  1. Would imagine slightly easier, although it's a fairly easy process to begin with. What could they possibly do that you aren't doing, go to the post office for you, is about the only think I can think of. You have to get your embassy letter of eligibility, you fill it out & post it to get translated & notarized. Then you go to Amphur office, and submit, & your married. The only part an agent could do, is go to the post office for you to send it off for translation & notary, and then receive it back & deliver to your house. Not sure that's worth even paying 100 baht for, as surely they'll think you're an idiot for even using an agent, and charge you a few 1000 baht maybe. Also not seeing any advantage to getting married, unless can't get a retirement visa. Your and or she can write up wills and submit to Amphur office. Really don't understand why so many people think they need agents & lawyers to do the simplest tasks for them. Been married twice ... too easy. 3 houses, 9 lots w/usufructs ... too easy DL ... too easy, transfer car ... too easy Divorce ... easier than getting married. Sold house w/POA (1st wife), too easy, and she wasn't even there.
  2. Whoa ... that a lot of rain. Not sure any system would handle that. At least it's not Sept/Oct and or high tide season. Other areas had a bit more. It is that time of year: https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30329260
  3. Read your policy, and at admission, simply ask if & how they accept said policy. There is no 1 way. Different hospitals have different policies and do or don't accept some policies. Many want payment, then you have to get reimbursed from policy. Some simply take your info, and all is good, file it all for you. Good Luck If you don't have a policy yet, and thinking of using a certain hospital, you may want to ask them which insurer they prefer & accept. They may even offer their own coverage, under written by a competitively priced insurer.
  4. Thank you, but can't answer the question without the information. What I would do, since questioning the pipe age & longevity, and if staying there for a while, is simply replace them all. ALTHOUGH, if 'in' the wall, that could be problematic. And your advice, was just as useless as me, asking for more info, abet after, could offer a suggestion.
  5. They do care, if they notice. I've had a couple gals catch something I missed over the years. Most simply aren't looking, or noticing, and possibly not even know what the price should or shouldn't be. If they are shopping at fresh markets, they know some of the Makro pricing is way OTT to what they are used to, so may think, 'damn that's expensive, they should shop where I do'. Any western foods in the basket and total prices wouldn't surprise them. Silly beef or cheese prices could easily add 1 or 2k to just a few items in the cart. OP's example is way OTT, and if noticed I think anyone would pause and make the adjustment.
  6. What kind of construction is it, and what pressure do you have now ? Is it city fed, and simply decreased because of more houses on the line, or was never very good. Construction wise, are the pipes 'in' the wall, or do you have a wet wall, or outside lines with easy access. Any visible leaks now ? PVC ? Source of the water, well, tank, or going to put city water in tank and draw from that? How far you drawing from, and pushing to ? You really don't need much power if not drawing from or going to, that far.
  7. A couple Philly-ites ... from the other side of the tracks, Delaware County myself; Sharon Hill, Collingdale, Prospect Park, Chester, SW Philly, Aston, Bethel.
  8. Chevy ... yikes. That or any American car, especially an EV ... no thanks. EV - China, they got it down to a science.
  9. I base that on extreme negative projection. 1000 cycles of 300 kms per. 300k kms, which I doubt I'll do 20k a year for first 10 yrs. So 200k, and if I c r a p out, highly unlikely she'll put 10k a year on afterwards. So yes, 20 yrs/300k, and the battery should simply start to degrade, at worst, 20%. Most batteries are good for 1500-2000 cycles, and if driving conservative, 350-400kms per full charge. So a potential of 600-800 kms, before degrading 20%. My #s based on half that. After 20 yrs, the book value will be c r a p anyway, but battery still good enough for around town, which is all she'd use it for anyway.. Or pop it out, tweak it, and use on the house or farm plot for solar back up. Should be plenty of 3rd part battery shops by then. Yes, I think everything through.
  10. Actually that sounds worse than how it reads. I only had 1 class after lunch, and that was Spanish, and we had 4 students. The teacher knew I was a stoner, and would actually tell me 'you need to be here friday for a test' ... ???? Actually an A & B grade student in every subject. I just didn't need to be there to learn every day. They teach, I hear, I remember. They actually use to get frustrated with me and thought I was cheating on the tests, since I never took notes. I just didn't need to. Plus when I did show up for class, I'd fall asleep. Use to work till 1 AM on 3 weekdays, and do back to back 12 shifts on the weekend, fri/sat at restaurant. Talk about child labor laws, or lack of.

  12. I agree, and probably easy enough to do, for Volvo. But ... if it means higher overhead for MG, which is passed to the end buyer, then I'm happy to be surprised. Not really, as I'd wouldn't mind a date. BUT ... don't give me a date, if you don't know one. Got the MG ZS ICE, given date, and arrived on that date, actually before. The 'situation' has changed. They apparently aren't sure when, due to many factors probably; supply chain, raw supplies, dependent on battery supplier (their own issues), possible lock down of employees due to outbreaks. So yes, don't give me a date, you can't commit to. Reality, they gave me a date, 6 months after signing contract. If it gets here earlier ... lucky me.
  13. For the 1+ million more baht they're paying for the Volvo EV, I'll let MG surprise me, sometime in the next 6 months, and spend that mill on something else. Almost the price of a nice house ... ???? Playing Devil's Advocate, there could be a bunch of people on there 'stating' they are cancelling, to motivate others to cancel, so they can get one earlier. It's a sick world ...
  14. Reminds me of the HS days. Lunch was doobies in the field, then hardest part of the day, deciding whether to go back. Half the time I didn't ???? Missed 40 days of school in 12th grade, that's 80 half days, of 160 mandatory days to attend. They actually thought about not letting me graduate. Told them I didn't care, as I wasn't going anyway. I'll pick up the diploma, some day, maybe. Or get a GED...so F O, as piece of paper, I simply don't need.
  15. Bragging ... maybe or not. But far from very rich, as mere $2700 a month. Just a tad over a months salary working at McDs in the USA, $15 x 8 hrs x 22 days = $2640
  16. Definitely doing that at the wrong place. Price per kg, or go elsewhere.
  17. Smell contributes a large percentage of 'taste' ... so yea, I'll be giving that a pass.
  18. Why would she notice, as she's not looking at the price, or the screen to see what was registered. She points, pull the trigger, it beeps, she moves on to the next item. If you had any meats in there, she would simply assume that was the reason for the amount. Scan - collect money - give change ... job done and all I expect ????
  19. Don't need to go back that far, as they were walking around topless just a few decades ago. Even heard of one bloke, having a party for his dog, almost recently, and his wife was walking around topless.????
  20. This thread got me peeking on sites for different pipes, saw one vender selling to resemble beer bottles.
  21. Sort of like the migration from cold & damn UK to Thailand now ... I think it will balance out. Shy of 40 mill came to TH 2019 ... shows people don't care about climate change. Only the policy makers trying to steal your hard earned money. I stopped contributing to them 22 yrs ago.
  22. She wouldn't even bother replacing if it needed to be. Just get one of those tinker cars, that are silly priced now for 400 & 500k. They should made here and be in the 200k range by that time. Or another e-motorcycle for 40k
  23. My daughter lives quite comfy in Krung Thep, on about 35k. I know, because that's the expense account I put her on for 6 months. Non drinker, but enjoys eating out with friends. Condo 10k, utilities 2k Phone/internet 1k Petrol 2k Rest for food, and 500 a day more than enough, 15k Leaves 5k for surprises. Has BF, so no P4P ???? Now works and has a larger budget, and buying a townhouse next month for investment purposes. No assistance from me. Also how I know I can live on 30k or less a month, as bring in 65k for visa, and that was the split for 6 months.
