  1. Small swimming briefs or long swim trunks? I see 50-50 ratio of both in Thailand. In EU long shorts are no-no in the pools. In the US small ones makes you 99% gay. I use small ones in Thailand to give women something to dream of... they seem to like it.
  2. I think his concerns are valid. If/when Trump comes back he'll wreck US and big part of the world. In the EU we just saw one nut from Hungary stopped everything... Thailand has way too much rules to cope if you are not willing to be a worm....
  3. I'm "Mr CASH" and yes, plan to pay cash. Snow birds are leaving Florida and there are many deals. NOTE; I'm not looking for investments to get more. Just to secure what I already have and use it most fun and secure way. I'm getting about 5% now for my CDs and hi-interest savings. Some of my US banks are pain and at CD renewal time I must be at the bank. Stupid rules and extra expense. I'd like to have a house in Ft Lauderdale, Lake Forth or North Palm beach area. However, Ft Lauderdale is getting too expensive. I have some friends there. Airport is excellent too. I always liked to visit central and south American countries and women are to my taste. my favorite show is "90 day fiance" -:) I wanna be in the show - with others or alone! Thanks for your input
  4. Are you kidding? Wrong forum to ask.... never mind. "A paid-for house means you have 100% equity in your home"
  5. Dear Doctor - why do they have to be ready to "step back" if it's legit?
  6. I'm looking into new ways to secure stress free future and live in the US. I've been thinking this; Buy a nice home in nice area and do reverse Mortgage right the way for 10 or 15 years. "A reverse mortgage allows consumers 62 or older to supplement their income by converting home equity into cash. While reverse mortgages may sound like a great deal, they are not suitable for everyone." Has anyone done this in the States?
  7. Try to leave Thailand with your "fake reservation". You can't. It's not a TICKET. The rules dictate "onward TICKET required". That's why I don't use nor trust it. I just wanna be sure newcomers understand the risk and don't believe all self-proclaimed experts. What’s an onward ticket and why do I need it for my around the world trip? In addition to a passport and any necessary visas, most countries in the world have a protocol in place that requires you to provide proof that you’ll actually be leaving their country (an onward ticket) in order for you to enter. “Onward ticket” doesn’t mean you need a ticket home or out of that country specifically, but that you should have documentation that your travel will be continuing outside the country at a later date."
  8. My experience, Jewelry stores give best rate but only take USD and Euro. Bus, even if it's free, can't beat $ 6 taxi. Yes, it's only 5-6 USD from the airport. If you walk outside the pay-gate and get it there it's 35 000 VND less -:) That's how much drivers have to pay per trip out.
  9. Better take blue bus to BKK and then bus to HH. Tickets from the same desk as Jomtien bus.
  10. onwardticket, com is a scam. Everybody knows it but so far seems to work. I never use it but don't say it's bad. The World needs free spirit thinkers who help others -:) "About us We are a collective of digital nomads who want to help people like us in the process of visa applications. That's why we decided to create this website."
  11. Better have ticket out within 30 days every time you enter visa free. That way no stress. How you do it it's up to you.
  12. Expensive taste? Yes, now they are up from $ 15 ,or so. Still OK since they last 20+ years. My 2004 Nokia 6020 is still in perfect working condition but LCD is getting dim. I got 2 of them. They sell for 75-100 euros now. Drug dealers, Pimps and gangsters are using them! And low tech fans like me. I've learned how to fix them too. YouTube guys from India teach me. "Nokia 105 2019 Blue from the brand Nokia for only 25.70€ with fast delivery" from country "X" all day long.
  13. Not smart? I just activated brand new NOKIA 105 4G. Got AIS prepaid as a gift for a year. An other new one waiting in the box... and 6 used ones waiting when prices are high enough to make 2-400% profit. Battery life 3 weeks, no tracking, no BS.
  14. https://www.jetski-worldcup.com/news2023/37-JWC23-RNL4.html Russia has no money shortage, 31 competitors! Nice pits and equipment.
  15. I don't think so... nothing fancy but excellent products by granma, mama and daughter. 10min walk from Eden Plaza Hotel. I tried to walk and track with Google Yellow fellow but doesn't want to. Many many small streets.
  16. I need only for calls, no net needed. Thanks.
  17. It sad when you get cheated. But there are happy endings too. Last week I was in Danang, Vn. I bought one wonderful chocolate pastry for 10 000 VND. Had walked a block when somebody tapped my shoulder. It was a girl from the store, handing me 40 000VND. I had paid with 50 000VND bill thinking it was 10 000. Those crazy big bills get my head spinning... I thanked her and offered 20 000 but she refused. I felt so good I walked back and bought TWO more -:). Just show my appreciation to this hole-in-wall family bakery.
  18. You are right and that's why I use my US cards most to get airline points. But that protection is not free; Fees are going up every year or so. Cards used to be free. Interest rates go up too but I always pay the balance in full so it doesn't hurt me. Bank are always winning -;)
  19. During Covid we got 45 days. It was working so well Vietnam adopted it and is still in use. It brings many new tourists to Vietnam who stay longer and spend more. Why was Thailand stupid to go back to 30 days?
  20. This pizz me off; War criminals, Russians, get 90 days walk-in entry. "The tourist visa exemption validity period for Russian nationals has been extended to 90 days, up from 30 days." We, US folk, get only 30 days. Look who are supporting Thailand's economy; "The country's main trading partners are Japan, the United States, China, Singapore, and Malaysia."
  21. When at Jomtien Immi lady said (after I complained current stupid system): "Changes regarding TM30 reporting are coming by new government. Starting Jan 7, 2024.", She also mentioned "no need for visa runs in 2024" but didn't say more (maybe she meant only me, like "going to be deported") TM30 news may be they finally start to follow existing rules. Or? Hopefully something intelligent happens. I'm not holding my breath...
  22. Sending CC by mail is so risky because US banks still don't use PIN code! When I demand they give a number it but the card still works without it. When in EU I get kicks off offering to fill up my friends gas tanks and show there in no PIN code involved. Just pop it in and fill up to any amount. They just can't believe it... anyone finding my CC can do the same.
  23. skyscanner gave better price by Japan Airlines which has excellent service and seats. Tony Fernandes also was dishonest to Formula 1 drivers - didn't pay millions of salaries. I boycott him and his companies for that.
