  1. If not four-wheel drive it's made for a paved road. It's called a family sedan for a reason. Even my MG SUV I wouldn't take off road, it's nothing but a family sedan & only has 17cm of clearance.
  2. Yet to understand financial motive to teach here. Where I come from, Philly, USA, teaching is one of the better paying jobs straight out of Uni, especially since only 9 month work year. Hindsight, think I would have went that route, IF pay was at that level in 1973. Then it was a terrible paying job, and people did it for the joy of it, and the results showed. My first 2 real jobs out of HS. Lithographic Printing & Steelworker, paid more than starting teacher salaries in 1973, and no degree needed.
  3. Not a fan of their price gouging, or rush to market of so many drugs that later were removed by FDA (176+and counting, I think), after the corrupt FDA (IMHO) approved them. Some of those just didn't sell, others killed so many people.
  4. Mine, and amazed no price increase along with better service.
  5. ... didn't deserve to live on the same planet as our children. Shame it didn't happen sooner, and spared the many lives he ruined peddling his poison.
  6. 15 yrs ago...same price and only 3 or 5 times a day.
  7. Beat me to it ... couple links may interest and the one YT'er does reviews for EcoFlow (US version), and quite good. Thought about them a couple times, but EV solved the need with V2L. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDj4izgxibE&ab_channel=HOBOTECH link: https://shopsolarkits.com/blogs/learning-center/solar-panels-for-ecoflow-delta-1300
  8. Since no trains go to Phuket now, I wouldn't hold my breath. Phuket has easy airport access, Hua Hin does not, and present trains, even when new faster service starts up soon, isn't much of an advantage, time wise, over driving from Krung Thep. Unless you have no need for a car once there.
  9. DECO customer service - my SUSU model had an oops Turn signal malfunction, so contacted dealer (EV Pranburi ????????), simply to ask where they are hiding the fuses at, since probably not a bulb, as all not working. No fuses ... huh, that explains that. Since about 75 kms away, and silly for him to come down to peek at it, asked OK if I have a peek without worry of voiding warranty. Please do ???? He suspected a bad connection of relay to wiring harness ... nah Was actually a loose wire in or at connection point of relay switch. Asked, since sealed relay, if OK to pop (break) it open & fix. "what are you nuts, we'll just send you a new one" 2 days later, arrived from Nakhon Pathom, swapped out and back on the road again, with working signals. Don't realize how much you use them, till not available. Of course if lived a wee bit closer to dealer, would have simply dropped it off, and picked up when ready. Fast & prompt service, considering our circumstances. So if motivated to, buy from very local dealer. Which there are more than a few: https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/contact-th/dealer
  10. I'd like to see TH manage 1 full year without a derailment. That alone would be an accomplishment. Had 1 just this week, and of course, that was the fault of the rain ... ... or did the brakes fail ... maybe micro-sleep ... dog ran out in front of me, was always my favorite ????
  11. Hell NO, I'd never make it out alive in a Muzzy country. Someone might ask for my opinion of Mohammed ... I like my head.
  12. Great is relative, but yes, very doable ... not on a marriage or retirement visa though, legally anyway. We're living great now on <20k a month, BUT no rent/mortgage, utility bills except ph/internet. Almost non sippers of alcohol & weed smoking. 'We' could easily do it on 10k a month, as only mandatory expense for us now is food. 300 a day would be more than enough. Married, and no kinky stuff ????, so no P4P needed. No CC, or any interest payment or healthcare cost, aside from yearly-ish check up, which adds 1k a month to the budget. Aside from food, our largest bill now will be watering the garden during dry season, maybe 500 baht a month.???? That does take a few million baht invested though, for a comfy, 'monthly cost free' environment .... OR add 10k for rent & utilities. 20k living expense at Krung Thep would not be enjoyable, and simply bare existence.
  13. Agree with that, but since you don't know me or have read any other posts of mine, apparently, about Krung Thep, then the rest of your reply really missed it's mark. ENJOY
  14. That's top secret as not wanting any more nemises here ???? Great name for a forum ???? Really depends what you want and need for your lifestyle. I love Krung Thep, but couldn't live there half the year due to the smog. The other half year would be no problem, and quite welcome, as always something going on, and the variety of 'whatever' to pleases anyone, is there. Actually considered it more than a few times, especially since daughter lives there now. Simply Hua Hin and above, gets a wee bit too much smog for my liking. We even get a bit ourselves and we're below HH. AQI gets knockin' on 100, and I'm not happy. If your finance can afford Krung Thep, then I'd recommend Phuket to anyone, especially a beach person, since at the Andaman Sea side, and has everything needed/wanting.
  15. Your choice, but the air pollution & congestion would get to me after short time, especially the air. Congestion & flooding can almost be avoided, but one does have to breathe, and preferably without wearing an N95 all day when out & about for way too many months.
  16. Not sure if necessary, but we made sure the house had 30A service, with an open breaker slot (30A) waiting for the MG charger install. I believe the usual is 15A service from PEA for residential.
  17. I've never given a deposit for any property I bought (USA), as I've never been offered anything for it, other than receipt/sales agreement. Worth as much as the paper it's written on. Here, house builds, it was pay as they build. Next phase, next payment. Only the first, very partial in advance, and only because, dealing with small independent builder. That was simply for the initial materials & labor for the foundation. Daughter's townhouse, require 5k a month, for 6 months to reserve till closing. And refundable if financing decline, or simply changing her mind...supposedly. But all of 30k baht, for a 2.8m baht sale.
  18. I believe both line of thinking, don't full charge & full charge are correct ... sort of. My limited experience with and reading about LiPo of different materials, and seems consensus is, constant full charging does stress the battery. Maybe why you always see 'charging from 30-80% in so so time". BUT ... full charging occasionally, so battery cells balance is also important, so one cell doesn't krap out, going below minimum voltage, and compromise the rest of the battery bank, since most are a combination of series & parallel connections. Also why, if & when the time comes for battery replacement, the whole bank rarely needs to be replace now, and just the 'low' voltage cells need tending to.
  19. Surely we're not to assume after playing footy, he never earned income again. Obviously having money to travel and holiday internationally. Doesn't scream skint, and photos with kid/grandkids, means he travelled back & forth a bit. Looking a lot like "please, will someone pay for my dad's irresponsibility, because we sure don't want the bill" Just a thought ...
  20. All relative, but Krung Thep certainly is NOT, if wanting a comfy lifestyle. Cheaper then other metros, possibly, but you do get what you pay for sometimes. I hate when they state, food is cheap, meal is 60 baht, as I've rarely had a plate/bowl of food for 60-100 baht that I would call a meal. A meal = 'filling', something to hold you over till next meal, 3-5 hrs away. Not come home from the restaurant, and make yourself a P&J a half hour later ????
  21. That's one opinion ???? One social predator, gone ... win Thai court docket lessened by 1 ... win Thai tax payer not paying support of 1 prisoner ... win Home country spared of pardon/release to them ... win Warning to future scum ... think really hard before ... win Really not seeing a negative ... please point 1 out.
  22. Another one of those all inclusive surveys, (on a site I never heard of), with a choice of 60 cities, in a world of how many ? Hard to believe a Muzzy country/city is #1, if taking AN member's top concerns of: Alcohol Hooker ... not necessarily in that order ????
  23. One more bill to go, and PEA's calculator tell me ฿58 Then the wait to see how many months of -0- units used, it takes for them to replace the meter ... ????
  24. That's win win for everyone ... ???? KARMA ROCKS
  25. "Can't waste my time on you" ... take it away Frank Crazy is good ... sane is boring ????
