  1. That's why he/she/it is on my ignore list ... ... EV troll ... ???? That's just sad ????
  2. "Anybody know if plans for superchargers up and down the country?" Yes, plans already been reported. "Tesla will also be opening its first supercharger by Q1 of 2023" https://www.prestigeonline.com/th/pursuits/motors/tesla-has-officially-launched-in-thailand/ Nice addition to all the under used Charging Stations now. Hopefully Tesla will encourage more to shop for EVs. 1.6 mill may be a stretch for some, but luckily a few priced less than 1 million baht already. With more available next year. Maybe in a few years, there will actually be enough EVs on the road to actually start using all the empty Charging Stations available now. Not that I'm in a hurry to have that happen. We did a few short trip and used about 7 CSs already, and yet to see another vehicle at them. Quite the pleasant experience and by the time we're done stretching our legs, lite munch and a look around, the car is topped up. Not much difference time wise when out & about with the ICEs before having the EV. The short breaks are nice when on the road.
  3. better to ignore & avoid any further contact or conversation with said person... ... move on, as nothing positive can come from it.
  4. For SIL ... it's a TM30 For lease, Imm doesn't care, or anyone else what rent you pay. Put in anything. As long as not 3 yrs or longer lease, nobody cares. My last lease was for 1 yr, then month to month. You'll need sis's Blue book if having (unfamiliar about condo), copies of, and copies of her ID, signed by her. All simple process. When filing the TM30, you moved in 'that' day. As suppose to be filed within 24 hrs.
  5. I really enjoy riding mine. 2000w should be nice and peppy. Top end nothing special, but more than ample for Thai roads and a relaxing drive. I'm on the search for better rear shocks, as Thai roads are brutally pot holed, and bounce you around no matter what scooter you're on. My Honda Wave 125i wasn't much better in that aspect. Aside from that, love the smooth, non shifting ride. With the 3000w, I'm usually in mode 1 till about 40 kph, or 50 if not paying attention, then mode 2. Rarely needing 3, as rare to exceed 60 kph. You'll be switching 1 to 2 at about 25-30 kph. Distance per charge, with good 20-30% reserve will be a bit less than their estimates, since test done as such slow speeds. I only put on about 12 kms a day, so can almost make 5 days without charging. Which I do at the low end of 3 bars and try not to go to 2 bars, if battery 'meter' hasn't changed. I've never needed or used the 'power' button, as has more than enough torque for quick starts. Just make sure you're in mode 1. ENJOY
  6. Depends ... if in 'my yard', or even in the area outside the wall, and I don't know what it is, chances are, it won't end well for the snake. My dog & wife are more important than an intruder in the yard. Of course if I know it's non venomous, I'll give it an escape route and shoo it along. Only 2 entry points to the property, which are sort of snake proof, aside from over the wall or dropping in, though not much of anything overhangs the walls. I have seen snakes scale straight up a wall, kind of surprising & amazing. Nothing is truly snake proof.
  7. Even pre-situation, it wasn't exactly a bustling town with 'expat' nightlife. Non expat 'nightlife' ... lakeside was always busy for food vendors & sipping. Though I haven't been in years, but would think this would be one area to open back up first, due to 'local's' demand. Check the Pullman's price, as we usually stayed there, being quite the bargain for the level of comfort. And very good brekkie buffet, if wanting. Not sure if anything new in the area, but I'd be surprised if anything surpasses it. Also had an OK brewery in the lobby area. Use to enjoy the 2 welcome drinks from there. Use to be a KK forum ... not sure if still in existence.
  8. Along with their relationship. How many accident reports of unmarried people killed in vehicle, simply state, 'passenger killed at scene, and driver died at hospital.' ages & 'his boyfriend' have to be the headliner ... ... why I wouldn't support such a rag.
  9. Defensive Driving 101 ... ... along with glancing in the rear view, JIC Also good to do at intersection/traffic lights you are stopped at. Along with never tailgate vehicle in front of you, JIC, you need to make a quick escape while waiting.
  10. Batteries don't have to be 20 yrs old to be tested how long they last. They test how many cycles they have, what the average use / yearly kms will be, and make a practical calculation. If my DECO SUSU battery gets 1500 cycles, and is rated at 120 kms per cycle, then theoretically, I should get 180k kms. 1 year owning, and I drove 3500 kms. That's my daily driving, say 200+ days a year. Gives my 51+ years of use. Do I expect, 1500 cycles, maybe, as I do baby it. Do I get 120 kms per charge, NO. 51 years ... doubtful, but I'd be more than pleased with just half that. Do the same for my solar system & EV, and both will probably out last myself for sure, and probably the wife. That's about 30 yrs, and might still have some juice left.
  11. 'dailymail' ... nuff said. Probably wouldn't even make the news without the age difference highlighted.
  12. mango & papaya comparison USA legal gun seller ... sells to legal citizen allowed to buy gun, used for defense, not offense.
  13. Complain that TH is not as cheap as the 5 year old blog or YT vid they based their holiday budget on. What, no beach bungalow for 200 baht, or filling meals for 30 baht ???? How come my photo doesn't look the same ????
  14. I just add them all to my ignore list. Unless quoted, I never see their silliness.
  15. Wow, 145mm, 14mm more than the Honda Accord ... ???? You better get on the Honda Accord sites and warn everyone ... ???? YES ... PURE SILLINESS ignored
  16. Yes, the King Cobra, will hold it's ground, especially if nesting, as one of the only snakes that hangs around with their eggs. Malayan pit viper may also hold its ground, and can be a bit aggressive. The rest, you'll probably see them only as they slither away. Since you're not food and much larger than them. Even the venomous snakes won't waste their venom many times when they strike, if not planning to eat you. Some valuable stuff they don't waste if not having to. For those that don't know, as Simon points out, snakes do NOT hear, and feel vibrations, so make your presence known that way. Cut corners wide so neither you nor snake is spooked, and always allow them an escape route. If I'm walking on an unclear path or through the brush, I carry a heavy staff, make my presence known, and swat any overhanging brush. Green pit vipers are almost impossible to see on the branches if not paying attention. Well camouflaged, same with Russel viper, Malayan viper in dry dusty & leaf ground coverings. If they feel comfortable with their camouflaged, they may not slither away so fast. I've had incidents with both.
  17. Price will usually dictate type of battery. Lithium powered usually 2X the Lead Acid offerings. Should be the very first question you ask when shopping. These are the usual lead acid batteries used in scooter & mobility scooters. They're inexpensive, to buy in, BUT, can only run down to 50%, and takes a few to replace a full bank, and lucky if they last a year or so, depending how kind you are to them, and use. IF having a lead acid battery on an already purchased scooter, then you can replace it with a Lithium. A few YTs showing how to.
  18. Ground clearance ... seriously, the new anti-EV'ers warning ???? MG ZS EV 161mm without psgrs Tesla Y 171mm w/psgrs Tesla 3 140mm w/psgrs Toyota Camry 160mm Honda Accord 131mm Simply more silliness from the anti-EV'ers.
  19. Finally Although the one I have, SUSU, is now ฿9,000 (82.9k vs 73.9k) ???? SUSU ... no gov't incentive, or missing from photo. Others, price increase, more to do with the market, as most other e-scooters are more expensive, so up 7-8-9k, then about 9-11k less off 'original/last year's price' with the govt incentive, so still nice pricing. AND ... they are registered / tagged. 1000w for less than 29k ... nice And 1000w models have removable batteries for condo/apartment dwellers. A few new prices, and couple new models. Last year's prices, w/new ones noted:
  20. Mine takes me from point A, to point B. It's a machine for my convenience, no more, no less. Pretty low on the list of things my life revolves around.
  21. Yes, but at least they admit you & save your life ... here, maybe not. They wanted payment in advance at the Govt hosp last month or so, or no admittance.
