  1. Jack of All, master of only my self employment: ... Chimney Sweep ... Truck driver ... Slum Lord ... Market Investor ... Firearms sales 30+ (going nowhere) salaried jobs with employers, with one exception, most lasting 1 to 3 months. A couple shy of 1 year. A few I actually enjoyed: Lithographic printing Photo/negative developing Baker
  2. The photo in OP is just one section of the beach at Hua Hin, and about 10%, if that. Cha Am is a different story though, as dominated by them. Locally / PKK / Ao Manao has a section also, but again, maybe 20% of the beach area. Also where all the vendors are.
  3. The amount of inflation in TH, compared to most other countries, very little, along with the minimum requirements for long term visa (40k/65k monthly), I can't believe anyone is struggling here. It would really take a major mis-management of your funds to end up at the end of the month, without enough. Especially if owning home and car, or don't even have a car and rent inexpensively, <10k a month.
  4. RU citizens are not the RU gov't/policy makers. Just like USA/NATO country citizens do not make govt policy. Should all the NATO member citizens been banned from travel or their possessions confiscated when they decided to invade & occupy Iraq & Afghan. for 10-15 year, with anywhere from 500k to 1+ million killed & millions displaced, depending what reports you believe. How many UN resolutions has Israel ignored, and their control over Palestine, and yet, they are free to do & go as they please The hypocrisy on this forum is mind boggling.
  5. Where does the lithium come from for your phone or laptop batteries, that you are on now. Along with all the materials, toxic chemicals used to produce microchips & processors. Where do think they come from and who's mining them. Not to mention the huge amount of energy and wasted water to manufacture them. Adding to all the water pollution while doing so. May want to look up the word hypocrite on your eco unfriendly device. Just a thought. Your ignorance is showing: "a battery with only a 5 to 10 year life" ... and yet, they, most EVs here, give an 8 yr warranty. I expect mine (EV/solar ESS) to last 10-20-30 years. You take care of them, they'll take care of you.
  6. I lived in Germantown TN, Outside Memphis TN, not the Philly neighborhood. Had to look on Gmap to refresh my memory where Philly Germantown even is. That's embarrassing. Don't think I ever made it there either, unless passing through. Been next door at Manayunk area, more than few times. As that area along the river went upscale, sort of like a South St vibe, but more relaxed, and much safer after dark, as South St is not safe/comfortable, after 'dark time' arrives, even with the huge police presence. Need to be out of that area by 8pm. Which I always was as last train out was 8:30pm, well after happy hour ???? Hope that wasn't too racist.
  7. E-Scooter/Motorcycle DECO brand, SUSU model: https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/susu 1 year & 3500 kms later, and all good. Had to replace a turning signal relay, sent out overnight to us. Under warranty, and we (wife) did the swap, as dealer is 75 kms away. Silly for him to come down, diagnosis it, then return to swap out the part. Just renewed registration: ... ฿50 baht tax ... ฿323 mandatory 3rd party insurance Now charge at home w/solar. Previously, PEA, and 0-100% cost <฿20 https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles
  8. Also just print off Gmap, from house to local Imm Office, which isn't even the one that I extend at ???? 12 kms away vs 95 kms away. You could print one off, then use tracing/thin paper to draw your own. Then make copies of that at shop.
  9. Not me, not now, but if you're paying ~$1 for an egg, you should be shopping at WalMart. When I lived in the Germantown, TN, USA area, I shopped at WalMart, as best priced store around. Also never saw anyone dressed like the meme s & silly photos people post of WalMart shoppers. Also didn't live in the slums of TN, or where ever, what slum area they would have been taken.
  10. Something I'd never do, rent a chair on any beach, to be surrounded by people. Besides ugly as hell, that can't be enjoyable.
  11. Had a couple double yolk'ers in this present tray I'm working my way through. Pleasant surprise, as only think I've had 2 total, prior to this tray of, the last 20 years. Maybe the few more over 70 gr will surprise me ????
  12. Another Thai & EV bashing thread ... great The Anti Thai, Anti EV sentiment along with total ignorance displayed in the thread is, well ... expected. Couple thoughts to enlighten; ... MG ZS battery size 50.3kW ... Thailand already has over 1000 CSs ... Along with Merc ... MG, GWM & Horizon all plan on building their EV in Thailand, in the very near future. The ones people are and will actually be buying, as very affordable, and priced the same as many ICEs. ... PTT's wholly owned subsidiary will be building the Horizons & batteries here, and, as sales promo, FREE CHARGING @ PTT stations. Which if you didn't know, is the 'state owned' oil producer. Wind of Change kids. You may want to pay attention.
  13. I'm skeptical of the news report ... ... grain driers do have a tendency to explode, and have made the news doing so. An explosion near border ... must be a RU missile ????

    Rainy season

Rainy season isn't quitting down here / PKK Sporadic & heavy at times. Not even suppose to be now, but don't tell the Rain GODs that, as it's heavy now:
  15. No, inflation doesn't concern, bother, worry me. As I've eliminated most monthly inflatable bills most are bothered with; rent, utilities, petrol. Take control, adapt & adjust ???? Got to love the forum though, as motivated me to go weigh my #0 eggs, and coming in between 68-76 grams "Years ago, one could buy a Jumbo egg with a dollar. But now, one can buy only a Peewee egg for a dollar." Where the hell do you shop ? What idiot pays $1 for an egg ? I get 30 #0s for ฿142 / $3.97 USD 1 egg ฿4.7 / $.13 cents You need to start shopping @ WalMart Egg ... $.30 cents
  16. Should have listened to you, and gave up half way through. Surprised I lasted that long.
  17. I need to be extremely bored to read a book, fiction anyway. Read maybe 3 books in Thailand. Almost all my book reading, and quite a lot was done at work. Going through 1 a week easily, and not all small paperbacks, 2-3-400 pages. Grisham, Crichton, Clancy. Most of my reading revolved around financials, markets & such.
  18. Your definition of close and mine differ greatly. 70 kms ???? Anything anti RU/Putin - Trump - TH - USA - EV - China - solar - batteries is all that matters ????
  19. Already had super yachts here, though what is the difference between 'damn expensive' & 'super'. Had one anchored off PKK for couple days to/from Hua Hin ... ... Thankfully, as Andrey restocked my Stoli, what a guy ???? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2143432/Russian-billionaires-bond-villain-300m-yacht-comes-mini-version-itself.html It can be a traffic jam out there some days: https://www.marinevesseltraffic.com/vessels/A/CURRENT-POSITION/1009340/538071242
  20. Just add him to your ignore / troll list. Seems he doesn't watch or read what he posts about.
  21. That's pretty much spot on. Graph below from above post. Recommend insulated block; Q / con / k block, or whatever name Also go with an insulated (thickest) BlueScope roof. Extended roofs for shading, with house position avoiding as much sun exposure as possible. Last 2 house used that thinking and turned out great, economical, and easy on the electric / AC bill. Do consider a solar system as well worth the extra investment.
  22. Agree, EVs definitely are not for everyone. Sidenote, I always have the AC on. So my reports will always have on, if I forget to mention. Finishing touches on the house, near done, so longer journeys coming up in near future. See how my impatient self deals with CS stops. I've done my Udon Thani to Phuket runs, in 1 go, or 1 to 3 pitstops. Now I think 3hrs on the road is enough, and since will be southbound, then that's actually when & where I play tourist, so not in a hurry to go anywhere far or fast. Different from when living in Udon Thani, as nothing I wanted to see between there & Krung Thep. Sometimes 1st pit stop as far as Hua Hin, or if made good time, and short break along the way, would even continue to Thung Wua Laem, Chumphon for first overnight, before heading out to Phuket. Them days way behind me. Being patient will be an adjustment, but an easy one. Especially if at MG CS, or having a food court munch at one of the PTTs. KFC and internet browse makes 30-45 minutes go be fast.
  23. Started with drip pot machine (Mr Coffee), then went to the plastic drip funnel w/filter over cup thingy, more for traveling. Now at house, have coffee machine, only advantage is crema. Have French Press, Moka pot, and now actually back to using drip funnel w/filter over coffee cup, though upgraded to Stainless Steel ???? Find it get the best results/control with the SS funnel over cup. On the Moka Pot, suggest you get a Stainless Steel one vs the aluminum one (having both), as the metallic taste, though slight, does come through.
