  1. Wife dragged me to Banrakthai MHS last winter, total tourist trap, mostly Thai tourists. Then she dragged me to Pai, I reluctantly agreed, total tourist trap mostly westerners, what a clown show that was. But she really enjoyed watching the tourists. She’s already making plans for another go at it and I have a firm NO go or plan on being too sick to go ????
  2. Possibly try to find on your own with some research. There are a vast amount of areas and small towns. Chose a region and rent a car and explore until you find a place you’re comfortable with. Return the car and come back on a bus, and rent a car or motorcycle locally.
  3. Not, sorry but this is incorrect. Depends on what region. I’ve been all over Mexico and corn tortillas are wide spread and prevalent everywhere in the country especially central and north
  4. Certainly understand khun not alone, many 1/2/wits on the forum incapable of reading comprehension and deciphering simple English ????????
  5. 100% agree. Take the wife to a more expensive restaurant spend 1000-2000฿ and I’m never impressed. Though I’m always impressed a simple khao niao & muping or hanglay, 40-50฿ is cheap doesn’t mean it’s not superior.
  6. Duh..huh…not for you but for everyone else yes of course. Why would anyone ask such a silly question. And no I didn’t get a visa because I didn’t go, an acquaintance did as easily it is to decipher in my previous post ????????
  7. Over priced and marginal All for big corporations, it’s what disperses wealth in the economy. Just not a Starbucks fan 100% red white and blue patriot, couldn’t care less about what euros think.
  8. Inthanin definitely better, has more kick than Amazon
  9. …coffee flavored milk and sugar
  10. Technically it’s not allowed but I spend a lot of time helping the wife with her business, out of sight and in the house and driving her to the city. Do a lot of gardening and taking care of the property. Never dull moment with her, we keep each other well entertained.
  11. Yeah right, by what measure? Immigration has all the information in they’re database, easily accessible on the fly by any IO in the field, not to mention the face recognition capabilities of their vehicles, what stoneage western country has implemented that? Not many. Banking systems light years ahead of many western countries including the US. It’s remarkable the number of individuals here that just lay and wait for a hasty put-down without rational.
  12. All is needed is a passport to cross into Huay Xai from what I’ve recently heard, unless something changed. A few extra ฿ will get you in and out in about 45 minutes and on the next bus to Chiangkhong
  13. I use this, got on shopee about 600฿ shipped from China
  14. They’re confused because the brain is wired incorrectly, hence the goofy confused fatazz laugh cry baby emoji response thing
  15. Presumptuous statement. If one took the time to read reviews of many different businesses in TH then one will certainly see most of the negative reviews are from Thai people, unless of course one is only reading reviews of touristy places
  16. Death is the climax of life, why wouldn’t anyone want to experience it at it’s fullest?????
  17. 1+ here, using NIR on my knees, works great
  18. Somtam cooks are quite creative, it’s remarkable the different things one can find in a dish of somtam
  19. war, anarchy or whatever you want to call it
  20. I’m sure because they don’t want a bunch of slackers migrating here and mooching off the system, like what the idiots are allowing in the US. So if you have money, can produce income for Thai people or can exercise some benefit for the country, then by all means, you’re welcome to stay as a guest. Permanent citizenship is a task that I’d never be interested in. Everything is easy enough as it is.
  21. I had about 14 years ago, encephalitis was so severe that I didn’t think I was going to make it. A neighbor brought a concoction of something or another that brought the swelling down. Certainly hope never again.
  22. There’s a lot of negative reviews of businesses here in TH on google left by Thais and foreigners with no repercussions. I’m sure it’s the same in most countries, false accusations and defamation is a no no.
  23. +1, nothing like a deet bath to keep the buggers off, and fog the camp with ddt, marvelous stuff I tell you
  24. Desperate men falling for desperate women with different objectives. See it here daily.
