex one is thinking about buying in. Even though I was very familiar with PKK, we rented here for 1.5 years before deciding to build on the land we had for years. Knowing this will probably be our final move. Long term decisions take long term thought & research.
  15. Keep the division going ... IGNORANCE IS BLISS
  16. Great, another anti RU thread. Topic could be "Man arrested for fake money" Not sure I'm allowed to express my opinion about spreading hate, so I'll stop here Can't say I've seen or read a positive thread on AN about RU or CH, even most about TH is negative. Let that sink in
  17. German isn't the spoken language of the EU, there's that to be grateful for.
  18. So do chocolate people 😎 On topic ... I avoid putting chemicals on my skin, as no different than drinking it. It all gets absorbed into you body & blood system.
  19. Have family here, and I know I'm not going anywhere outside of TH. Buying makes sense. One size doesn't fit all. Could always sell up for a profit, and leave anytime if wanting, just no desire to. Research when buying helps avoid unwanted neighbors in the future, that's worldwide. I like rural, so takes a bit more research. If a developed area, then you already know who or what your neighbors are. I single and 45 again, and just arriving, I'd be renting also. Though I did buy in as soon as I got here, but with pocket change. Equivalent to renting after few years. OP has been here for 10 ish years already, and seem to be staying, so buying makes sense.
  20. I had a couple Thai docs tell me not to bother when I asked. Living in Udon Thani and spending plenty of time along the Mekong (Chiang Khan to Mukdahan) with every 90 days popping over to Laos, for about 10 years, at least. UP2U ... personally haven't and wouldn't bother.
  21. Expand your mind ... You need to get some culture ... google "M. C. Escher" I always found LSD helped with that
  22. I really don't get the hybrid (redundant engine) thingy. Unless a PHEV, with good size battery, so you can do all you local driving on electric. Then just having an ICE just for O&A seems a bit daft .. IMHO Along with the extra costs for the extra ICE Spend the extra for the largest battery BEV, if wanting more range.
  23. We're done shopping for the month, and with add on, went about 300 baht over 15k. Considering what's left, half the protein from 1st shopping, along with things we won't finish next or eve 2 months away. Stayed within 15k easily. As stated, only possible because we owned up, no rent, electric or petrol bills. If not owning everything, especially if single, would easily be a 70-100k a month budget needed to enjoy same lifestyle. ENJOY what and where ever your travels take you.
